  1. I live in Maine, and I can get 24-oz man-cans of Genny Cream at a couple of select locations, but that's it. No 12-packs, cases, bottles, etc. The good news is they are only a buck. I brew my own beer and enjoy the good stuff, but if you're talking about beers that ring in at 50 cents per 12-oz. serving and can be quaffed continuously for an entire Sunday, in my opinion you just can't beat the Screamer.
  2. It's a crying shame that western NYers prefer a Canadian beer for their daily grog when there is a perfectly good macro-swill brewery in their own back yard. Genny Cream Ale is my game-day beer of choice. Silky smooth, with more depth than you get from the rice water coming out of Milwaukee and St. Louis. The most unique and enjoyable brew in the lineup. It breaks my Rochestarian heart that there is not a green can in every hand at the Ralph on Sundays. I find Genny Red Eye to be inoffensive but bland, an ideal stand-in for Labatt Blue. Genny Light is so bland that it actually is offensive to me, but if you are a light beer drinker then it matters not, because they are all the same. And 12 Horse Ale, well, I guess that's an acquired taste. It has always had oily, industrial undertones to me, but some people love it. At least it's different. I'm not saying Genny beers are world-beaters, but they stand up to any mass-produced lager you'll find in the Wegmans walk-in, including the exalted Labatt Blue. They're like the Buffalo Bills of beer - The aren't the best, but they're OURS! Go grab a 30 rack and show some local pride! I have plenty of love for Utica Club.
  3. I doubt this was a "panic move". I have to believe that the FO had been looking for alternatives at #2 QB throughout training camp, considering the way Tuel and Thad were playing. An opportunity to sign someone like Orton doesn't just happen on demand - they had to wait until he was available to them.
  4. For me, it's a toss-up between Schmidt's Gay and Colon Blow.
  5. Ha ha, I used to watch DeNarius tear it up for my alma mater, the mighty Montana State Bobcats. He was a heck of a player. In Division 2.
  6. In 20 years, it will be renamed the Hall of Kiko Alonso.
  7. I lose $20 on this bet EVERY YEAR.
  8. Not that I would ever want it to happen, but if the Bills were to deal a RB to a team that desperately needed a short-term fill-in, Fred would seem to be the more logical choice, no?
  9. Welcome to Football Heaven. We are going to have one heluva locker room next year.
  10. I don't think that's a real interview. Just my opinion. It sounds like a word-for-word Bills fan defense of the draft choices, presented as an interview with a "retired NFL scout", who for some reason refused to be named.
  11. Evans. Yeah, he's big and tough, but he also looks clumsy and slow to me. No juke and jive at all. Anyone who thinks he's the next Megatron is smoking the ha-ha. Beckham, too. I don't want to see the Bills take a receiver at #9 unless he's really a game-breaker, and if they trade up for one, then yeah, I'm gonna freak out. Personally, I hope they surprise me the way they did with EJ.
  12. Some of my faves: Remo Williams Tennessee Williams Gunther Gabel-Williams Dave "Tiger" Williams John "Star Wars Sountrack"Williams Andy "Moon River" Williams William Carlos Williams Wendy O. Williams
  13. No love here for Megatron? I love to watch players who have superhuman ability and actually make good use of it. AP also comes to mind.
  14. Wow, the hate is unbelievable. Not to be a troll, but I have to say that there are some really pathetic human beings on this board. How about some perspective - Fitz came from a college where football is an afterthought, has half the arm of his peers, and yet somehow has managed to start 70+ NFL games over 9 seasons and get paid millions of dollars for it. Oh yeah, also his wife is smoking hot and he will retire a very wealthy man well before his 40th birthday. He will never be NFL MVP, but he is certifiably awesome in my book.
  15. Prince was my favorite ever by a long shot. I think the Black Keys would be awesome, though it would never happen. How about Beck?
  16. Hindsight is always 20/20. Marshawn had some bright moments as a Bill, but he left the Bills little choice with his off-field troubles. He is twice as good now as he was back then. A better return on the trade would have been nice, but the Bills were over a barrel because they were willing to do whatever it took to move him. That's business.
  17. Ah, the Sour Grapes thread. What can you say, besides "Hat's off"? Brady and Manning are amazing quarterbacks and really nice guys, too. If only they were Buffalo Bills.
  18. ACL and PCL injuries don't heal by themselves (there is almost no blood supply to the ACL), and so they require surgical repair. However, once fixed, the new ligament is just as strong as the old one. That said, the knee alignment and laxity of the ligament can be a bit funky post-surgery. MCL and LCL injuries do heal themselves, as do a small percentage of cartilage tears (ones occurring near the periphery of the knee). Basically, the further towards the interior of the knee, the less blood supply there is, and therefore the less healing. Most cartilage injuries are permanent. A typical arthroscopic operation involves shaving off a flap of cartilage and smoothing out the surface. It improves the function of the knee, but that tissue is often lost forever. Shallow cuts are not a big deal until later in life, but if the cartilage was cut to the bone it will present immediate problems and worsen over time. Microfracture surgery is the option of last resort for cartilage damage, and it's a long and uncertain road to recovery. EJ missed the most regular season time due to a MCL sprain (fully recoverable), then later I think he dinged some cartilage and had it scoped. I think his preseason injury was also a cartilage thing. So he probably lost a bit of cushioning (articular cartilage) or lateral support (meniscal cartilage), and unless it was meniscus tissue in a very fortunate location, he's probably not going to fully recover from those injuries. I don't think they were major tears, though, so he won't notice much difference (except maybe in colder weather...). If they were major, he would have missed more time and perhaps undergone microfracture after the season.
  19. I'm surprised we don't see the free kick more often. These days most NFL place kickers can hit one from 60+ pretty easily with no defensive pressure. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Maybe it's just a very rare occurrence to have a fair catch within that range at the end of a half?
  20. The TD to Graham was horrifying.
  21. All sprains are not created equal. I "sprained" my ACL once, and it was actually torn halfway through. It's my understanding that with knee ligaments, a partial tear is referred to as a "sprain" of varying grades. MCL and LCL sprains heal themselves - even full tears, with immobilization, but the time it takes depends on the severity of the tear. ACL and PCL have very little blood supply, so they tend not to heal much at all without surgical reconstruction. Freddy's MCL sprain was probably very superficial, whereas EJ probably tore a good part of the way through his LCL.
  22. There's always plenty of salary cap room when your QB is Jeff Tuel.
  23. What's so "unthinkable" about beating the Saints? Improbable, sure, but the Saints are not the '85 Bears and the Bills are halfway decent this year.
