  1. Hes big, versatile, and at a key position where we don’t have a long term plan. And exactly in our win now window. im not holding my breath but it makes a ton of sense if it happens
  2. It wouldn’t likely be a rental for whoever gets him
  3. Honestly, most of us have probably been in a car with each of those at some point, unfortunately luckily, despite the obvious risk, you are still very likely to make it home. That said.... I’m not trying to get in either car... and the extent of the texting makes a big difference in this comparison.
  4. They could sit any of them they want at any time they want. You don’t need an elaborate exaggerated concussion protocol to do so I take back any nearly nice things I’ve said about you
  5. If he is still in protocol, real or top secret fake protocol, through next week I don’t think it’s going out to far on a limb to say that it’s a substantial news event for preseason football. It’s not like resting a guy with a strained muscle or rolled ankle a few extra days. Telling the media he still can’t pass recovery tests after a month is noteworthy.
  6. In your hypothetical- That he’s hung up in protocol for nearly a month is a much bigger media story than he’s good and taking some vet time along the way Its clearly conjecture but given the current situation and info available it’s not wild speculation. Speculative for sure but not crazy out of line with a guy with several concussions and now long term in the protocol again
  7. Yea- I tend to come here with a few self guidelines. I know a fair bit but plenty here can talk above my level and I’ll eagerly admit to learning something. I’m probably about average on actual in depth bills knowledge these days as I’m less connected to buffalo personally lately.. I’m ok with X and Os but like to think that wide angle discussions on league trends and things that are broad based Nfl I’ll dig in a little more on my takes. That dude would go down with the ship and be condescending about it even on things that were clearly not in his wheelhouse. Such is life. We all unreasonably seek validation in our own kooky ways I suppose. Hopefully he’s on to a version that’s better.
  8. Think it was boyst. I wasnt a big fan of his but I wasn’t on the high end of the haters either. Just didn’t think the thread starting was that helpful (the news will make it here either way). Outside of that just thought he was a bit condescending without backing it up without exceptional insight. But heck, I can be guilty of that
  9. Yuuuup. and the only way someone starts thaaaat many copy/paste threads is wanting admiration. eventually the frustrated folks outweighed the appreciation. so be it.
  10. To be fair, that’s relatively average CB3 in a league where you have 3-4 on the field most of the time. If the goal is top 2, thats bad. If he’s option 4 that’s far from a yikes stat
  11. Id be shocked if not against the TOS honestly, as you likely don’t have rights to distro the video. With the NFLs strict policies I’m half surprised you haven’t gotten a cease and desist for the site.
  12. Weve had dozens, more likely hundreds, of posts about how we urgently needed to get a great center because of their coordinating of the line. Im not saying it right or wrong but it is amusing anecdotally how much we talk about things that often end up completely meaningless in the actual team
  13. I blame his helmet leaving him prone to head injuries. Which he clings to because hes a jagoff. its a vicious cycle
  14. Thats what creating 50m in dead money will do to a season.
  15. I don’t know where his head is at this very moment but I’d take his 11,000 yards and 74 touchdowns even knowing he’d cause some head scratching moments along the way. If hes he’s looking for reasons to retire, such is life, but he’s had a hell of a lot of reasons for a team to put up with the headaches
  16. The wheels would have to come off in spectacular fashion not to make the roster this year
  17. Hes also not been great in game situations outside of his brief run last year. Even in college his track record wasn’t great. this will be a real crossroads year for him. He’s got the talent but can he show up day in and day out for the full year? If he does he can be an Antonio brown story (in the good way). If not, he could be back on the street quicker than anyone imagines. I’m optimistic but certainly not betting my house on his success either.
  18. If they are both cool with that, such is life... as long as kids are well cared for too
  19. Growing up with a father as a coach, and marrying a coach... her expectations are probably waaaaay different than anyone here. for him... he might like just having a wife that he knows “has it” and he can be engaged for guys who don’t have that. if things stop working and she’s terribly unhappy and the kids are miserable it’s a different story but if his family is functioning well... more power to them. Ha! I mean, somewhere along the way I picked up not to sweat what makes other people happy. Takes all kinds and they aren’t all going to make sense to me. Unless they are doing someone wrong, go nuts with it. I admittedly cringed quite a bit reading he texts her to order him Uber eats ?
  20. I definitely agree with stocking the cupboard for Allen. You’ll note that I’m only making this point with the condition that many seem to think shady has taken a step back and the first two options to spend the money were swapping a pick for a proven starter at RT or TE. If anything I might be more all in with supporting Allen than even you in this hypothetical. if someone thinks he’s a 1250 yard guy, and gores totally done... you keep McCoy. But as an 800 yard guy with extremely limited touches because we have great depth? Nope. That can’t be the plan/expectation.
  21. Ironically, I’m one of the loudest “spend the money” guys on the entire board. So swing and miss there. You cant pay a RB top 5 starter money for multiple years to get bottom 5 starter stats. I’m not sure whether he’s that guy but many in this thread are predicting it as an ok outcome. I’d be glad to look at a trade at TE (brate, Rudolph?), maybe contribute towards a Trent Williams deal. Or who knows who shakes loose the next few weeks. Would you be upset to add a solid vet depth linebacker and look hard at pass catchers? We should be willing to overspend for guys. We should not be overspending on shady unless he can differentiate himself from the 3 other backs. Frankly, it is a cash issue in that you don’t pay a guy to be a top 5 running back unless you think he’s at least top half of the league or you are crippled by lack of depth.
  22. If you think he’s that player I’m all for paying him but many of these predictions are rather replaceable. If you think he’s an 800 yard guy that’s losing carries to gore, singletary and yeldon he’s got to go and you spend that cash on upgrading something else.
  23. Ultimately, everyone’s different and if it works for their relationship, it’s hard for me to judge. Plenty of couples out there do things that would never work for me. its entirely possible he’s a caring guy and his wife’s just not into having a real partner. Sometimes the right people find each other.
  24. I don’t know if 1500 is the magic number but all these sub 1000 predictions sure sound like endorsements to not just trade him but cut him if we don’t receive offers. and I don’t think most realize that. 1000 yards from scrimmage at a glance appears to be 24th among running backs last year. we can’t have that be the “up” year for a guy that’s top 5 compensation at his position. That should be the minimum expectation, not a reasonable aspiration, for a guy in his pay grade
  25. Thats terribly pessimistic for a guy top 5 in cash paid and top 3 in cap hit this year. That the expectations are so low speaks volumes
