  1. I think we have a solid group but I think you have to keep stocking it consistently and it was good not great.
  2. Weve also had a guy directly negotiating with him for the last year which is unique
  3. If Allen’s a flop, we are starting over anyway. Having a good pass rusher isn’t the end of the world there.
  4. It means clowneys contract would be in its twilight and you structure Edmonds to slide behind it with a big signing bonus that pushes cap to year 2-3 when Clowney is coming off the books. its the definition of the kind of move a team like ours should be making with some superstar today. It’s much harder to resign the 1st round pick alongside Edmonds and Allen than to spend the money now to ensure you get the impact if you are letting someone walk in 4-5 seasons regardless
  5. It also would send a hell of a message to 52 other guys about immediate expectations. This is isn’t a compete for a wild card move. This is a go for a championship move
  6. Because most people don’t plan a 5 year turnaround like many here discuss as the plan. They can flip this year and plan to compete in what could be a wide open division in 2020 pretty easily as an expectation
  7. His sophomore year he had either a sack or forced a turnover in 10 out of 12 games. in the other two he had 3 tfl and then a tfl w/ 2 PDs i suspect motivation questions are protecting his body when being forced to play for free questions
  8. Jokes aside- if making this move you have to be expecting a bottom 5 or so pick not a top 10 pick - which is a substantial reframing to the discussion
  9. Whats the commonality? Or is it paying anyone that worries you?
  10. I don’t think a 3 that we are essentially hoping to be end of the third gets it done. If you think we are we are a good team you have to bump up a round from what we’ve discussed for a long time for value of picks
  11. If you believe in a 12 month turnaround instead of multi year, grabbing a pass rusher in his prime makes a ton of sense long term
  12. I’m surprised it hasn’t been linked much more often honestly. It makes a ton of sense
  13. If you want to look at situations like that and bet on it being the norm, you do you. ill bank on a qb that wins 29% of his game and averages less than a td per game not to have many winning seasons. Not impossible but takes a hell of a lot to align
  14. Clearly, I was just talking in the absurd hypothetical. Obviously he isn’t hopping into a cubicle anywhere
  15. While not as relevant to architecture, he surely has a lot of experience a 21 year old out of college would not. A degree plus nearly a decade managing an empire plus leadership skills, etc.... would clearly jump him past most ground floor employees in most fields even ignoring the star boost and just looking practically
  16. Tea but one might refer to him as an exception in his durability and physicality, not the norm
  17. Skelton!
  18. Dearest Mother, I have tired of the constant skirmishes and battles of this long and dreadful war, and fear my heart is no longer in leading the regulars. I take my leave, and will study in peace for the years to come.
  19. We often, maybe always, had a better qb situation. In a qb driven league. How many winning seasons were there? They may show up to play but if it’s a winning record it’s the wheels coming off everyone in the division plus some extra breaks
  20. I’d, unfortunately, bet that in front office circles this will reinforce the notion that guys with other life options are less valuable to a franchise im also curious in player circles if this will have anyone think twice about themselves (it’s one thing when a mediocre guy walks but a franchise player?!?)
  21. You just watched 20 years of decent defense and some talent but no QB and you still post this straight faced?
  22. I don’t doubt he’s hurt. I do not think it’s a career ending injury beyond him deciding he’s tired of dealing with injuries. The reason he’s dealt with injury in this way was in part the colts fault. He has still made the decision not to come back. I would be shocked if doctors told him he cannot rehab and should retire. There’s nothing wrong with making the choice but that’s very much a choice and shouldn’t be lumped in with career ending catastrophic injuries.
  23. Why is it crazy how they are painting it how it is? also, is frank reich their best QB now?
  24. I guess something like shady, ty and a 2 miiiight be in the range for discussion shady has pretty limited trade value but maybe helping two needs and a high pick is enough to start chatter?
  25. With 4.5m guaranteed it would be a pretty amazing whiff if they don’t keep him
