Is Mahomes better than Josh Allen and Tre White ... now?
Wizard replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes...Mahomes is better than Allen and Tre White right now. He has a Super Bowl ring and an MVP award. If Josh Allen and Tre White can win a title, Allen an MVP award, and play the next 10 years comparably to how Mahomes plays, then, yes, they will be as good if not better than Mahomes. -
I think 11-5 is very realistic. This is a talented team that has a lot of promise. I expect a solid win or two against top tier teams and a bad loss as part of a successful learning curve. If we can get some health at the second CB spot and improve the run defense, Bills will be a tough playoff out.

No...injury prone and would cost too much. Now, Kelce, Kittle, Edwards, Higbee, and the Raiders TE is something that ain't happening but would be intriguing.
-
I like Milano, but not at $12-15 million. He sits more than I would like. If Dodson is 75%-80% of Milano, we should be good.
-
I know he isn't a player, but I am going to go with Chris "Can't Report" Brown.

there are the "hall of very good" or "great for a season or two" that get in. I sort of wish the 10-20% best had a separate wing that was reserved for legends. My personal opinion is all of the major sports Halls alls are watered down with too many "very good/great" players. I personally only want to put in Manning, C Woodson, and Megatron. The other guys all have caveats or justifications to consider. I could see arguments for the McNair (small college, MVP, tragic death), Boseli (probably a top 7 tackle of all-time as far as talent), Willis (supremely dominant but left early), Faneca (solid guard and did a lot for players union), Lynch (Super Bowl winner, good interview, and successful coach thus far). Seymour (he was a Patriot), and (Holt/Wayne because they out up gaudy numbers in their time and kinda sucks if they don't join Bruce and Harrison). Give me the only 3 surefire guys!

YoloinOhio did an excellent job pointing out the depleting linebacker corps after today's game. Hopefully all of our starters are healthy for week #2. If the Bills needed two linebackers to "circle the wagons" for a few weeks and maybe strengthen the linebacker group, who would you want to sign to pair up with Andre Smith from the Practice Squad? 1. Nigel Bradham 2. Darron Lee 3. Alec Ogletree 4. Another free agent or a low round pick trade?

Which Bills did you draft in fantasy?
Wizard replied to BuffaloBillies's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills Defense, Moss, and Brown. Moss and Brown are my 5th RB and 5th WR respectively. -
I can see Vincent Taylor being back up with the Bills by October. I think that will solve the DT issue. Logan Ryan or Demarious Randall would be an upgrade in the CB front and releasing Boettger would allow still for 9 OLinemen. That corrects the DB depth issue. I see Darryl Johnson, Lee Smith, and any interior OL lineman besides Morse or Spain being replaced by Vince Taylor, Tommy Sweeney, and Feliciano. This helps solve the overall depth issues.

I too was surprised by Del'Shawn Phillips making the roster. I guess it is a combination of his versatility and ST ability as well as that our LB quality after Edmunds and Milano leaves much yo be desired.
-
Which person or position was the biggest surprise to you that made or was cut from the roster? And, why? For me, it was either Evan Boehm because he can play the pivot and was insurance until Feliciano returned and/or Marlowe because of his veteran experience level and capable backup play. What about for you?

Simple.... He won one historical game, played in a large market, polarizing figure, fur coats, a celebrity. It is amazing how close these characteristics resemble politicians, many athletes, entertainers, media personalities, and high-level CEO's. The best part is that these characteristics transcend time period, race, political persuasion, and so much more.

If You Could Take One Bill to Lunch...
Wizard replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the person I would most enjoy eating lunch with would be Fred Jackson. A powerful underdog story, a solid player during a playoff drought, and by all accounts, a high-quality person. I would ask him the following: What things do you most remember scouts and organizations telling you that motivated you as a small school prospect trying to make the NFL? A second question might be along these lines...Which Bills players and coaches taught you the most about how to be a man, a professional football player, and advice on how to live a quality life? -
Predict the season...hmm We will play some games. We will win some games. We will lose some games. Some players will get injured. McDermott will do a lot of clapping. We will see improvement overall and make the playoffs. We may get a new marketing department. I predict it will not include Russ Brandon. Go Bills!?

