  1. okay. besides, or in addition to, punter
  2. I think Gore is Rb 1 for now. Looked great in 3rd preseason game, great pass protector as well. Singletary and Yeldo. are great complementary parts. I could see almost a Timeshare with Gore and Singletary.
  3. I’m not up to date on other team cuts, but a lot of you are. Would be interesting to see who you all think we should target from other teams cuts (just assume that any teams cut clears waivers to us to make it simple!).
  4. I don't get the Duke Williams cut. No way he clears waivers. Shady makes sense at 6.1 million cap hit and Singletary has played well. So has Gore—who is also great in pass protection. Williams is puzzling. Getting rid of a big redzone target is not a way to help a young qb.
  5. I'll be Angry if we don't get him.
  6. how do the Jets beat us??? Bills 17-3 over Jets. Jets porous O-line gets Darnold happy feet, and he throws 1 INT. The Jets luck into their FG on a bad punt by the Bills giving them great field position. Bell is ineffective behind Jets O-Line. Bills play a running heavy game using all 3 backs to control the clock, esp. after we go up 14-0. Allen goes like 11/15, 150 yards, 1 TD (in redzone to Beasley); and rushes for another 50, but is smart and goes out of bounds or slides. Our FG comes from the interception of Darnold in the Jets half of the field. Peterman throws 2 TD's. To what team is TBD.
  7. NE is possible, not sure about their LB depth, but I think the Jets currently have a paperweight on the depth chart at LB (at least for the first 4 games). Another alternative, Miami. They are in on Clowney for some reason, they could get Marshall and try to sell that. Team is trying to tank. If Marshall is good, trade him mid-season, if not, no real loss.
  8. It's kind of sad if it's "the only thing they know." Your statement is true, but given that they all went to college, and have a life, hopefully they picked up something useful outside of football. A hobby, or something. Many who didn't finish college could go to Tech school (if they have a hobby related to that), etc. They have a lot of options. Another thought: perhaps getting cut is better than being a baseball or hockey player toiling at AAA for years on end for low pay and taking a bus to away games. Now they can get on with their backup plan. But again, don't quit if its your goal. You could be the next Kurt Warner, or at least a backup on a team later this year or next.
  9. I bet the Jets jump on this.
  10. Great depth player, IMO. I think he played his way onto the roster. He's a good Shaq replacement, and had a few impact plays last year. Johnson is better, but Eddie is also good. Keep 4 DE's.
  11. wow. He fell off the cliff fast? What happened?
  12. I'm also hoping that this means Morse didn't have a "bad" (not that you can have a "good") concussion and was held out so long for over cautious reasons. At any rate, Long is better than Bodine. I really liked the Bodine signing last year, but the OL is so much better this year!! CLOWNEY!!!! Any other pass-rushers available?
  13. Looked like the defender left his feet and launched into the offensive player. Penalty and ejection in college for that I believe.
  14. I like the attempt. And the trade to get a punter. Only changes I have are Yeldon at RB over Murphy; at LB Joseph over Lacey.
  15. let his team go out partying before SB's also. this is an unpopular idea thread. Don't knock his unpopular idea!!!!!
  16. It's not wrong. You just don't like it. And that's fine. And go ahead and booo it all you want. But it's not wrong.
  17. I got Matt Barkely hurdling a Vikings LB!!!
  18. not a bad topic, but the return would have to be amazing. Like one of their backup QB's plus a 2nd or 1st. Otherwise, you keep that security blanket. Esp. with a QB like Allen who likes to run.
  19. Trent Williams for Clowney makes scene in a trade with Washington. Don't like seeing Jets listed there.
  20. RIP. Hope his life improved in the years after that Baltimore Sun article.
  21. Rodgers does come across as an idiot. He masks it to some extent by engaging in a word-salad composed of fancy words. The issue with Luck is that he decided 2 weeks before the regular season after thinking about it for 10 days. A much better approach would be to go on IR, then retire if you don't feel better. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/andrew-luck-retirement-decision-under-fire Steve Berlin has a good take on it, and this approach. Luck came across as, "well, this hurts, I don't really care about football, the team, or anything else." Regardless of whether he intended it, that was the impression he gave. For someone who is allegedly a genius, he totally botched his retirement by not anticipating the fan reaction.
  22. yeah, kicker purgatory is real. The Vikings, Bears, and even Steelers have lost important games when they lost good kickers.
  23. no, and one of the fallacies here is that a lack of tailgating will equate to having to buy overpriced and bad stadium food. Likely, numerous bars and restaurants will surround the area (they do here in Pittsburgh) and offer low cost (and better) alternatives to the stadium.
  24. I think Beasley and Sweeney/TE put on a show in week 1. We might go with a quick, short rhythm passing game to defeat the pass rush and exploit their LB's.
  25. If it's not us, I'm fine with Miami for the reasons you stated. Plus, JA hurdling over him
