  1. Having “house money” does not justify taking imprudent risks. Say I won a thousand $ on a $2 scratch off. That doesn’t mean that I should spend that thousand on more scratch offs.
  2. While Jackson has some scud misses on tape, he also has some damn fine throws plus he isTHE most dynamic running QB that I have ever seen (and I’ve been watching since since 1970). Can he clean up those horrible throws? I don’t know, but I’d rather risk pick 12 on him (or Rudolph) than trade 3 firsts + for any other QB in the draft.
  3. I think Denver at 5 might nix that plan. How is he anything like EJ?
  4. Again, wasn’t Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma in the same conference? Has anyone ever thought the PAC-10 (Darnold and Rosen) was full of even decent defenses? This is not a paid political ad for Rudolph, but I truly don’t see why so many are so down on him.
  5. Please explain what that means. I see it repeatedly and when I watch his game cut ups, I see many intermediate and deep throws and throws with some anticipation. He definitely did not pad his passing stats with a lot of short passes. I remember when Aaron Rodgers was downgraded because nobody had ever succeeded from a Jeff Telford offense.
  6. How do you know that? Is it because you read an anonymous quote attributed to a scout? I remember the Bills flat out stating prior to the draft that Cordy Glenn could not play OT and then drafting him to play OT.
  7. I am not willing to give up 12, 22 and next year’s 1st for any of the QBs in this draft. In my (uninformed) opinion, none of them are sure -thing can’t miss prospects. It it is one thing.to draft Andy Dalton or Derek Carr in round 2, but trading up to (reach) to get Allen or Mayfield is a struggle for me. Not that I think either are bad prospects, but giving up a lot to get either is very risky.
  8. Foles had several opps to prove that he can be a good starter in the NFL and he did not prove that. Could he have figured it out and be a tru “franchise “ QB? Yes, but odds are way against that...
  9. He will have every chance to be a decent QB.
  10. I’m with you on that. QBs get overdrafted every year.
  11. To me, if Mayfield is still available after Denver’s pick, they should start trying to trade up.
  12. White, Rudolph, Lauletta and I read at least one scouting service that said Chase Liston would be a 1st round pick if he were in next year’s draft.
  13. It isn't that I am opposed to trading up, rather I think they have been shutout of that chance now that the Jets are at 3. It is hard to imagine that Rosen and Darnold won't both be gone by pick 3. Denver is at pick 5 and will take Allen or Mayfield. If if you trade with Cleveland at 4, you might get your choice of Allen and Mayfield, but that will be very costly to get one of them. if you can't get ahead of Denver, then you are likely left with one of Allen/Mayfield and Lamar Jackson. If, say it is Allen and Jackson left, do you really want to take one of them? I'm not asking to be snarky, just saying that they are both very risky projections.
  14. I'm not saying that Mason Rudolph IS who they want, but I can why they might like him. I know that some folks on here spend a good deal of time actually watching game cut ups of the prospects, but it feels like a lot of folks have read one or two draft lists and they have formed an opinion only on that. All that I am saying is that Rudolph his excellent size, was a 3 year starter, was highly productive and is reportedly smart and a good leader. Would it be better if his arm was stronger? Sure, but there are definitely things to like about him. For anyone who would like to war has some of his games, several can be found on draftbreakdown.com. Here is one last season against Pitt. Note thieves contain every play involving him during the game - they aren't highlights. http://draftbreakdown.com/2017/12/11/mason-rudolph-vs-pittsburgh-2017/
  15. Nice well informed opinion. Thanks for that contribution.
  16. Yep - Jets’ picks were worth more than the Bills’ picks, no matter what some believe.
  17. The difference is that the Jets’ 6th overall pick was wort much more than pick 12 AND both Jets’ 2nds were higher than the Bills’ 2 2nds. No treally that surprising except to those who thought that the Bills’ draft capital was far superior to all other teams.
  18. Yes and no. i agree that Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Allen are the top prospects at QB. Yet, I don’t think that Jackson or Rudolph or White or Lauletta are much below that level.
  19. Those are not highlight reels. Check it out before commenting. You know that how?
  20. I am not a professional scout, but yes i’ve watched Rudolph’s games on draftbreakdown.com. He is big, 3 year starter, highly productive, reportedly very smart and a leader and reportedly a hard worker. Additionally, most of the draft pundits have him on the border between 1st and 2nd round. QBs are always drafted higher than projected due to demand exceeding supply.
  21. Who do you want to aim for? I don't think there is a chance now to get Rosen or Darnold. I would happily take Mayfield, but I don't see how you get him unless someone at the top takes Allen instead of him. For the record (whatever that is worth), I am not opposed to taking a chance on Allen or Jackson, but I definitely could imagine Rudolph being the kind of guy that the Bills like. Smart, good leader, big, 3 year starter. Admittedly, his arm is not quite as good as the other 4, but Brady and Brees have excelled for years without exceptional arm strength.