Norwood’s XXV game jersey up for auction
Wizard replied to 4_kidd_4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we send a jersey to Thurman, he may have it misplaced on the sidelines next to the helmets. -
Bills work out a few players today
Wizard replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am curious about Trey Adams. I remember after the draft people were talking about his size and talent but his injury history, speed, and attitude may be a drawback. Any idea how he is looking in the OL camp competition? -
Which Bills' WR/RB/TE Gets the most career catches AS A BILL?
Wizard replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will go with Dawson Knox and hope he averages 45-50 receptions over 10 years as a Bills player. It would be nice for the Bills to have an average or above average tight end for 10 years. It has been way too long! Not sure if offense will feature Knox the next two years with 3 WRs and 2RBs needing touches though. -
Forget Diggs! These 4 Free Agents need to produce!
Wizard replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree these four need to contribute, but I am not concerned about any of them in particular. All seem to have solid character and these are players with starting or frequent rotation experience adding depth and consistency to an already solid defense. None of these players are JAGS. Solid contributors who bend but don't break. None of these players are signed to cost-prohibitive contracts, so the young drafted core players that Beane and Co. want can be signed. Cap and overall depth is in good shape. Yes, I would like a more solid backup QB, a more experienced 4th linebacker, and a belief that Norman will be the solid #2 CB he can be, but every roster has some holes and flaws. Addison, Jefferson, Klein, and Butler are good adds. -
Makes sense unfortunately. He sits out the year and has even more leverage toward getting that huge payday going forward. Smart move from a business perspective, especially with all of the uncertainty of a season and health matters. He saw these recent paydays of top-shelf players and wants his cut, NOW. This paycheck sets him for life and will want as much guaranteed money up front. This season is still on the brink as far as being played, so worst case scenario for White is getting some money to hold him over until coming into next year's training came asking for the Brinks trunk. Not a "Process" move, but this is White's one guaranteed shot a multi-generational wealth.

Revisiting Clowney & a Look at Logan Ryan
Wizard replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with comments about these players possibly not being a fit, too overpriced, overrated, etc. My interest in them or others is I believe each team will have multiple players opting-out plus normal injuries. With a more limited pool of players, playoff contenders may pay a small premium if we overload some positions with talent/depth. While it may be true that Clowney and Ryan are not stars, they are better than average and may be better than several of our starters. I see neither as a long-term answer, but they could make us an even more formidable defense in the playoffs. They also are knowledgeable of some tougher AFC teams (Houston, Tennesee, and New England) as former players. And, before the year is done, we can flip them, if desired, for a few additional 2021 picks. Thanks for your thoughts. -
If Clowney and Logan Ryan could be picked up for say $20-$25 million for this year on one-year deals, would you want Beane to make that offer? (Say Clowney at 13-14 mil and Ryan at 7-8 mil). Clowney would be no worse than a #2 DE. Logan Ryan would be a for sure #2 as he is better than all CB's minus Tre. Essentially, it is a more expensive but low-risk one-year tryout for two guys who would make the defense even stronger for a team that needs its QB to be a top 15-20 QB. Last year, the 49er's made a Superbowl with a 15-25 level QB and a top 5 defense. Hughes, Clowney, Oliver, Star, Edmunds, Milano, Klein, White, Ryan, Poyer, Hyde, and depth on Defense coupled with a weakened AFC East sounds like a reasonable chance to make the 2nd round. ***Clowney and Ryan or guys they replace become possible draft picks by flipping them too other teams, especially as teams lose depth to COVID opt-outs. Worst case scenario is we get two guys that add depth. Best case, we make a stronger run with these two or we turn these two into 2021 picks that are cheap but valuable assets that go nicely with our salary cap for when we pay people like White, Edmunds, Dawkins, or Milano.

NFL will allow social justice decals on helmets
Wizard replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There probably is a list of approved sayings vetted by a "non-partisan" board of people. People chosen will be appointed by mayors and governors of cities that have had the most protests that became riots, inner-city turmoil, and violence against others and building property damage rates. Increased percentages of media coverage generated on specific media outlets can factor in. Social workers will be appointed to serve as game commentators, referees, and security at events. -
ESPN FUTURE POWER RANKINGS NEXT 3 YEARS BILLS #14
Wizard replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are only 4 teams I feel are accurately depicted as "more likely" to be a stronger team the next three seasons based off of franchise assets and recent history: Chiefs, Ravens, 49ers, and maybe the Seahawks. After that, Buffalo is as competitive as anyone with their continued trajectory.
