Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are worth infinite draft capital.
ToGoGo replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even those deals I would say no to unless Josh wanted out of Buffalo. In which case which one do you actually take? I'm thinking Burrow/Chase. -
We needed 13 Seconds to solidify a dynasty mindset. There is a vocal minority, likely very unsuccesful in their personal life who have an attitude of "No excuses! You failed? You must die! Throw him in the pit! Next up!" Which is very primitive. Very easy to spot these people. I recently watch Four Falls and whomever brought up the 90s Bills was right. They are a great example of sports psychology. Especially halftime of the 4th Super Bowl where were up but the team expected to lose. McDermott is the king of "doing things fundamentally right". "Build the pyramid and time will take care of the rest". This is a guaranteed winning formula as long as it is done with strong discernment, which it is. I'm telling you, if we won the SB last year we would've been 1 time winners. Because of 13 Seconds, I believe we will win 3, 4, or even 5 to truly end the past demons of not just the 90s but also the Pats. Von came here for a reason. The man is a shaman of victory.

Has there been any recent updates on Kim Pegula?
ToGoGo replied to AuntieEm's topic in The Stadium Wall
As "President" of the Sabres and Bills (unless that's changed), they should be more communucative about what is going on. We're told constantly that this isn't just an owner's wife, but an important decision maker in the organization. "One of the most powerful women in sports". So which one is it? Because if Beane was out for months we'd all want to know what's going on and when he's back. UNLESS she doesn't really do anything at either organization. Regardless, I find it strange that nobody seems to want to talk about the PRESIDENT being out indefinitely and there has been no talk of who is replacing her position in the interim. -
We're mostly all guys here. We all understand locker room talk, especially those that played sports. How could any of us sit here and allow Aikman to be cancelled because he spoke the way we've spoke ourselves our entire lives? If your generation wants to be a bunch of dress wearing guys, whatever. But our generation doesn't have to submit to you.

If they change the name of the Bills, it's another reason to pack up and move to another country. In 200 years they'll knock down Allen's statue because he ate meat.

Are you saying that if I think that some games are "nudged" that I also believe in flat earth? Listen to yourself.

What I think we're seeing is the NFL keeping certain games from becoming blowouts during primetime games. The goal is to have a close exciting game to maximize viewers for ad revenue. When did the penalties start? When the Raiders were up big. Then again when Chiefs got within 3 and Raiders had a chance to change momentum. When did it stop? When the Chiefs took the lead. This is not a new concept. The NFL has done this for a while, but they sometimes don't care who wins at the end as long as it's exciting. This is what burned us in the Texans playoff game. When it comes to Brady it's a different story. There's something going on behind the scenes there.

There's truth to these statements, but when you take all 20 or 30 of these records together and interpret them what we've been seeing is that Allen is greatest passing/running dual threat in NFL history. There really hasn't been a barometer to explain that, thus we have these strange records. But they ARE an indicator of greatness.

The NFL (and fans) have been on a recent wave of "RBs are expendable! Don't pay them! Ewwww I don't want Saquon Barkley for a 7th round pick..." and we're seeing the fruits of that. All our RBs are top 3 round picks and what do we have to show for it? Singletary is slightly above average, Moss is average, and Cook might be above average one day but certainly not today. What happened to the concept of "plug in an undrafted RB and we're good"? You can't say the Bills are bad drafters because they're actually the best at every other position. It's not like the RB position is so difficult to draft compared to other positions. It's likely that college players see the writing on the wall and choose to become LBs or WRs instead of RBs. Would Deebo Samuel be a WR if this was 1996 and Terrell Davis was the toast of the town? We're seeing a dearth of talent. It's time for the cycle to go the other way. Great/very good RBs are now undervalued, especially on great offenses. The value of Barkley or Henry in this offense is much greater than their value on teams with average QBs. The sum is greater than the parts. I knew in my gut that fans were being foolish when balking at Barkley and just regurgitating a narrative they heard somewhere. Injury concerns, fine. But saying no to great talent because "RBs are a dime a dozen" is extremely foolish. But it is what it is. We need to win a SB with what we got. It's doable, but Allen can't carry this kind of load forever and have a Brees/Brady/Rodgers type longevity. I've been watching those HOFs get bailed out by their RBs and YAC WRs for decades.

This throw is so good, it deserves its own thread
ToGoGo replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
He can get wiser. Think about how Rodgers and Brady only get a few interceptions a year. Experience will teach him to make better decisions and not overexert himself at all times (running into DTs when we're blowing teams out). And eventually there is the lesson all championship/dynasties learn in every sport. Win in the regular season but save all your extra energy for the playoffs. Even if that means taking the L when it's not meant to be (aka the Dolphins game). Lose the battle if it's going to hurt you when winning the war aka phyrric victory. -
Buffalo sports radio is loser central. Burn it bruh!

We don't have the mentality to win close games
ToGoGo replied to UKBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The eye test said it wasn't some sort of "loser mentality", but rather unlucky bounces, and it was a matter of time before the wins came. For me personally, the people who flocked to that "can't win close games" narrative exposed themselves as not having a good eye for what's happening. There seems to be some sort of internal projection, rather than impartial observation of the team, much less having the ability to spot intangibles. -
Which is what we did.

Week 4, 10/02/22, Bills v. Ravens GAME BALLS
ToGoGo replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was younger than the typical rookie when he started and was thrown into a leadership position he wasn't ready for. Some guys take longer to grow into themselves than others and we're seeing Edmunds grow into an all-pro MLB. Unless he takes a hometown discount, he's going to sign a $75m-$80m contract elsewhere. Steelers or Ravens would love a guy like this. -
He's a rook and he needs to take advantage of his opportunities. You need to earn it out there and he hasn't yet. A few more games like this and I'll begin to wonder about him. Worry? That's for losers.

Bills Never Win Close Games, Bad Coaching!
ToGoGo replied to DieHardBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
When people have an agenda, they'll distort any positive into a negative. Now it's "well they're only 1-7 in their last 8". The game is called "you can never win my respect. Ever."
