  1. https://nypost.com/2020/11/26/100k-raised-for-namesake-of-arlo-guthries-alices-restaurant/ Nearly 2,000 people pitched in over the last two months to a GoFundMe for the 80-year-old hippie, who’s been hit by hard times since the 1967 release of Guthrie’s 18-minute talking blues ballad. “It’s been tremendous. God, what a relief,” Brock told The Post on Thursday about the outpouring of support. The Brooklyn-born woman’s home and former diner in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, were the setting of Guthrie’s song about how the singer’s 1965 Thanksgiving Day arrest for littering kept him out of the Army during the Vietnam War.
  2. I can't find the exact quote, but the late, great Tony Gwynn - one of the absolute best hitters in the history of Major League Baseball - was once asked about coming into every season overweight (he always was). His response was something to the effect, "I don't see too many skinny guys doing what I do."
  3. Grizzly Adams is gay??????????????????
  4. The majority of his fights were not that quick. And back then, there were high quality undercard fights, so boxing fans still got their money's worth.
  5. I hear you. I was an avid boxing fan in my youth (late 70s - 80s) and remained a big fan through the early 90s. Wasn't long before I let myself realized it was a rigged sport and I stopped watching it to this day. But man ... Tyson and Jones were two of the last fighters I loved to watch. I might splurge.
  6. No worries! I sometimes have trouble getting it in right.
  7. They're doing eight 2-minute rounds.
  8. Finally, Albany has gotten over the Jets.
  9. YES!
  10. Maybe you can order it, then facetime me with your phone showing the TV while you don't speak.
  11. It's $50. I'm torn. I heard this morning that there was a "no knockout," rule, which would be impossible to enforce. If Tyson goes animal on Jones and I miss it, I know I will regret it. But $50 is a lot to gamble with. If it's a crap display, I'll be pissed. It's this Saturday night, so it could very well end up being an impulse buy, depending on how good they're going down.
  12. He was in that band when he became famous, yes. He no longer wears a costume.
  13. Americana? Low standard Americana? Exiled standard Americana?
  14. @T&C - Dude .... you were right there. Come on!
  15. They are. But it's not Tom Scholz, although he fits many of the hints (but he became famous with Boston and is still with Boston). I've seen Dweezil twice with the Experience Hendrix tour. He can play.
  16. All of those bands are not defunct ..... In fact, four of them are still touring.
  17. Carl Lewis?
  18. Yes, it was .....
  19. Not Frampton ... but he is a Les Paul player.
  20. Manopause is real, man. Next question?!!?
  21. I love watching baseball. I love listening to games on the radio, too. People who find it boring don't understand the game. I get it. I think hockey is the most boring sport in the world - but I know that I feel that way because I don't understand the game. It's a shame that they're changing the game to try to lure new fans. It's a fantastic sport and I really hate to see any drastic changes being made.
  22. You asked these questions in this format: What city was band formed in? Was the band formed in Chicago? Tommy Shaw? I answered: NYC I said NYC No.
  23. @ExiledInIllinois NYC I said NYC No.
  24. It is still around. Nope.
  25. Not the Red Rocker.
