HUGE GAME TONIGHT-Denver Broncos @ New York Jets
eball replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Listened to Merrill Hoge on Sirius this morning talking about Darnold. He acknowledged that some of the problems aren't Darnold's fault, like the drops and OL issues. But he said he has watched every snap this season and even went back to look at his notes out of USC. Darnold had sloppy footwork coming into the league and Hoge said he has done nothing to clean it up. The host mentioned Darnold working with Jordan Palmer on mechanics and Hoge basically said, "yes, I'm sure they've addressed how to fix it, but then it is on the player to actually do it." Hoge talked about Darnold's footwork being so bad that when he tried to avoid a rush last night he tripped and fell down. And therein, my friends, lies the difference between Sam Darnold and our own Josh Allen. The "want to." Josh is doing everything in his power to get better. Sam apparently thinks it will all just come. -
Trump, Melania Test Positive for COVID 19

it was a rhetorical question not directed at anyone here in particular. I’ve seen the videos from rallies where people express that sentiment. -

So if you’re one of his supporters who believe the virus is fake, I wonder how you react to this news? -
Lazard out. Packers want Kumerow back?

Is this an AMA thing between you two? -
I nearly put a few bucks on the Jests before reality set in and I asked myself WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Good rule of thumb is that you just don’t bet on bad teams, no matter the spread.

And to think that prior to the start of last season more people thought the Jests would take the “next step” than the Bills. -
How do you determine the winner of a trade? Who wound up with the best player. Draft picks are great, but it will take years to come to fruition and you can’t count on those draft picks panning out. You build your team through the draft, but you don’t trade away superstars for draft picks if you think you’re close to competing for a championship. In that regard the Jests probably were the smartest team of the three, because Douglas knows they are a ways away. The decisions by Ass-Chin and Minnesota are pretty indefensible.

Here’s an interesting theoretical to ponder: You take the same defense, same supporting cast, and have to decide if you want Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson as your QB. As recently as four weeks ago, outside of WNY the ratio would have probably been 90/10 in favor of Jackson. Right now, I bet that ratio has closed to about 50/50. Remember, both QBs have the same number of playoff wins.

It’s the whole team, man. #cultureisreal

Somebody (cough, cough) predicted 12 wins and started a thread on it before the season started. I see no reason to change my mind now.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Rams (The Athletic)

Was just going to post the same thing. They won’t give up on the kid coming back from an ACL. -

What did so many of the draft experts miss about Allen?
eball replied to Batman1876's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go back and read any number of my posts over the past couple of years. They ignored his relative lack of experience and exposure. They ignored his character. They didn’t properly consider the desire of a kid who had to solicit colleges for an offer. They didn’t bother to look further than the stats, and they passed off the physical traits as meaningless due to a perceived lack of understanding of how to play QB. We should all be very thankful that our scouts and GM did the research and could see what few saw.- 246 replies

Sort of good memory. It was 24-14 but Kelly hit Lofton for a TD to cut it to 24-21, then Tasker blocked the punt taken in by JD Williams to get the lead, and the Odomes strip/fumble recovery TD was the icing on the cake.

This is b.s. The league has to step in, right? These guys could totally have been infected.

The Raiders comeback game was the very next week after the Denver game. Two "miracle" comebacks in back-to-back weeks that propelled the Bills to their first Super Bowl.

Chargers are losing D starters like it's going out of style. I guess they could be healthier later in the season but they just lost to the crappy Panthers (sans McCaffrey), for crying out loud.
