  1. And KC won with a 2nd round rookie Rashee Rice as their lead WR.
  2. I’m not really arguing against your original point, just wanted to add that quickness, route running skill and acceleration are as important or more so as speed. The gauntlet speed point is questionable in my mind - the gauntlet is not a speed competition. Players aren’t competing to see who can run it fastest. It IS encouraging that he could ripen it fast and show good hands.
  3. That’s true, but why do you suppose he didn’t run the 40 again at his pro day? I think it’s safe to assume that he knew his 4.61 was about the best he can do. Similarly, he did not do the 3-cone and 20 yard shuttle agility drills at all - very likely he knew these would not be his strengths. That doesn’t mean that he can’t succeed in the league, but it might well cap his ceiling.
  4. It’s not just speed that gets a receiver open. Quickness and route running skill are as important or more so. Sometimes coaches can implement schemes to get guys open as well. My particular concerns with Coleman is that he failed to get open frequently against college competition. I don’t necessarily blame that on his straight line speed. His lateral quickness looks so-so, but he is at least a fluid mover with excellent size, strength and jumping ability. Can he sharpen his route running? He is young and seems to be a hard worker, hopefully he will improve that aspect of his game.
  5. Not suggesting he can’t continue, only saying it’s not fully proven yet.
  6. Anyone know what the knock on Trotter Jr is? Is it just size?
  7. Just a small sample-size of production. He looked promising, but can he continue now that teams know they have to give him some attention?
  8. They have won a lot. They just haven’t won a Super Bowl. The roster was fading so going “all-in” this year by trading 2025 pick to move up this year would just waste future resources and hinder the retooling.
  9. I was no fan of the Coleman pick, but he will have a role and be decent. I think Rice is the try-hard kid of a legend, but isn’t anywhere near as talented or skilled as his Dad.
  10. I agree, I’ve been suggesting that was the case the past few weeks. That’s why I was against trading 2025 picks to move up this year. The roster is another off-season away from being very good again (of course, just my $0.02 worth).
  11. What does Rice solve on this roster? He isn’t a fast deep threat and would mainly compete with Shorter for 1 spot - best ST wins that duel.
  12. Interesting thought, but how do they fit a vet receiver under the cap this season?
  13. If this was in regards to not taking Brendan Rice, I am happy getting next year’s 4th instead of Rice.
  14. I am a little surprised that that Austin Booker is still available. Very small sample size, but promising ability.
  15. I think it will be Trotter (LB) or a DB like Abrams-Drane or (gasp) Kinchens. To be clear, I am not hoping for Kinchens but S is a need and their DB coach knows him.
