  1. Yep. It is an annual planned vacation for many Buffalonians...and the fact the game is so big has inspired even more folks to make the trip.
  2. Josh is awesome. Just read his quotes from yesterday’s media appearance and he’s giving the Fish nothing…textbook stuff for making sure there is no bulletin board material. He even said “their crowd will be rocking, it’s a hostile environment we’re going into” — yeah, for them. 😂
  3. Apparently you’ve never seen or been to a Bills-Fish game in Miami before.
  4. @ScottLaw you’re such a dolt, “quietly” disagreeing with my posts yet offering nothing. I was right once again that the Bills were not dead, and I’m right that the Ravens aren’t “taking the day off” against the Steelers. Sitting Lamar for a QB with playoff experience isn’t throwing in the towel.
  5. It's a reasonable question, but I don't think the Ravens will take essentially three weeks off before playing another meaningful game. The risk of losing your edge is too great. Besides, if you're Baltimore and you see what you just did to Miami do you really think Buffalo will lose to them anyway? It's a dangerous thing to screw around with your team in an effort to try and game the system. Sure, the rest of the AFC would prefer not to see the Bills but I don't think any coaches are making decisions on that basis. I'd bet if you ask coaches, most would prefer not to have a bye at all unless there are key players they are trying to get healthy.
  6. Yeah, there's nothing like giving an unproven late round rookie who has been hurt all season his first meaningful reps in a playoff game!
  7. I'm sure I've told this story here before, but that game was while I was in grad school at UB. I had a pair of season tix in the 330s, and for this game I let my mom and sister sit there. Me, my (now departed) dad, a buddy from school and his brother got four seats in the nosebleeds on the visitors' side of the stadium. I don't remember if we were actually in the last row, but we were very close to the top. The game wasn't a sellout because the Bills had been thrashed by Houston the week prior, when Kelly was hurt. We lost the division and even though this game was at home nobody thought the Bills would win. The WGR cardboard handouts proclaimed "Drill The Oilers." The Jerry Sullivans of the world gleefully predicted the end of the Bills' run...and it looked like they were right when Bubba McDowell returned a deflected pass for a TD early in the 3rd to put the Oilers up 35-3. The four of us looked at each other and said "one more drive" -- we all wanted to see the Bills at least give it an effort and couldn't make ourselves leave because it had been such a great run. Needless to say, folks were leaving all around us. What happened afterwards will remain the greatest sporting memory of my life (until the Bills win a SB). We scored...then we got the onside kick and scored again. The crowd came to life. After the TD that brought us to 35-31 we looked out over the back of the stadium and saw fans streaming BACK IN. This was unheard of at the time -- once you left a game you were out -- but, the story is that Bill Polian famously ordered security to "let 'em back in." I believe the crowd was larger at the end of the game than it was at the beginning. Christie's FG to win the game was almost anti-climactic...we were exhausted. Everyone was high-fiving and hugging one another in the stands; a scene I have not witnessed at a sporting event before or since. And yes, I still have my ticket stub.
  8. I don’t like having this conversation this week. Let’s wait until the Fish are eliminated from the playoffs.
  9. The guy who posted this is a dolt. No reason to post it other than an attention grab. No new info and no specifics, just wink-wink “I’ve got a source and will disclose more later” crap. What a joke.
  10. I take all of this stuff with a large grain of salt. If Josh can't throw without hurting himself or making it worse, they wouldn't have him out there. His coach isn't Mike McDaniel, for crissake.
  11. Go Bills! 15-6, Babyyyyyy!!!! (bzzzz, bzzzzz, bzzzzz….)
  12. At some point this season I had reached the conclusion that McD wasn’t the guy to get the Bills “over the hump” and into a Super Bowl (I don’t put winning the Super Bowl as the benchmark because so much can happen in one game). It is clear, though, that his players respect him and want to play for him. What happened after the Go Long hit piece says a lot about how the team views him. McD is not perfect with respect to gameday decisions, although he took a huge step forward when he called timeout on Sunday to get the Bills out of shotgun on 3rd and 1. My primary fear about McD is that he will tense up during the last 2:00 of tight games, but over the past month that hasn’t happened, with close wins over KC, the Chargers, and now the Pats***. Perhaps he is turning a corner. There is no question this week is the biggest regular season game of his career. Win and you get to be home for two, possibly three, playoff games. I have revised my opinion of McD and am no longer looking for him to be immediately replaced. He has earned a bit more length of rope. I want him to get it done because he is a good man who has proven he loves Buffalo and what the Bills represent.
  13. Murray should have seen his last meaningful snaps for sure after this past weekend. No reason not to replace his snaps with Fournette going forward; Lenny has been there long enough to know the playbook and would be an upgrade.
  14. Sounds about right for the sort of person who calls into radio postgame shows…
  15. Nice work, sir. Brilliant. 😂
  16. Bottom line is that Shakir, Kincaid, and Davis all made key plays in the passing game yesterday when the Bills needed it. We have said all along that Josh needs options he can trust besides Diggs, and I’d say he has that. This doesn’t mean we don’t still need some more speed — we do — but this cast of characters can lead us to some special things…
  17. Nah, they wanted the Bills and Fish to be playing at the same time. It’s the same reason they wait to schedule the W18 games…so they can put teams competing for something in the same time slots.
  18. Can’t remember being as anxious for a regular season day as I am this morning. Two huge games — our Bills vs. the Pats***, of course, but also Baltimore/Miami. If the home teams take care of business the New Year’s festivities will be that much more fun. Regardless, just getting into the playoffs is the goal, no matter how it happens. Go Bills! 15-6, Babyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
  19. I don’t understand this sort of thinking. A — the Bills have essentially been the playoffs for the past month. B — they are peaking and playing their best football at the right time. C — there is no evidence that having an “easy” game before entering the playoffs does a team any good whatsoever. I’d even argue that the bye isn’t a good thing unless you’re a team that needs to get key players healthy. Keep the roll going and enter the playoffs on one hell of a heater…
  20. One step ahead of ya…big screen hanging on wall will be the Bills game, and I brought a 2nd TV out of the guest bedroom to sit on the floor beneath it for Fish/Ravens. Gonna be a fun Sunday afternoon!
  21. I guaran-damn-tee you Belichick doesn’t give a rat’s ass about draft position, and neither do his players. That stuff is for fans and the media. And I’m very happy the Browns won Thursday night in that regard…if Baltimore loses to Miami then Cleveland could beat them in W18 for the division. Thus, the Ravens are extra motivated for this game — it is truly for both the division and #1 seed, and they could lose both if they falter.
  22. Hard to imagine them putting a guy who relies upon his upper body strength out there if he's not ready to go 100%. That's just asking for trouble. If anything, I think DaQuan will have some extra juice in those legs from all of the rest he has gotten. I like the idea of letting him shake off some rust this week and then getting after Tua and Mostert next week.
  23. I don't know if his injury is a HAS but besides missing a game he has been in and out of games regularly it seems...
