It’s about being a great host. You don’t do this to your guest of honor. They should be in or near the owner’s suite every week. THIS is the stuff that people remember. You ever go to a nice restaurant and the forks are dirty or they sit you next to the kitchen? You have higher standards. If Spikes posted this, I’m willing to bet this wasn’t the only clown thing that happened. Just completely classless by the Pegulas. This is the stuff that is a true reflection of who they are as people.

The Pegulas are bringing their Sabres antics to the Bills. It’s 100% them and whatever talent they hire to manage this mess. Absolutely embarrassing. They should be writing the apology already.

Agree. Diggs did not take the high road. He took the sensitive baby route. Look, Diggs is an ultra competitive winner, but he’s a big pain in the butt. That’s the trade off.

You don’t get it. To be a Buffalo QB you are expecting to win a Super Bowl AND deal with the neurosis of the WNY populace. Basically you are expected to be their hero AND their whipping boy. That’s the unsaid agreement.

It’s just an odd thing to say, much less in a work conference with 40 other people, by a quiet guy to begin with. “Go back to Africa!” It just sounds insane to me. I would literally need to hear multiple people corroborating it and maybe audio proof before I believe freaking shy Terry Pegula told a black guy to go back to Africa in front of dozens of powerful NFL people. Its more believable that someone messed up in the head misheard Pegula mumble something and played telephone with this reporter who is now aiming for a desperate money grab.

The quote sounds like something a black person thinks a white person would say. I don’t buy it either. At worst, some sort of terrible misinterpretation. People who are messed up in the head often mishear things by other people. Happens all the time.

NFL fans are so week to week that they will thinks the Bills are the team to beat and KC and CIN might not make the playoffs this year. This is after hand wringing all off-season. Better to ignore the opinion of 98% of fans. Especially on this board.

Amazing how many people lost faith in this team after all they did last year was overcome impossible situations. Lots of blind people in Buffalo. Loser fans.

Good question. We were walking away from Taylor anyway. I’d say he was slightly above average compared to past Bills QBs. I personally thought he had no balls, but that’s another story. So the question is who would we have gotten at QB if not Allen? I remember hearing about us going hard at Kirk Cousins back then but the price was too high. I think McDermott can squeeze more wins than a typical HC. Just look at how elite we are with bounce back wins since he took over. He’s an elite coach when it comes to culture. I think we’d be a perennial 9-7 and 10-6 wildcard type team without Allen. We’d have more money to spend on other positions. Sign an elite DE or RB along with a Cousins or Goff level QB.

I’ll take a stab at it. McDermott (or McBeane since they work so closely together on roster building) was about +2 or +3 wins above replacement with Tyrod Taylor at QB compared to an average/below average coach like Rex Ryan. Allen is probably a +4 to +6 wins above replacement compared to a Tyrod Taylor. That’s based on going 13-3 last year with 3 close losses that could’ve gone either way. All in all, we’re very lucky to have both.

It all means something. Both come prepared on opening day.

Great talent. First comp I think of is a bigger Russell Wilson.

This post is for the ones who are actually curious to know. 1. It's extremely difficult in a 32 team league with a salary cap to be the one team that wins a Super Bowl. All 32 teams have billions of reasons to win a SB themselves. 2. Unlucky breaks. The entire season last year was statistically improbably in terms of unfortunate incidents. 3. Extraordinary unlucky break. I'm talking 13 Seconds. Perfect storm black swan situation. I think that's about all folks. The reason the Bills haven't won a Super Bowl with Allen yet is due to an unusual amount of unlucky breaks in an ultra-competitive league. Smart money is on the chips falling into place during the next few years.

The goal posts have somehow moved from "we should've drafted Rosen" to "Allen is not doing what Mahomes/Brady/Manning would be doing right now". The more I read, I agree with the idea that some of these posters are sick. Mentally ill in some ways. Not all of them, just a few in particular. Be careful arguing with them too much, they'll drag you down into the dark place they live in, just like they're trying to drag Allen/McBeane down with them.

The defense showed up against the Ravens and won us that game. They should be keeping the rest of the games close for the offense. But I agree, defense cost us both Chiefs games and partly the Bengals game. A better performance and Allen pulls those games out.

I guess I just never got that. “Protecting yourself” from a sports team letting you down. We’re not talking protecting yourself from your girl cheating on you or something. It’s a freaking sports team. Why the heavy emotional blow? I thought we were men here. My sense has been that if it hurts THAT much, your life is out of balance (speaking in general, not to you). It should suck for one day then move on to next season. If it’s a terrible wound that requires “walls” and “pessimism” to fill, there’s something wrong with the person, not the organization.

Some personalities like to destroy. Even the good things. They do it in their personal lives as well. I think that’s the type of people these fans are. They subconsciously want it all torn down again. They are never happy. After we win a SB they will start nitpicking and want it all torn down again. And again and again. NYC is like this to a much higher degree. Just waiting for Jeter to trip up so they can eat him alive. Wilson is the most recent sacrifice and they are just itching for the Rodgers comeback turned washed up story already prepped in the oven.

“When will we hold Beane accountable.” ”Beane only hit on Allen and Diggs.” “Beane can’t draft in the 2nd round”. How is it possible 100 fans on this board suddenly started saying the same thing at the same time? I swear some people on this board secretly want it all torn down so they don’t have to deal with the pressure of winning and rooting for a winning organization.

They claimed every year would finally be the Pat’s demise, but it never happened. Best HC/GM/QB combo in the league. Suck it fake fans.

My sense of that draft was that we needed a CB2 and there was a run on CBs before our pick. Elam was the last CB with a 1st round grade and we took him despite him not really being the guy we wanted. He has amazing physical tools but something isn’t clicking mentally with him yet. There’s still time for it to click and we should give him until next training camp to figure it out. In the meantime we’ve had two amazing late round CB picks to soften the blow. I don’t get these Beane haters. I think they just don’t get it. I think they’ve just spent the last 25 years blaming the HC and GM for everything that it’s just a habit. Winning exposes these fans for what they are. Idiots with personal problems.
