  1. In 2023, Josh has a higher cap hit than Hurts, Tua, and Purdy combined.
  2. wondering if on passing third downs, we will see Groot, Von, Ed & AJE.
  3. Looking at the data, this group tends to have a severe recency bias. I think the Bills having a few more days rest, and the coaching staff having more time to prepare will give us a different outcome than last January. I think it will be a close game, but I'm not expecting it to be a blowout. Both teams have a quality win [Bills-Miami, Bengals - 49'rs], and a loss they probably should have avoided [Bills - NE, Cinci - Tenn]. Cinci is still not playing at the level they did last January. Hopefully our Bills will have their game faces on and come ready to play.
  4. PFF grades him as the 10th best cover corner in 2023. One of the better run defenders among the top cover corners. Size comparable to many safeties.
  5. Getting rid of Tre at the end of 2023 carries a 26MM cap hit. That drops to just over $10mm at the end of 2024. Tough situation. Second contracts becoming burdensome for high injury prone positions.
  6. Can we make Jordan Phillips inactive for this game? Can't take many more stupid penalties that keep drives alive.
  7. Yeah, I just looked at the stats and ratings. Bengals defense this year is pedestrian except for Hendrickson. If Dorsey lets Josh play with confidence, and minimizes turnovers, this Cinci defense can be had. Our biggest problem as it has been since Daquan was injured it our interior defense, against the run. We have given up some huge runs, even in games we won. That being said, to beat Cinci you have to control Chase, Boyd, and Higgins. Their TE, Hurst, who killed us last year has moved on and Smith who replaced him is not of the same quality. Hoping the Bills bring their 'A' game similar to the last 3 quarters of the Miami game [although we are missing a few key pieces].
  8. Not to mention that yesterday Stafford, Cousins, Tyrod, and Pickett all got dinged, and wouldn't be surprised if Cousins and Tyrod are done for the season [might be career ending for Tyrod].
  9. Yeah and Trent Williams is a pretty big [literally and figuratively] DNP for this offense, one of the elite LT's in the game.
  10. Klein has always been tagged as good against the run. Is this a down and distance spot for him, esp with Mixon?
  11. Injury list from yesterday around the league is pretty long and impactful. Suspect there will be a lotta movement today and tomorrow.
  12. Anyone watching the injury reports today. Pickens, Stafford, Cousins, Tyrod all injured and did not return.
  13. Bengals chewing up Bosa & Co on the ground.
  14. Meanwhile Cinci is making 49'rs vaunted defense look like JAG's
  15. Yes, but they have a win in hand vs. Buf so second game becomes a must win for Bills.
  16. Guess I'm greedy, but truthfully we are a couple of plays from being 8-0, but also a couple of plays from being 3-5. Jets - Josh 2 underthrown passes int in Jets end zone Jags - Daquan and Milano Injured, Defense gives up 35 yard run to Etienne. Pats - Take the lead with 1:58 left, give up a 75 yard drive to one of the league's worst offenses, Gash run by Stevenson made entire drive plausible. smh
  17. I was 11 in 1959, huge sports fan at the time. Was a big Cleveland Browns/Jim Brown fan, as my uncle had been at Syracuse with him. Quickly transferred my loyalties to my hometown team, where they have remained ever since - through thick and thin. Beatles wrote a song about "When I'm 64".
  18. Some of the problems would never be solved by eye in the sky. For example, bad spots - "just give it too 'em" or the Murray run vs. Tampa that should been inches, but was a full yard & half short after the spot. As we all know from our phones, there is locator technology that's pretty accurate, but not sure if it's accurate to the inch level.
  19. Of the 39 players drafted after Elam and before Cook, 9 are playing teams only. PFF ranks 13 2022 draft choices in the top 32 for their position. Elam is ranked 5th from the bottom of his draft class of those 30 players that are ranked.
  20. The cornerback market among teams near/out of playoff contention is pretty thin as you can imagine. Here is a list of CB's from the bottom 6 teams with PFF scores above Dane. Jaylon Johnson CHI Ja'Quan McMillian DEN Terell Smith CHI Pat Surtain II DEN Greg Stroman Jr. CHI Troy Hill CAR
  21. Tampa's LT is Wirfs, one of the top tackles in the league. Probably wanted to let someone other than Von get beat up.
  22. Five wide means fewer people in the box, and opens up Josh's running ability.
  23. I notice that Rapp played a lot. Wondering with the Bengals trio we are facing if we will see a lot more dime, or do we have to stick with 2 LB's because of Mixon.
  24. I can see Kincaid and Josh becoming BFF's - both guys from the west that were unnoticed and wound up in places under the radar for college. Would be nice for them to develop a Mahomes/Kelce vibe.
  25. I am really curious about our DL rotation. Von is working his way back, but Epenesa and Rousseau need to get more snaps at the expense of the likes of Floyd and Lawson. I know we lost Daquan, but Phillips is hot garbage to begin with before even the dumb decisions. I think it's affecting Oliver's play as well. Before the trade deadline can Beane & Co. see if there is a 1T available for a reasonable price that can clog the middle. Tired of mediocre RB's gashing us for first downs. Mixon is not a mediocre running back.
