  1. I took a shot at this about a month ago, used PFR AV rankings 1 Bruce Smith 2 Thurman Thomas 3 Jim Kelly 4 Andre Reed 5 Josh Allen 6 Kent Hull 7 O.J. Simpson 8 Kyle Williams 9 Joe Ferguson 10 Fred Smerlas 11 Mike Stratton 12 Jim Ritcher 13 Cornelius Bennett 14 Eric Moulds 15 Darryl Talley Looks pretty solid to me. I was a big Cookie fan, but he didn't play in the NFL long enough. Sestak's knees gave out or he would be high on this list.
  2. I always think of the kicker, punter, and long snapper as 51,52,53. The bottom of the roster I think of as 46-50, that's where the coaching staff has their heated discussions on ST and emergency [e.g. multiple in game injuries] needs. Some of those 5 are vets and some of them are rookies, [e.g. Buffalo Joe last season].
  3. We have a solid O-line for now to protect the franchise [JA17], I suspect the DL will be a work in progress this year.
  4. He's 30 pounds bigger and faster than our linebackers. Not sure we've addressed that.
  5. Bills best tight ends in history using PFR AV have been Dawson Knox, Paul Costa [who was converted to a tackle] Jay Reimersma & Pete Metzelaars, none in Kelce's class.
  6. I would be surprised if all five of the starters on the O-Line weren't there, they are Josh's bodyguards.
  7. Would the better move have been to draft Justin Jefferson with that pick and created arguably one of the Legendary QB/WR1 pairs in history with JA 17 and JJ 18. Looking back is always what coulda shoulda.
  8. Have to wonder if Jim Irsay's passing has increased the focus on this. Irsay is actually a couple of months younger than Goodell.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised to see Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges and the Coen Brothers there.
  10. Heard something yesterday on Sirius XM that 2nd rounders seem to be the toughest to get signed this year. Agents have been showing teams that 2nd rounders are nearly as successful as first rounders, but they have a much lower pay scale and no 5th year option. Agents are looking for more guarantees and incentives, and front offices are balking.
  11. Eric Wood will probably disagree.
  12. Cam Lewis is a swiss army knife db. In a pinch can stick him in at nearly every spot in the defensive backfield. He graded out as our second best db out of all on the roster and he was a core ST piece as well. I suspect the brain trust has a decent opinion of him vs. some of the other candidates mentioned.
  13. This has also been set to music - haunting. Here is Rochester native Renee Fleming.
  14. Our highest graded safety last season was Cam Lewis, he was the only safety on the roster with a passable coverage grade.
  15. 10 player rosters, five on the field at the same time. If he's all he's touted to be, Travis Hunter who can play DB and WR will certainly be in the mix. The few televised games i've seen, this is clearly a "speed kills" game, doubt there will be much demand for the bigger slower wideouts. Should be tailor made for quick elusive players who get up to top speed in the first couple of steps. Lamar is supposedly a 4.34 40 guy, Josh is 4.7.
  16. Yes but Upshaw ran the NFLPA for a quarter century and made a LOT of football players wealthy men
  17. For anyone thinking this is a walkover, I suspect this could possibly be Cool Runnings 2.0. The entire island of Jamaica has a lot of very fast people. If I look at world track, 60 meter top 10 leaders this year, USA has 3, Jamaica has 3, some very fast athletes in Australia as well. I imagine some rugby union players will be a handful, Christian Wade would be tailor made for this type of contest. I agree that Lamar with his sheer speed would be the QB. I think everyone on the USA roster will have 4.40 or better speed. Hill - Phish Worthy - Chiefs Breece Hall - Jets Metcalf - Seahawks Waddle - Bungles McLaurin - Commanders suspect with the speed on offense the d will be heavily seasoned with CB's who can stay close and have long arms.
  18. I imagine the NFLPA already has suggested this be named the Gene Upshaw award, Hall of Famer, 3 rings.
  19. If we go three years, then Cookie Gilchrist has to enter the conversation, he's on the Wall of Fame.
  20. Yes - Fitz threw a 98 yarder to TO in 2009, later matched by Josh to Gabe, also a 98 yarder in 2022
  21. Unfortunately I was at Saratoga the day Secretariat lost. He actually was 16-3-1 in his 21 career starts.
  22. My son's mother in law kept saying it was a beautiful fall day. I had to be gracious and agree.
  23. Last Bills game in Carolina was 9/17/17. Game was a stinker Bills led by Tyrod Taylor lost 9-3 in a game without a TD. Beautiful Fall day in Carolina. Bills offense was so putrid that Carolina had almost 40 minutes of possession, but still only put 3 FG's on the board.
  24. Yes Spotrac says Lamar is $74.5MM cap hit in 2026 but a potential out in 2027 with a $35MM cap hit. If he stays 2027 is also $74.5MM cap hit and $17MM in void years. Yikes some serious change there.
  25. Dolphins site seems to think we are playing the Eagles in Philly, heads will explode when they see we get Eagles, KC, Baltimore TB and Bengals all at home.
