Credit to Bojo for stepping up his holding game

He seems to have an overall esoteric value that only fans can recognize, and a skill set that most experts admit. So much like Jim Kelly. Kelly had his mobility and injury concerns. Allen has his “hero ball” and sometimes inexplicable inability to see wide open receivers. And unlike with Ryan Fitzpatrick, we’ve already accepted his downsides, embraced his high ceiling, and act amazed when he actually progresses. Pretty much the exact opposite of Fitz now that I think of it. That being said, any other GM in the league will say:

This. Our team specifically has historically been discriminated against. Last years Texans playoff games two overturned calls by New York, the Rams INT (which, by rule, had to be a fumble in order for possession to change because an INT couldn’t be simultaneous possession and should be petitioned to be asterisked in the stats), and other examples that escape me at the moment. Part of me feels that McDermott doesn’t want to waste time outs on things that are out of his control and, most times, seem to defy logic. Similar to challenging a basketball foul which is the most subjective in sports. The other part knows that McDermott more importantly is a no excuses type coach. He seems to understand better than fans that bad calls are a part of the game.

Every time someone wants to chant about “team identity” and/or “establish the run,” I have flashbacks of all those games against the Pats where BB started the game with 15 passes and 2 runs. Then when they had a nice comfortable lead, it was suddenly run heavy just when we had compensated. It’s so awesome to have signal callers that can actually put the opponent on their heels for once. No one knew what the Pats identity was. They just knew they had weapons and they could unleash them at any time. Why have an identity at all? I will gladly eat crow on this one. Who knew he had it in him? Outstanding! That sack/strip was amazing. One more game with that stat line and I will buy his jersey.

Arizona is a good example of that exact scenario happening. It’s a little early to call it a complete success, but it seemed obvious that the Rosen era was a misfire and Murray seems to have a higher ceiling. Now having said that, I would very much like our defense to expose Murray and make him look ridiculous Sunday after next.

This is just infuriating that it would happen days after the trade deadline. I would hope that if McBeane & Co knew we had 2 busted LBs, one on IR, and one who forgot to be an LB, they would have made moves besides raiding the FA fridge for left overs. If we can salvage a playoff appearance without an LB corps, Frazier deserves an award and McDermott needs coach of the year

It’s interesting that we are fine with boxers/MMA fighters being concussed constantly for their entire career including sparring/training. THEIR money/health ratio is somehow more appropriate than NFL players with protective gear, concussion protocols, and who are paid more.

Knee jerk reaction time. Has McBeane and Co whiffed as badly on defensive talent as much as they seem to have on AJ Klein? He’s got a 3 year 18 mil contract with 9.7 guaranteed and the only discernible highlight play he has made in hindsight was to not tackle Newton so he could get the ball punched out by Zimmer.
