  1. Do people really believe it doesn't bother Allen that he was #13 on the list?
  2. It's still better than the 70's when owners like Caroll Rosenbloom were rumored to be betting large amounts against their own teams.
  3. Bravo. Amazing brother. You're my new favorite poster. The truth is an extremely small few can pull themselves up by their bootstraps the way Allen did. The best metaphor are plants breaking through the cement on sidewalks. Will power is the most powerful substance on the planet. But that doesn't make it OK to expect the same from everyone else. There is truth in "grow a pair and be a man" but there are limits for what you can expect from the majority. As always, BALANCE is a universal law. That's the master key lost in simplistic and dualistic arguments. Some call it "grey area" or "nuance" but it's about feeling around and finding that bullseye of truth. Regarding the Miami game, the will to win exerted in that game by Allen and others like Diggs was superhuman. It was to such a degree it seemed the universe began glitching (drops, throws hitting the dirt, missed snaps, etc.) at the most inopportune times. ALMOST like we weren't meant to win that game. So your reference to extremes is even more extreme than what you said because Allen and the Bills DID pull themselves up by their bootstraps in extreme conditions far beyond what the average NFL player can do, much less an average fan judging people with 1000x the mental fortitude they have. And yet they still fell short... And to add insult to injury, the narrative turned towards Tua being a potentially great QB. It's injustice, but as you said, a further mark on societal conditioning to keep everything shallow, and avoid the essence/truth of the situation until the right authority tells us to focus on it, in whatever way we are told to. In this case, all it would require is a report from a respected medical journal about the dangers of a Miami game towards opponent's players, followed by being picked up by a major media outlet for the naysayers in this thread to change their tune, and those on the fence to become outraged. But that wouldn't really solve the true problem here
  4. The problem is very obvious. It's unsafe and unfair. The two teams were not playing in the same conditions. That was clear to see with how the Bills were dropping like flies. I'm genuinely stunned and taken aback that people are not in full agreement that this is incredibly wrong and unethical. Amazing.
  5. 5-1 is surprisingly impressive, no doubt. But Daboll is doing what he did here, leaning on a generational talent. But there has been no improvement in Daniel Jones so far, so they're already on to Plan B. That's the main reason he was brought in, right? What happened there? It's not like Jones lacks natural talent. I'm assuming Daboll will get a chance to draft his own QB in the next draft (or FA). I think that will be a good barometer to measure Daboll vs Allen. If Daboll's guy becomes a good starter, and even slightly exceeds expectations, I think I would be comfortable saying Daboll played a bigger part in Allen than we thought. Until then, I see Daboll as a guy who uses all the talent he has at his disposal to the max, regardless of long-term consequences. I have a hard time forgiving him for running Allen into the ground the last 2 years. Dorsey is showing how running a QB is done.
  6. I keep thinking about the improvised throw to Diggs after the center mishandled the spike in the Dolphins game. Diggs had no idea it was coming but when he saw the ball coming he instinctively realized his QB needed him. McKenzie needs to be more in the moment and less about girls and his restaurant and his persona and other off field crap. I'm also hoping it was also related to lingering concussion symptoms.
  7. There was a movement a few years ago led by analytics people like Barnwell who felt they "proved" momentum doesn't exist in sports. It's sort of the "stop believing your lying eyes" type of analysis which led to everyone making fun of Allen coming into the league. https://grantland.com/features/bill-barnwell-theory-momentum-football/ That's what the previous poster is parroting.
  8. Like everyone else, I was very disappointed with Mckenzie's play, but considering how clutch he has been for us in the past I'm willing to give him another week to prove yesterday was due to lingering concussion symptoms.
  9. Agree. They're too insulated from the crowd and the audience at home. Keep that in mind next time they tell us what a penalty is or isn't or who is having a good game and who isn't. They genuinely might not have any better a vantage point to make that decision than a knowledgeable fan sitting on the couch or in the 100 section.
  10. I don't disagree but come on man. This is a victory lap thread, why try to kill the momentum with the first reply? Control those urges to disagree just because!
  11. A man who built his career on knocking down Lebron James. Looking for another Lebron to leech onto.
  12. To be clear he means a dude named Robbie.
  13. 62 yard field goals and massive YAC plays won't be around forever. Kelce is already pushing it with his age and usage.
  14. Mahomes had a "I can't top that and I'm pissed about it" look on his face.
  15. Let him die on the anti-Bills hill. He's just destroying any credibility he had left.
  16. Cowherd is a gifted blowhard. Lots of people actually genuinely believe he knows what he's talking about. To see Cowherd called out for what he truly is, watch his interviews with Bill Burr.
  17. He's a classic narcissist. Anything that gives him attention is good.
  18. What I don't like is that I've been watching this game for decades and yet they'll bring on some ref "expert" after every play to tell me what my eyes are telling me is wrong. If I can watch a game for 20 years and still be "wrong" about calls, it tells me that the rulebook is way too complicated.
  19. What I love is that every leap so far has been for a successful 1st down.
  20. It clicked for me today the difference between Allen and Mahomes. Allen has to carry the team/organization/fanbase/convince the media to victory every game. Everybody leans on him, and his best players run near the front with him. Mahomes is CARRIED by his O-Line, Kelce, Hill (in previous years), infinite YAC 62 yard field goal kicker, coaches, the refs, media, etc. The poster above said it best. He was given the keys to a Ferrari. You know the difference between the two? At the end of the 1st half, Allen had to drive 99 yards and threw a beautiful TD pass to get the glory. Mahomes had to gain 30 yards and lean on his kicker to hit a 62 yarder to get equal glory. Allen threw a bomb to Diggs, Mahomes needed Smith-Schuster to have 3 tacklers miss so he can run 30 yards into the end zone. One guy carries, the other guy is carried. You know when we won the game today? After Allen hurdled the Chiefs player, the look on Mahomes face said it all. "I can't do that. Oh I need to score a TD now with a minute left or we lose? I don't like that." The more Allen grows, the more the truth comes out. Allen is Atlas carrying the globe, and Mahomes expects the world to give him what he wants. Don't get me wrong, Mahomes is a HOF talent, but he's no JOSH ALLEN. In the image below, guess which one is Allen and which is Mahomes.
  21. They learned from 13 seconds. You take the 62 yard attempt all day.
