  1. I didn't watch that game so I'll take your word for it. I'd have to assume they gave Mahomes enough time.
  2. I think nickel only works against the Ravens if the 5th DB is down in the box as run support/spy on Lamar. I agree with you on Klein. I absolutely believe the Bills will force Baltimore to beat us through the air, and the book on Lamar thus far is to force him to throw outside the numbers. There are two things you can’t do against a Baltimore defense — run between the tackles and wait for long developing routes. They are vulnerable on the outside, and I assure you Daboll knows this. I don’t think he’ll be fooled into trying to run up the middle.
  3. Significant snow, as opposed to a dusting/sleet/slick surface, is a completely different animal. If there’s lots of snow all bets are off...and yes, Shady seemed to love it. I remember his comments about Allen as well. I think players know it when they see it.
  4. Practice photos from today have the offense in blue. It will be blue on white or all blues on Saturday, folks. 👍
  5. Yeah, I'm thinking the NFL probably prohibits the "alternative" uniforms or different helmet decals during the playoffs. Bills can go all blue, all white, or a combo. No red, no throwback helmet.
  6. For three quarters the D did exactly what it was designed to do -- require the Colts to have long sustained drives and keep them out of the end zone. I have no idea what happened on those long runs in the 4th. That was just weird, and made a game that should have been over turn into a knee-knocker.
  7. Dead wrong. Slick conditions favor the offense in general, but more specifically the passing game. The WRs know where they are going, the DBs don't. Stopping/starting/cutting is more difficult. That is actually a bit tougher on the run game as well. This ^^^^ guy gets it.
  8. The Ravens under Harbaugh are a pretty arrogant team. They seem to basically say "we'll do what we do and you have to beat us." Against most teams it's good enough, but against really good QBs they are vulnerable. Guess what -- the Bills finally have a "really good QB."
  9. LOL at anyone saying A. Williams' performance in the 2nd half against Miami means he should get playing time in the divisional round of the playoffs. That performance suggested he should get more opportunities next August. Signing Freeman is an excellent move; I don't care what his numbers were for the Giants, he's only 28 and has playoff experience.
  10. I bet McKenzie is having fun playing Lamar Jackson in practice this week.
  11. Just listened to a pretty good clip analyzing McD's coaching performance in this game and it was extremely complimentary. Said he basically baited the Colts into a run-centric approach with the looks they gave on D, and for any team other than Baltimore encouraging teams to run decreases their expected points for the play/game. Also credited McD with masterful use of timeouts at the end of the game, both forcing the officials to review what SHOULD have been a fumble and then essentially taking five seconds away from the Colts when he called TO before they could snap the ball. The difference between 19 seconds and 14 seconds left is enormous in a "just need a FG" situation. Our coach is improving in all aspects of the game.
  12. As a Bills fan I am appalled and scared that we have to rely upon an MVP QB to win a playoff game.
  13. Baltimore is a one-dimensional team on offense and their defense is not the “vaunted” Baltimore defense of old. McD will not let their running game beat us, and we have a not-so-secret weapon in Josh Allen that is unlike anything they’ve seen. I don’t think the Ravens will have an answer for this passing game and unlike other teams they are too arrogant to try and “slow the game down.” Their gaudy stats were built against a patty cake schedule. I won’t be surprised if the halftime score is something like 24-10 and Bills fans are relatively relaxed during the 2nd half.
  14. You probably had the Bills at 7-9 for season as well. Nothing to see here...
  15. I feel better about this game than I did about the Colts. Take it for what it's worth.
  16. I dunno, I still feel like Josh has to "prove it"....
  17. Wow, Gunner, this was quite a mixed bag. The Browns and Diggs predictions were major hits (and plenty bold), but the Cowboys, Seahawks, and other Bills takes were as cold as ice! That said, you still have as good a record as most draft gurus.
  18. I am confident that McD will scheme the Bills' D to control Jackson's rushing. The issue will be Dobbins and the TEs. I hope the Bills play aggressive man vs. the TEs and keep Tre on Brown. On offense, it all comes down to effectively dealing with the Ravens' blitzes. They will do everything they can to confuse the OL and Josh. I'm actually glad the Bills have an essentially non-existent running game because the Ravens are difficult to run against anyway. In last year's game Josh had open receivers he missed...he let the blitzes affect him before he came alive in the 4th quarter. As we all know, this is a new and improved Josh. Is it Saturday yet?
  19. I think I’ll claim 4-for-4 now. Anybody see Josh falling out of the top 5?
  20. The difference between last year and this, though, is that last year’s team was not complete. This year’s team is. Now they know they have what it takes.
  21. I had the feeling all week that this was going to be a much tougher game than many expected. The Colts are a solid, well-coached team whose strengths match up well with the Bills’ weaknesses. I also felt that this Bills team, for all they have accomplished, still had not proven — to themselves or their fans — that they are capable of a postseason run. The playoffs are a different animal, and persevering through a stressful game like yesterday is, I believe, what this team needed in order to make a truly special run possible. It was another box that was checked off — “can the team win in the postseason in a pressure situation” — and the key players showed up when they were needed most. I believe that the overwhelming sentiment in the locker room after the game was likely one of relief. The monkey is off their backs. I absolutely feel as though the team that takes the field next week is capable of dominating the way they did to close out the regular season. This is going to be a fun ride and it’s only just beginning.
  22. Guys. No need to speculate; not one matchup next weekend is known yet. Saturday is 4 and 8, Sunday 3 and 6.
  23. The #1 seeds do not necessarily play on the same day. It’s based upon how the NFL and the networks want it.
