  1. I think Burch is more athletic than given credit for and he appears to have dropped considerable weight this offseason, I think he’s under 270 now. Most of the DEs who are big enough to play the run in base defense aren’t going to be great speed pass rushers. I actually think if they want a DE in round 2 they could pick from Burch, Tuimoloau and Sawyer - all kind of good run defenders with a bit of pass rush (power) - none will be confused Von Miller in his prime.
  2. Except that it’s not a particularly strong CB class - and as we are seeing in the TSW mock, no guarantee that even an overage under-experienced prospect like Porter is available in round 2.
  3. I voted for Watts - I don’t think the need at S is as grave as others do, but Watts is a very good prospect at this point. I would rather have gotten a DT and I think Farmer can be a good player, but Watts is the better more proven prospect. I might be inclined to stretch a bit and take Farmer at 62
  4. That is not an inspiring list. Of the list, I think Watts is the best player. I like Tuimoloau better than some do. Still, if this is what will be left to pick from, ugh. Given this list as the only options, I think they would take Farmer. I don’t really want to vote.
  5. I think you are right- I hope that their pick won’t be a major reach. I think a lot of the favorites that have been talked about here will be gone before 30 anyway. Some of the luster seems to be wearing off of the Grant evaluations. He might make it to 30 and they still might take Amos, Revel or even Thomas.
  6. Harmon is taller than 6’1”. I believe he was 6’4 1/2 at the Combine.
  7. I do like what I’ve seen of Caldwell.
  8. Agree that leaving a major need for a starter is not optimal for the draft, but there is only so much cap room and they just invested in Christian Benford. I would love to have a viable starter option in a vet on the roster so that they don’t have to force a CB, but who is available that they can fit under the cap? It definitely makes me uncomfortable thinking that they HAVE to find a rookie to start at CB or else looking at Dane Jackson starting/playing more than is optimal.
  9. I fit part of this description. If they draft Amos I’ll think they made a slight reach but addressed a need. I think I’d rather have Nolan from that list but the rumors of character issues scare me.
  10. I’m not conceding that they HAVE to take a CB at 30, but rather it’s a big problem if they don’t - unless they have a credible if aging vet lined up to sign if they don’t take a CB at 30. I’ll admit that part of my hang up is that I would not want to part with pick 62 to move up far enough to take a CB by mid-2nd. If they go DT first the candidates that seem to have any potential to start this year will likely be gone by 56. If they go CB first, I am pretty confident that there will still be a decent 1T prospect at 56 or 62.
  11. I know that you understand that just because they were lucky enough to find Benford in round 6 doesn’t mean that their odds of finding another starting caliber CB aren’t better earlier in the draft. To your point, the Bills found Kyle Williams in the 5th - should they wait until then for another DT? Of course, we all wish that CB wasn’t such a dire need - that would allow them to take (insert your favorite prospect/position). it is going to be very interesting to see how they balance value vs needs and how they maneuver around the board.
  12. That’s taking some big risk waiting for CB unless they have a vet free agent fallback lined up (like re-signing Douglas or Stephon Gilmore). My guess is that if there is a plausible CB like Amos or possibly even Thomas that will be the pick at 30. The drop off at DT in back of round 2 looks less steep than does the CB drop off there. Just my guess, though. They would likely be very tempted if Grant or Harmon were still available at 30.
  13. How much is your Agent’s fee?😀
  14. Those late 5ths and the 6th are unlikely to get much in trade and they are pretty late to hope for much more than getting lucky and finding 1 decent player out of those 4 picks. My $.02 worth is use a couple of those 5ths to improve the spot of one of the 4ths. Alternatively, you could package 2 of the 5ths and get about to the middle of round 4 - thereby having 3 4th round picks.
  15. You think more highly of Dane Jackson than I do. I’m happy he is back as a reserve, but I hope he isn’t starting.
  16. I don’t think that describes Bond. It is much harder to find “first round talent” when picking late in the round. 29 players will be taken before the Bills’ first pick. Finding a good starter there will be a win. Of course, we all would like to hit on a great player at the end of the first, but that is the exception rather than the rule.
  17. If they wait until where they sit in round 2, they will be lucky to even get Porter. They could be looking at worse options at CB by then. Now, to be clear I’m not excited about trading up in round 2 because I don’t like the idea of trading both 4ths and I very much don’t want to trade next year’s 1 or 2.
  18. I didn’t mean to say that I would not consider him at 62, rather that it would not be a slam dunk “have to have him”. I could understand pulling the trigger there, but I think there should still be other players at least considered.
  19. I would consider him at 62, I was just saying that I would not think he would slam-dunk be the obvious pick if still available at 62. I would not hate the pick even at 56, but I’d not be super pumped either.
  20. Interesting- do you feel that is because he isn’t fast for his lack of size? I don’t like him at 30, but I think he can be somewhat effective as a pass rush technician- I know he probably already is maxed out.
  21. I am not even sure I’d take Bond with pick 62. I know that just because the Bills met with him it doesn’t mean they are consider him at 30 - I hope not.
  22. What WRs do you think will be available at 56/62? I agree, I'd rather them go DT, CB or DE but I think that might be an easy-needs-based decision because I don't think the WRs there will be enticing. Of course, I'll admit that I don't know what "type" WR they are in the market for. Are they going to continue trying to make Coleman the X? I know they need a deep threat that can beat press and has enough speed/pattern skill to get behind the D. I think for that role that they would prefer >= 6' height and probably 200lbs+.
  23. I'm with you on not being a big fan of Luther Burden, but I think he is a better prospect than was Shenault or Burks. He is verifiably fast, has a solid build and has demonstrated agility/shiftiness. Still, if he quit on his team that's not "Bills DNA". Like you, I don't see any WR who could be available that I would say can't be passed on. Golden is fine and I wouldn't complain if they took him, but I don't think he would help the team more than improving the DL or finding a potential starting CB would. Unlike you, I think it will be surprising if any WR is available at 56 or 62 that is really interesting. Jake Bech - maybe, Jayden Higgins - probably, but he won't be there, Isaiah Bond - depends what CB, DT, DE is there.
  24. Do you mean the Michigan CB who hasn’t done any workouts/drills? I agree that he is a good prospect, but for a CB not to run and do the jumps and agility drills It seems a bit of a red flag. Could be he has a minor, but legitimate, injury but it could also be that he knows he won’t time well. I would happily take him at 30 but I would be hard pressed to give up a lot (likely pick 62) to move to 18 without knowing how fast/explosive/agile he is.
  25. As long as it’s a hamstring and not a knee, hip or ankle I don’t think that this will cause him to slide very far. His game is power and I think there is enough tape vs top competition to show he can play the role of a run stopping 1T. I don’t think he was going to convince anyone that he has a ton of pass rush potential with his 40.
