  1. Apparently you missed the part where I said "fine, I'll concede that one". I get called ethinic terms from the past that just don't offend me because, well, I am an adult. I think what everyone just can't handle is the context in which it's being used. Terms that were used 30 -40 years ago considered to be fine then many people get all bunched up about today. I not only choose not to, but have the intellectual awareness to understand context. apparently many do not. If you have been playing along with my other responses to others willing to have a civil discussion, you'd find that I am actually OK with the name change which was not immediately apparent in my first post.
  2. How many people were surveyed in 2020? Where were their respective geographies? Were all the people surveyed located in California? I would really question the sample populous as a consensus of ALL native Americans must then feel this way. Sorry, but very pointed surveys to generate a foregone conclusion seems very un-scientific to me. However, if you read my comments, I conceded the name even though the very people I associate with who have an ethnic connection to all of this think it's absolutley preposterous. Go figure... not all people feel the same way. I don't think changing the name was all that bad given it's actual intent, and if some of the population, no matter how minute feel offended, then I agree it was prudent to change the name. what I am trying to say here, is that I actually agree with you based upon my first post, just not in as many words, but to remove a very cool logo along with it was like throwing out the baby with the bath water. If anyone finds a native American logo offensive need to have their heads examined. I will stand firm there. For example, as I said in a differnt post.. Mutual of Omaha changed their logo from a Native American to a lion, What the Actaul EFF for? Karens... that's why. That to me was an insult at its worst level.
  3. I watched the Bucs playoff game with a buddy of mine who is a huge Bucs fan and we both kinda felt like you could tell that was going to be his last game. He looked done. If you can watch that game on gamepass or something you'll see a look, or expression on his face that I'v enever seen before. It was like he was just worn out. Actually, the more I think of it, Jim Kelly had a similar look on his face after the loss to the Jags. It was obvious Jim was done and had nothing left in the tank.
  4. making the playoffs has nothing to do with positional player excellence. It's really geared around individual player performance regardless of injury status, and for those reasons I don't think it's broken. Where I think it's broken is how they have made a joke out of the game with all these changes. I was far more inclined to watch it when it was after the superbowl, I don't know why that was for me, but I haven't watched it one time since they changed that alignment.
  5. Anyone who has known me on here for some time knows I am no homer with my opinions, and tend to lean on the cynical, but I am here to defend scoring both the touchdown and going for 2. 1. We've seen bigger leads disappear in our favor with less time on the clock in the past (see 77 second miracle), so if there's a chance, you bury that possibility. 2. the Bills have been struggling this year mightily on 2 point conversions, and you have a chance to practice one in live game action where more points means harder for the opposition to orchestrate their own miracle comeback, you take that opportunity every time in my book. All I saw there was a team making sure there was absolutely NO chance of a comeback.
  6. I hate the loser 70's blue pants, even more than the all reds.
  7. I find it quite surprising that more people don't see this, especially the network talking heads. Yes, these wins have been decisive, but the offense does not seem to have the same consistency, and Allen's completion percentage so far has been down. Can't dismiss that. I'm not saying Josh is not playing great, I think he os, but that completion percentage has to contribute to the offense slowing down.
  8. I watched the game again and could easily say that the lack of commitment to the running game, coupled with very, very poor offensive line play was what led to the loss. if that continues, then I agree, this team isn't going anywhere.
  9. I don't watch ESPN 8 "The Ocho" for anything other than the Dodge Ball championships, so who cares what those knuckle heads say. I'm not saying he may not be right, but there's 16 more games to be played before a clown like this should come to that conclusion.
  10. Joe Dufek and Bruce Mathison! ahhh the crappy old days.....
  11. I don't really care about anyone's orientation, religious beliefs, or political stance when it comes to football. Nothing about his sexual orientation makes me feel uncomfortable, but I do enjoy the thinly veiled attempt at calling me homophobic, again nice try LOL. What I do care about is those three things being dramatized for the simple theatre of it. Hey's gay, yipee. I do care about the well being of players, up to and including health struggles, as I would like to include them in my thoughts and prayers, however I don't feel Carl needs prayer from me any more that a straight person does for being straight. I have that ability to separate things that way, you on the other hand, don't seem to have that skillset. You don't like my opinion? ohh no! what ever will I do with myself! I dignified your legitimate questions in this post with a response, so now you know.
  12. Ahh yes, both very relatable to sexual orientation LOL. Nice try. I respect your reply, but if we are going to treat each other with the same level of respect and acceptance as those who are not gay, I feel these types of things really don't help unite. I don't have the answer to what will, and I do hope we get there someday, but, in my opinion, this really does less help to the community.
  13. why did he even have to "come out" anyway, his personal life is his business, seems more like unnecessary theater to me. you're gay, whoop-de-frickin-dooo, so are millions of other Americans.
  14. I think Tasker could have been a Wes Welker type of player well before Wes Welker re-defined that type of role. I don't think there was any reason to develop that type of weapon, given the team had HOF caliber players at the skill positions already. A completely missed opportunity in my mind, but hindsight is always 20/20, and before Welker, who knew a small scrappy receiver could be so effective.
  15. I voted I'd be pissed, but would change my vote to yes, ONLY if he makes a post-draft video about craving sacks.
  16. I offered my view, you offered yours. I stand by my statement that none of us should condemn any man, but that does not mean I sympathize with him either.
  17. Of all the things not really football related that shouldn't be discussed here, this is one of them. Did he play football, yep. Are we discussing his football career, nope. I've had posts deleted for far less. Maybe instead of everyone judging the guy, we let a Higher power do that, and pray for ALL those who died on that day. It's not for me or anyone else on this planet to determine where this man will spend eternity, and since I don't know that, I won't condemn him. Trying to understand the cause for his actions makes us human. Mocking or criticizing those who seek to understand makes you a douche.
  18. good. I can't believe they are actually going to pay him to play though.
  19. you kinda figured there would be a majority of Buffalo votes, but in reality I think that's wishful thinking. It boils down to whether or not McBean thinks the team is one player away from the superbowl or not, and I'm fairly sure nobody thinks this team is one JJ Watt away from a championship. On top of that, JJ himself also has a say in where he'd like to play and I still think he want to play a few seasons with Rodgers in Green Bay.
  20. You are in our prayers my friend. It's been more than 20 years since we've shared some pre-game time together, but I hope to again some day, get well soon!
  21. Nahhh, this is the internet. It's always more appropriate for someone to think they look cool by posting a snarky jab at your mistake. Makes them feel clever, like this post is doing for me.
  22. It's not who you're better than from year's past, it's how well you stack up against the teams that stand between you and the superbowl this year. I don't think there's a temperature this team can play at(getting hot) that makes them better than at least 3 teams in the AFC right now, even if those teams play slightly off. I love this team's trajectory, but it's not high enough this year.
