  1. Agree that Amos is not a “first round talent”, but there are only maybe 15-20 in this draft that are. I’ve read that some teams love Nolan and others have him as a 3rd rounder - so a wide range of opinions. If there is any truth to the rumor that he isn’t particularly motivated then the Bills will stay away from Nolan. Note that I am not saying that the rumors are true (or untrue).
  2. Your assumption that Porter will be available at 56 is very risky. Who is playing CB if Porter is gone? I don’t like how the board fell in this scenario and it is a big quandary. For me, if Harmon or Grant are available at 30, I might nab them and try to get a CB, but they might miss out completely on CB then. I hope that the way this fell is because we’ve all been talking almost exclusively about players the Bills could use and that influenced the picks. If that isn’t true, I think they need to trade up from 56 to be able to get both DT and CB. I don’t want to give up the other 2nd or even the 4ths but they might have to.
  3. If the board falls that way, trading down is a bit attractive but I might be more inclined to trade back from 30 - I don’t think there is much difference in who the Bills would pick (in terms of grades) between 30 and about 40. Another option would be to package a couple of the 5ths with 109 to move up to late 3rd - or 132 & 169 & 170 to move towards to pf round 4?
  4. I would not do that trade either, but I think a late 2nd this year is about what the Bills’ 2026 first would get in trade.
  5. Bond worries me both in terms of the character rumors and that he was ineffective late season and in the playoffs, but I understand that he had a bad ankle. The team does need speed and he has that (and quickness as well). I would have much rather taken help for the defense, but I don’t see much left there. i know nobody wants a RB, but Judkins would bring a power element and ability to grind out yards/close out games that would help the defense by keeping them off the field.
  6. Aren’t you arguing that drafting a CB first for need means they won’t get a DT that they need? Might not have a chance to get West or even Caldwell a round and a half from here.
  7. I understand your conclusion, but they have other chances to meet players as well. That doesn’t mean you’re wrong, but I would hope that they would look at CBs even if they planned to sign a veteran.
  8. Just about every team drafts for need to some level. The Bills are tight on cap space and they have leveraged a number of contracts to create current cap space. Almost any team who has a top CB is going to have to count on cheap rookie contracts for some positions. I’m sure Beane doesn’t like being in position to be forced to fill holes - he has said as much on many occasions.
  9. At this point they should be looking for someone who can be a decent starter or good rotational player. Should not reach too far for a run stopping DT - what’s left looks like marginal value at DT unless they would consider a smaller penetrating guy like Norman-Lott. Don’t love the DEs left either, but Tuimoloau and Burch have solid floors at least. Open to most any position if there is a good prospect there.
  10. I think this is fairly likely, too. I think they can get about the same level prospect 10 spots later as they can get at 30.
  11. I agree that it depends on what the concerns are, but if the issues are motivation and effort I think that’s a big deal. If the issues are that the guy is a jerk, then that’s less concerning but still a concern.
  12. I think in this weak WR class we are so desperate to find a WR that we are seeing these guys as better than they are.
  13. I’m not disagreeing with the strategy, but the CB class this year is not as good as last year’s and DeJean was pick 40 - far earlier than 56. Also, Philly already had their DL in place.
  14. Underrated: Rousseau- I think he is a very good all around DE. Spencer Brown, too. Just a year or so ago the TBD pitchforks were out for him. overrated: I don’t have vote here - we are pretty tough fans to please. Honorable mention to the annual pre-season WR hero.
  15. With you on most of this, but the whispers of character issues with Nolan may be real (we won’t know what the team does). I agree Nolan is more talented than Amos (imho).
  16. Maybe, but I’d feel a lot better getting one by 62. It’s a loooong way from 62 to 109.
  17. I think Burch is more athletic than given credit for and he appears to have dropped considerable weight this offseason, I think he’s under 270 now. Most of the DEs who are big enough to play the run in base defense aren’t going to be great speed pass rushers. I actually think if they want a DE in round 2 they could pick from Burch, Tuimoloau and Sawyer - all kind of good run defenders with a bit of pass rush (power) - none will be confused Von Miller in his prime.
  18. Except that it’s not a particularly strong CB class - and as we are seeing in the TSW mock, no guarantee that even an overage under-experienced prospect like Porter is available in round 2.
  19. I voted for Watts - I don’t think the need at S is as grave as others do, but Watts is a very good prospect at this point. I would rather have gotten a DT and I think Farmer can be a good player, but Watts is the better more proven prospect. I might be inclined to stretch a bit and take Farmer at 62
  20. That is not an inspiring list. Of the list, I think Watts is the best player. I like Tuimoloau better than some do. Still, if this is what will be left to pick from, ugh. Given this list as the only options, I think they would take Farmer. I don’t really want to vote.
  21. I think you are right- I hope that their pick won’t be a major reach. I think a lot of the favorites that have been talked about here will be gone before 30 anyway. Some of the luster seems to be wearing off of the Grant evaluations. He might make it to 30 and they still might take Amos, Revel or even Thomas.
  22. Harmon is taller than 6’1”. I believe he was 6’4 1/2 at the Combine.
  23. I do like what I’ve seen of Caldwell.
  24. Agree that leaving a major need for a starter is not optimal for the draft, but there is only so much cap room and they just invested in Christian Benford. I would love to have a viable starter option in a vet on the roster so that they don’t have to force a CB, but who is available that they can fit under the cap? It definitely makes me uncomfortable thinking that they HAVE to find a rookie to start at CB or else looking at Dane Jackson starting/playing more than is optimal.
  25. I fit part of this description. If they draft Amos I’ll think they made a slight reach but addressed a need. I think I’d rather have Nolan from that list but the rumors of character issues scare me.
