For all of this talk about how well coached the Fish are, can anyone explain why they were completely unprepared for Cam Newton to run the ball on Sunday? Our old friend Shaq Lawson got abused, and some of the comments I read from the defense suggest they were “surprised” that Newton would run. Preparedness is one of the strengths of our coaching staff. This game has the makings of another easy Bills win.

Lamar Jackson pulled a Josh Allen and no one said a word.

The play happened in the first quarter of a scoreless game. Try again? -
Please. Stop. Starting. Threads. It's bad enough when you respond to them.

What do you expect out of our offense game 1?
eball replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bump. You know, sooner or later some of you knuckleheads are going to start listening to me. -
And if they don't, I'm betting the offense and defense will.

As if we needed more proof, this post absolutely, positively proves that you have no idea what you're watching. You may as well watch cartoons on Sunday afternoons and then come back to check the scores. Good lord.

Hey, I forgot about our old friend Omar Kelly. Time to start badgering him! Edit: oh, that's right I can't. He blocked me.

Well, at least you sound open minded about it.

I see a lot of fear and trepidation concerning the Fish in this thread. Yes, it's another division game. Yes, the Fish don't want to go 0-2 in the division. BUT -- the Bills are still a much better team from top to bottom, they almost always play well in Miami, Josh owns the Fish, and the Bills will treat this game like a must-win as well. The Fish may be building something for the future but everyone is just a bit ahead of themselves thinking this is the year. They just lost to a significantly weakened Pats*** team by 10. I'm going to jump on this -4 line before the sharps push it up.

It has to do with the fact that all QBs -- even the very good ones -- typically make 3-4 plays a game they'd like to have back. As @teef mentioned above, if you are grading Josh below a 'B' for this game you're letting unreasonable expectations or a bias enter into your thinking.

Did you ever watch Jim Kelly play QB?

Bass was essentially 6-for-7 on kicks yesterday. First true test as a rookie. I’m not worried yet.

Current forecast looks like rain will be gone by kickoff, but 15 MPH wind throughout. I like that. It really matches the conditions they had for their scrimmage and Josh was on point in that one.

Bills release their social justice message
eball replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m just curious as to what problem anyone has with the comments “stop hate” or “it takes all of us.” If those messages make you angry, disgusted, or want to turn off your TV you’ve got a lot of soul searching to do, to understand why you feel the way you do. -
Yeah that was a tough call for me. I agree with everything you are saying...I guess the drama of the Comeback won out for me in the end.
-
For games I’ve attended: Best — The Comeback Runner-Up — ‘90 AFC Championship 3rd place — 3 TDs in a minute vs. Denver (‘90) Worst — Wild Card vs. Jacksonville (1st and only Bills’ playoff loss at home) Runner-Up — Saints in 2017

Draft gurus: Mekhi Becton vs Jerry Hughes?

But can Hughes win a fistfight in a phone booth? -
You will be arrested if you go to the Bills Stadium on Sunday

We’re all judgmental. I guess the difference is that regarding some issues there is a clear right and wrong. I have little tolerance for closed-minded people who are seemingly incapable of introspection and self-analysis of why they think the way they do. -
So I saw some photos yesterday that the first seven rows at the stadium are “tarped” with various ads and messages...I’ll be very curious to hear how the piped in sound comes across on TV. I also watched an interview with the in-game PA announcer for the Bills...he said he will be doing his in-game announcements just like a regular game, meaning they will be “homer” calls. That should be interesting as well. They will play the Shout song after scores and the train horn on 3rd downs. It’s going to be surreal.

Don’t worry about it. And by the way, intelligence isn’t based upon where you’re from. Learned behavior is, though. -
Defense and special teams TDs this season
eball replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is an interesting thread, and I’m not so sure looking at averages across the league is the right way to evaluate it. I’d like to see how the top 5 or top 10 defenses in the league fared over the past five years vs. the bottom 10. I’m willing to bet that the top 10 defenses scored more often than the bottom 10, and it is therefore a statistical anomaly that the Bills defense didn’t score last year.
