  1. We should honor the men who fought that day (and others preceding and following in that great conflict) by enjoying the liberty they sacrificed to give us. Here is a quote from a news article I recently read: Helen Patton, a granddaughter of famed American tank commander Gen. George S. Patton Jr., is back in Normandy for the 75th anniversary with a message that younger generations should enjoy the liberties so many soldiers fought and died for. Presiding Monday at a game of American football played close to the landing beaches, she quoted from a poem written by her grandfather during World War I to convey the idea that part of honoring those sacrifices is relishing life: "When I sit in my tank and wait for the hour for the great barrage to come down, I wish to god there was one more day for raising hell in town."
  2. Ike Letter.pdf Letter from Ike to Troops and photo of Ike with paratroopers. Ike kept this photo above his desk for years following D-Day. Ike Photo.pdf
  3. This was sent out yesterday at 4:54 pm EST by a Judge in the Federal Court for the Western District of PA. It's well written: "Dear Colleagues, At this hour 75 years ago, 2245 hours British Double Summer Time, June 5, 1944, the paratroopers of the American 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, along with the their British and Canadian comrades in arms, began to lift off from air bases in England to serve as the "pathfinders" for the D-Day invasion. They were soon followed by other Airborne troops in unarmed gliders. Knowing of the toll that they would soon endure, General Eisenhower personally visited with them as they prepared to board the C-47 cargo planes that would deliver them to France. These men (and back then they were all men) were almost all 20 years old or younger, and were tasked with dropping behind enemy lines on the Normandy peninsula, in the middle of the night, to secure the landing zones and to open pathways inland for the tens of thousands of troops that would soon land by sea. They sustained extensive casualties. They would become the first soldiers to land in occupied France to begin the battle that would free that country and the world from the grip of tyranny. We are all the fortunate beneficiaries of their bravery and sacrifice in that Great Crusade, and now, 75 years later, the very last of them are fading from our view. I would urge all of us, in our own way, to take a moment away from our vital work on behalf of the Nation to reflect on their service to the cause of freedom."
  4. Draft Picks: Ed Oliver, Knox and Cody Ford. I love Oliver and Ford because for the 2nd straight season, we got 2 first round talents with our top 2 picks, IMO. Knox looks like he could be a long-time starter. FA's, I love the addition of J. Brown and Beasly, who I both think will contribute right away. Morse is a huge addition, who will be a great help to blocking schemes and J. Allen's development.
  5. I like the fact that he isn't trying to make QB's do something they are horribly uncomfortable with just to "fit" into some preconceived notion of how it "must be done."
  6. he gets any older, they will make him switch to RB!!
  7. I really want Delpit or Young. Hopefully we have enough to trade up and grab one of them.
  8. Indy should be all over him. They are very close to winning the AFC and perhaps SB. That said, I'd take McCoy here. Would love to have the problem of "too many" good players at DT.
  9. rap. same foot. almost better to ***** him down for year and get Rudolph.
  10. I'd like Delpit. But I doubt we trade up from 32 to grab him.
  11. totally sucks. F-cancer. RIP Pancho.
  12. some interesting stuff in that thread (it's only 2 pages). Someone said no way we would take D, another said, "take Haskins," which is somewhat impressive given it was at the beginning of the college season I think, and another (not me) astutely noted, "We traded the whole team for the opportunity to pick Allen. Now we have a QB that isn't ready yet and no other playmakers. It's gonna be a long year but a really fun off-season." Interesting to read all of that now!
  13. the contract is in an endzone. He can't get to it (total joke. I like the draft pick)
  14. Great points. Plus, wasn't Barkley signed like the week before the Jets game? And as I recall, that was the game where Foster broke-out at WR. He looks like a very capable backup to me.
  15. Manzel. As a TC arm. Someone had to suggest it ?
  16. our interest is to drive up the price for the Pats**, or deprive Brady of a TE
  17. not paying for an out of town newspaper so I can read a "projected" starting article. If there was a Bills only subscription I would be interested, but I'd have to be low-cost and have real insight.
  18. I think he would switch position to RB in Buffalo. We need to keep the average age up after the draft!
  19. sounds a bit like J. James or H. Miller.
  20. Thanks!! Great list of players to watch in College this year.
  21. Clowney. Harder to find an edge rusher. Plus, a disruptive top-end edge is better than a top-end WR in terms of overall impact to team performance.
  22. Great post OP. I noticed that as well last year. I think he was trying to "power down" his arm too much. When he didn't underthrow, he almost took off the hands of some of his WR's. Having a 2nd year and working on those throws, along with the presence of Cole Beasley should help him this year.
  23. pick it up. Worst case is a high-end backup player at a high-end backup price. He is a VERY good run defender. he improved last year. If he improves that much again this year, we will be very happy we extended him. Plus, he likely puts up great numbers with Oliver taking so much attention. totally agree with this. Plus, he was one of our best, if not best, run defenders. And we need players who can defend the run.
