I think the way that Bills fans are used to judging the team is no longer effective. "So and so needs to be better." "This position group needs to improve!" The truth is this team is extremely dynamic and teams game plan differently every game. Does the team rise to the occasion? Do they always find a way to win? Can the team handle adversity? Check, check, and check. THAT is how you can predict who will show up in the playoffs. And we will.

Makes sense logically but doesn't sit well with me, even if we win the toss. Forfeiting is out of the question. Is that what Hamlin would've wanted? Hell no. Loser mentality. "Just give it to em".

For those worried about our chances, there is a lot of scientific literature about peak performance happening during times of grief. Think Favre on MNF after his father died. Let's hope Hamlin is stable soon, and don't be surprised if the Bills BLOW OUT their next opponent. And to top it off, every casual fan in the world will be rooting for the Bills to win the SB now.

I also never give to player charities. They hire shady 3rd party PR firms to run their charities that skim off the top. There are news stories out about them. Some take 50-60% off the top. I know people like to give in times of need, but give smart.

They're currently playing out different scenarios. If Hamlin is stable tomorrow morning, this game will be played this week.

I think that's the move if Hamlin lives, which thankfully it is looking like.

It's all up to what happens with Hamlin. If we hear he's stable tomorrow, then they'll play this game Wednesday and maybe move the Pats game back a day or two and give us the late Sunday playoff game. If not, then there is just no precedent in the NFL.

Why are we even talking the Bills forfeiting?

It went from "just great, Hamlin hurt himself, how are we going to finish the season with Jaquan Johnson" to "wait, Allen crying? Diggs crying? is....Hamlin not going to make it? whoaaaaaaaaa". You could feel the air get sucked out of the stadium right from the TV. Prayers for Hamlin. Bills players crying on the field will be the talk of the country tomorrow. The NFL won't make any decisions until we hear that Hamlin is stable.

I'm not going to defend Skip Bayless ever. But this played a big part in how long it took the NFL to cancel the game. 1. There isn't really protocol for a player ending up in critical condition on MNF. 2. This isn't hockey where you can just fit a game in at the end of a back to back. 3. This is a CRUCIAL game with major playoff implications. It cannot be called a tie or forfeited. 4. It cannot just be moved to tomorrow because we do not know what is going to happen with Hamlin. 5. To move the NFL season back one week is a logistical nightmare beyond anything you can imagine. 6. It's too late in the season to just fit a game into a bye week. So what do you do? This is a black swan event.

Play tomorrow is the move.

It's up to the Bills if they want to play. Not us. If we hear good news about Hamlin, then let them decide.
