Michael Lombardi hints Dareus to the Patriots
NoSaint replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and if you have enough money that you are set for life 3 times over, priorities can change a lot from work to things more fulfilling or fun when you watch lives end very early. Easy for a guy like him to say screw it I only live once and go out with his friends instead of showing up to the gym at the crack of dawn. -
surely the guy that checks hundreds if not thousands of house numbers a day is aware he should look without you emailing his boss to tell him that he should look at the huge number on your house. of course it’s your right, but seriously think about it.
-
so what’s the upside on reporting it?
-
If not a regular issue, let it be. It’s a astronomical unemployment. Give a free pass unless it’s commonplace for the guy to mess up.
-
yup. Being better than average is his price of entry to the conversation these days. It won’t indicate he’s the guy, but is a step towards it as he hangs with the trajectory. If he falls short it’s trouble, if he’s good it’s on to the next test.

PHI Eagles projected to be $40+M over the cap in 2021

right, it’s possible to make a run with plenty of rosters but some key positions being good certainly helps -

I’d likewise be surprised but not sure watching a goal line run vs an rbi double in the gap would lend itself to the term splitting hairs here. They are drawing lines in between all kinds of gatherings that are much more similar to each other than these. -

kind of feeling the same way. The polar opposites of total disregard for science paired against an over the top fear has really done us no good. If we could’ve followed a measured and practical approach across party lines I think it could’ve been realistic to have sports and probably even an ok attendance level. Now I won’t be at all surprised by a full cancellation -

It’s Drew’s last year. The windows closing. They will see what happens at qb after but that’s a matter of opening a new window it’s really a shame the saints didn’t get another ring. Hell of a stretch of losses in the playoffs. that whiffed tackle on diggs, the obvious rams call, etc... i want to say in a 10 year run they had like 5 playoff losses on the final play (vikes x2, beastquake, rams, and I think niners if I remember correctly) -

Dawkins makes "Honorable Mention" on ESPN top tackle list

honestly most teams don’t have 5 solid lineman either. It’s not a bad crew -
yup. Most places will realize this is a bad spot to force an 18 year old to make a decision to play or not... ncaa is still kids playing uncompensated and has the dark underbelly of unreasonable coaches that hold grudges. suddenly a kid has to quarantine or be in a bubble for months for free because he wants a fair shot at making the team next year, for instance?

And no governor will want to touch that sacred cow... but with the major spikes, you might see it trend that way if they don’t figure a way to safely start practice soon. I’d guess NFL will be a real indicator. If they cancel, good bye SEC. nfl cut preseasons down, these guys cut the fluff. Nfl will need to make the big decision first though as now they have games early September and likely all these won’t til October. Politically it’s one advantage of cutting the non conference and starting later for the college guys. You get to follow the nfl instead of work alongside it. The pros get to either take the heat or be the Guinea pigs.

Malcolm Jenkins says “Jewish People are not our problem”
NoSaint replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
so he gave a brief social media post on a complex/loaded issue. By its very nature that’ll leave a lot of holes. How you fill in the gaps and then project intent will be a bit of a Rorschach test. based on following Jenkins a bit and knowing plenty of folks in the movement, my own assumptions of his intent are much mellower than yours- though certainly there are some in the lane you describe. in this case it came across to me as essentially both groups have their traumas and both suffer their own oppressions. They can each acknowledge each other’s situation and shouldn’t fall for the trap of arguing with each other instead of focusing on changing bigger issues. And only being able to expect so much from other groups fighting their own fights. Almost akin to not hating your neighbor for his political beliefs when the government is screwing you both. That doesn’t mean you have to pick up his specific causes but instead of fighting him, each focus on fighting the power in your own ways. In this case, Chan, unfortunately for you as the non minority (or politician in the government if you will) you will be asked to come to the table to do lifting with their battles and be “with or against” while they likely won’t be coming down hard on other citizens to fight every battle all the time on behalf of everyone. -
think he’s publicly asking for a trade over 750k?
-
they haven’t decided they WILL play in October, just that they won’t cancel yet. weve been watching this around the country with conventions, festivals and concerts. I will say through the 3rd quarter no ones begun to consider penalty for cancelation. 4th quarter partners tend to try to work together (see ideas like a future year replacement game, hugely reduced cancel costs). Q1 next year is starting to get contentious though with some organizations trying to cancel events. and on a real practical level no AD will want to sign with UB for one of these games in future if they pursue a substantial amount. and again that’s assuming the strictest possible FM clause with no exceptions for pandemic, health advisories, commercial impracticability etc... I will bet substantially UB has cancelled events later than this game citing an impossibility clause to avoid payment though.

he’s paid as a slightly below average starting back. Put a number on what you think he should be paid.
-
Plenty of mediocre backs put up big numbers on 100-150 touches. I can get on board for touching up his deal but it’s not far outside his role or production as is

the ramifications wouldn’t be devastating. They’d be unfortunate. that I agree with. I’ve been wondering if more than health it’s lifestyle concerns. Or just that as humans we are bad at risk assessment. -
cant play a game September 5 and can’t play in October are very different. Especially given that playing a game requires a certain level of preparation that in some places cannot be started yet. ive been dealing in nothing but force majeure for large events since this started and would be shocked to see it challenged unless they try to replace the games with others over the same dates. this article assumes the absolute strictest versions of the clause in place and a judge that would enforce it at the strictest level. No other legal arguments I’ve seen assume that judges would come close to that on events in a shorter term window.
