  1. Not fear-based at all. Reality-based. You can't sell the farm to get a QB with a lot of question marks. Look at Washington, sold-out for RG3. How'd that end up. The guy they took in the 4th that year--Cousins-- is now the highest paid QB in the league. When teams get cute by "reaching", usually fails. Takes more balls, IMO, to stick by your draft board and not overpay. I'm not saying they shouldn't move up, but they shouldn't panic (e.x. "oh my gosh, Rosen and Mayfield are gone, lets go crazy after Darnold or Allen). You trade a lot of draft picks away, you can't build a "team." You build a "team" like the Eagles did, and you can win the SB with an average guy. And Wentz was on a tear, but he had a great team around him. Or you can have Cousins, and no team, because you sold-out like Washington. Only QB's that I think are worth "going after" are Rosen or Mayfield. Mayfield could even be there at 12.
  2. Ben was a much better prospect than Allen. But I will be very disappointed if we grab Allen because he has a "big arm." This is like grabbing a WR just because he has a fast 40 time, IMO.
  3. or they could overpay and end up with someone like David Carr, Leftwich, Collins, Harrington, etc. While watching Smith or Edwards dominate for the next 10 years. I think they have 2 QB's potentially they would "overpay" for (Rosen, Mayfield hopefully). The rest they wont'.
  4. If it's Josh Allen, then PASS. I'd take LB Smith or Edwards over him. Then grab Mike White or Falk in the 2nd or 3rd.
  5. dude, I'm not a Boomer. FYI. I'm the oldest of the Millennial bracket.
  6. Would you take Price or Ragnow? I think Ragnow allowed 0 sacks the last 2 years. That said, I've only read about both these guys. Also, we need another RB. We have GREAT compliments to Shady, but we need a guy who can carry the load if Shady goes down. (Freeman from Oregon, Ballage AZ State, Walton Miami, Penny SD State, Pettway Auburn are all guys who may be available RD. 3 or later.
  7. I love this. I still think we pickup a RB in a later round if one we like falls (Freeman Oregon, the guy from Miami). Or get someone in UDFA. I still have little confidence that any of these guys can adequately replace Shady if he gets hurt. GREAT compliment parts, but can one of these guys play 15 games as the starter??
  8. Hey Ice Bowl. Nice pickup of Graham. I think the rumor is we are sending a 2nd for Rodgers I like the McCarron signing a lot. Could be the next backup turned star (Jimmy G. in San Fran). Or a career backup to whomever we draft. Ideally we end up with 2 great QB's. he's great when motivated. I have a feeling he will be more motivated in GB than w/ the Jets.
  9. I think you'd enjoy this book: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/disinherited-diana-furchtgott-roth/1120409827?ean=9781594038099
  10. the injury history of concussions scares me. It's why I put Mayfield ahead of him. (Mayfield, Rosen, Darnold). I can see Rosen getting another concussion and calling it quits like Chris Boreland (can't blame him, i'd be his 3rd).
  11. prob takes longer than driving. Trent's PED suspension bothers me. Is he still in the same shape? Guess we will find out.
  12. the concussions are very concerning. Main reason I'd go Mayfield over Rosen. But I'd be fine with Rosen. Only 2 QB's I see as potential Day 1 starters.
  13. Is Eifert still available? He'd be good for a few games until he gets hurt.
  14. Yeah, this lasts until the draft when there will be a "competition" with the rookie. On the other hand, it would be very Cleveland to draft Allen #1, which would be fantastic for a number of reasons.
  15. I hear he was cleared for his pro day?
  16. well, we do need CB help. Hopefully we get Gaines, if not, at least keep L. Johnson and grab another CB.
  17. I think so. I'd nab him and Crabtree as FA WR's. Other interesting FA WR's (not on Bills): Eli Rodgers and Mike Wallace.
  18. Crabtree would be a great addition. (1) he wouldn't be on the Pats***; and (2) as Cudi mentioned, he is a great route runner. I'd also like to resign D. Thompson.
  19. I think it's a good idea. They need cap space to go after Honey Badger. They can draft a LB to replace Klein. And we can draft a LB to compliment/start ahead of him if needed. Would be a good trade, IMO>
  20. wonder if he goes to PIT to play with his brother. I can't see his attitude being a good fit w/ McD.
  21. Agreed. Get a DT (perhaps the guy from Michigan whose name is escaping me) at 22 if he's there. Some other good players will be available in Rd. 2 also. And we have some good DT's to learn from. I like that we are getting vets at positions where we will also likely draft someone.
  22. Trent Murphy also scares me. He was good, but then got suspended for PED's, then blew out his knee. 10 mill a year seems steep for that.?
  23. I hope so. Don't want to overpay for a guy who is really a "space eater." Looks like the draft is deep w/ those.
  24. I agree. If you add Barkley, you have a great OL, 3 great WR's, a capable QB in TT and whatever rookie they draft, and a solid D. I think they could make the playoffs next year. They are putting a scary roster together. please be the Rams. Also, him and Donald on the same line is sick.
