I’ve liked Ty Dunne’s stuff, and the article is well written, but it left me feeling a bit depressed and uncertain of how much to believe. I don’t doubt the stuff about Pegula loving Mahomes and while there is a tinge of “what if” I’m glad Pegs let the football guys make the decisions. At the end of the day the article doesn’t paint McD in a good light at all, but how much of what two guys who got fired (Whaley and Monos) said are we really supposed to believe? I didn’t really like Warner before I read this article and I like him less after reading it. What a pompous know-it-all. I guess we can look back and enjoy the first four weeks of the season, knowing that Josh Allen can’t process defenses and was only taking advantage of “easy” situations. I should have stayed on my bye week.

I really hope it's white. The all red vs those dark blue could be painful to watch.

Not a “must win” but certainly a “definitely-should-win-unless-something-goes-terribly-wrong” kind of game. Herbert has been great but there’s a reason why they aren’t winning games. I think it’s coaching, for one.

But Flores is a brilliant coach! That Tua offense is BORING. Dude throws an insanely accurate 3-yard pass. Fitz playing is worse for us. That said...MUCK FIAMI!!!!

Don’t leave @ScottLaw out of this!

The bye week comes at a great time. They can stew for a bit over one that got away, but also realize they are still in the driver’s seat for the AFC East and #3 seed if they take care of business down the road. Their last six are the Bolts, Niners, Steelers, Broncos, Pats***, and Fish. I’m pushing for 5-1 but 4-2 should do it. They should be the favorites against everyone but the Steelers. Get healthy and do some internal auditing so that they can break some tendencies coming out of the bye. See y’all in a couple of weeks. I’m going on my bye week as well.

Looks like we're shorthanded tomorrow - Covid-19

So the guys without pulses just get the day off? That doesn’t seem fair. -
Another team angle related to Josh’s play...

Can you read? I said last year - as in 2019. -
It’s a metric based upon point differential so it makes sense. What the metric doesn’t factor is how the point differential is impacted by garbage time scores or close games that get away in the 4th quarter. It’s basically saying “if the point differential is close you’re probably winning some and losing some” so a 7-2 and 8-0 team with close differentials are “lucky.”

Another team angle related to Josh’s play...

@MJS I don't disagree with you that situations should dictate the strategy. Again, my overall point is that with an offense that has shown itself to be explosive the options on defense are more varied than they have been before, and "playing not to lose" should never be the default. -

@Hapless Bills Fan good addition to this thread. That could very well be a big part of it. -

As always, your comments are well-reasoned, and I acknowledge that the offense had a bad night against KC. I'm not suggesting that the Bills use the same defense against every team that they used against Seattle, but I do think they are now willing to take more chances based upon the strength of the offense. They may have known Josh wasn't 100% against Tennessee and KC...I'm sure they'll never tell. Anyway, I'll be very curious to see how we play KC the next time, because I do believe there will be a "next time" this season. -

Yeah I think that is sort of my point. No more “playing not to lose” against good offensive teams. The Jests and Pats*** are not good offensive teams. -
And BBFS rears its’ ugly head...

Yes, it’s a Josh Allen thread. Sort of. Deal with it. So until last week the Bills’ defense has been decidedly mediocre, and in some instances just plain bad. They’ve had key injuries, sure, but the game plan against KC made me want to vomit. I think we saw a turning point with the defense, however, that I believe is in large part due to McD’s and Frazier’s confidence in the offense. The Bills’ D played with a risky, go-for-broke mentality against Seattle we have not seen previously. Did they play that way last season? Hell no they didn’t; they essentially played Jauron-ball (like they did against KC). I think McD now trusts Josh and Daboll to put points on the board against anyone, and if the D happens to get burned on a play or series the mentality is now “we’ll get it back” and they’re going to keep putting the pressure on opposing offenses. I will be watching the defensive game plans very closely from here on out.

This, but stop adding names to compare him to! Josh is a unicorn. -

Umm, no. You clearly don’t understand what Hasselbeck was saying. -

LOL! I literally cringed when I read the word “articulate” in the OP. -
What would it take for you to trade Josh?
eball replied to elijah's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No person with an ounce of football knowledge would trade Josh Allen for anyone save the exception of Pat Mahones.- 127 replies

Horrible Harry is resting comfortably.

I don’t recall you calling for the drafting of Metcalf...quite the opposite, actually. But never let an opportunity go by to get a dig in at Beane and McD! It’s what you do. Must be difficult seeing all of your previous criticisms go by the wayside, one by one....

Matt Hasselbeck on QB “intangibles” and Josh...

The comments about Josh “never being the league’s best QB” are funny to me. Aside from Mahomes there isn’t another QB in the league right now I’d want. Everybody wants to put Josh into a compartment — “he’s like Big Ben” or “he’s like Cam” — when he’s really a quite different player. Big Ben could only dream of having Josh’s athleticism. Cam can only dream of Josh’s guts and leadership (and accuracy — yeah, I said it). Josh will be a perennial top 5 QB while he’s in the league, and is likely to enter the yearly conversation of best overall. -
@nucci is correct, although the networks have been "swapping" certain games for several years now. That part seems to be haphazard. But in general, AFC road team = CBS and NFC road team = FOX.

The Slide (Stefon Diggs): smart move?
eball replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any player with the ball can "give himself up" in the field of play. Tre White did it last year after an interception.
