I don’t even think Shakir’s injury is worrisome. He doesn’t need practice leading up to the Ravens game, and if he misses that one, so be it. Everyone else except Hairston is on track to be available in week one, and Hairston wasn’t going to be starting anyway. If you’re really “worried” about the injuries I have a suggestion…shut down your media outlets for the next three weeks and tune in the Wednesday before the first game, when you can read the injury report and breathe a sigh of relief.

I doubt anything “happened.” I think Cook is just using whatever leverage he has at this point to force the issue. He has been a “good soldier” all along, reporting to mandatory minicamp and practicing through the first two weeks of training camp. I’m on record that I believe Cook is extremely important to this offense. I trust that Beane will get something done, whether it is just sweetening the pot for this season or working out a 2-3 year extension.

I think you’re being harsh on the kid - and he IS still a kid. Not as young as Tremaine Edmunds, but a kid. He has exhibited a tremendous attitude and seems to be willing to work. And his speed shows when the ball is in his hands, much like Shakir. Maybe you don’t like his personality and goofiness in interviews and are interpreting that to mean he isn’t serious? I think that would be a mistake.

Vic is super knowledgeable and never goes out on a limb. I do think he sometimes gets stuck in an “old school” mentality but in today’s world where everyone in the media is trying to have a hot take he is a welcome reminder of what reporting and commentary used to be.

And I think that’s exactly what it is and what the Bills intend it to be. For the fans it’s a “get the kids out, see your heroes circling the venue tossing balls and signing autographs” event. For the team it’s a break for the players and a chance for the young guys to experience the stadium. No need to make it more than what it is.
