Losing to the Steelers was a blessing in disguise

We'll see how they respond. They also need to realize they have to work harder no matter how good they think they are, there is no such thing as a gimme in the NFL. -

the worried fans haven't thought that far ahead, they have Chicago Bears tunnel vision and the media fans the fire. of course the Bears would still be the Chicago Bears much like many other teams that have their stadiums in the suburbs. Somehow these fans do not get that idea and the mayor played into those fears. They would never be called the Arlington Heights Bears (for example), the NFL wouldn't allow it. Arlington Heights is a courthouse, some car dealers, a beautiful but vacant horse racing facility and a big bedroom community.

she is correct about it being mostly a negotiating position but the Bears could make a lot more money with a bigger stadium that has more seating as well as corporate and private amenities. lightfoot has a tactic of her own in that statement, keeping the Chicago name in the team. she is playing on the baseless fear that many bears fans have, that somehow they must lose the chicago name if the stadium winds up in the suburbs. so many people believe this and are concerned about it, unjustifiably so.

this reminds me of an incident that happened to the bear's lance briggs several years ago. he crashed his lamborghini into an expressway light pole late sat night and left it there, never reporting the accident. he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, much better than the alternative !

The running game has to be there vs KC this week.
jethro_tull replied to Toyo321's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ONLY to keep the defense honest. They tried to run last KC game and it failed. Unleash the arm of allen and all will be well................... -
Missing that new coach and GM excitement
jethro_tull replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the grass isn't always greener my bills fan friend. franchise players do not grow on trees and neither do franchise general managers or coaches. they are rare birds indeed. we are fortunate to not need the excitement and hope that comes from rebuilding. we are in a much better place. rest your excitement on the things that this team has yet to achieve. -

The Bills just beat the Ravens #2 defense for points against / #7 for yards against, #5 for passing TDs against and they proved their numbers. It was tough and gritty but a complete team effort. The possible remaining defenses- Team Rank points against yards against passing TDs against ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ KC 10 16 20 CLEV 21 17 25 I like the idea that the offense was battle tested in this game. They faced tough resistance. The outlook looks bright for the next one !
