  1. Josh's contract escalates pretty quickly next season, and we have mediocre draft capital to use, so not sure we are going to get Chase and Higgins type players in the draft, which is what we need. Also need some pretty serious speed upgrades in the defensive backfield and some beef in the LB corps.
  2. Um - Derrick Henry [250# 4.5 40] usually has a 7 yard head of steam rolling from the backfield before he gets to the LOS. Tackling him in the open field is a business decision for a 190# DB.
  3. Is it time to go to the basketball model, other team gets possession after a score. up to your defense to stop them.
  4. Some of these speed figures e.g. Hardman's 4.33 (2019), Samuel 4.31 (2017) Moore 4.35 (2021) are pretty dated in football terms, not sure we are helping Josh by picking up receivers off the scrap heap, or guys that can never seem to stay healthy for more than a couple of games at a time. We also have 4 receivers on our roster with times between 4.54 and 4.61, and guess what, they can't get separation.
  5. I think McDermott said "week to week"
  6. what's the deal with IR'd players whose contract expires? Does the team say it's been nice having you? Bass comes with a $6MM dead cap hit - BTW
  7. Heard today that Burrow is in his 21 day window. He will likely be playing against the Bills in week 14.
  8. Gabe was never the fastest and is coming off a tough injury for WR's. Also ?can we do better than a WR with a 53% career catch percentage? Our competition in New England is completing 72% of their throws.
  9. Hollins led ALL Bills receivers [WR/TE/RB] in snaps in 2024 with 721 snaps [66.3%]. He also played 2 snaps on defense and 100 snaps on teams [22%] Palmer has played through 9 games 173 snaps 29% and no special teams snaps.
  10. Josh has a $209 dead cap hit, Bills would not be able to put a team on the field.
  11. Thank heavens for practice squad call-ups Um - Diggs and Hollins used to be our WR's, we ran one out of town, and cheaped out on the other guy.
  12. I have seen too many Derrick Henry runs to the end zone, and then today we get Achane taking 2 long jaunts to the house, including one where he outran our 4.3 DB. Are we ever going to understand that this is a game where speed is a valued commodity on both sides of the ball. Our head coach is supposedly a defensive expert, but we have too many games where teams gash us for long runs and points.
  13. Gotta stop taking dumb penalties like late hit out of bounds. He will have his wallet lightened this coming friday for that one.
  14. Perhaps he puts on a few pounds and becomes a tight end? Story always was he was a great blocker on run plays
  15. still thought the Cinci home playoff loss after the Hamlin incident was the worst overall besides 13 seconds.
  16. Not seeing anyone better that's active for this game.
  17. Spector will cover special teams snaps as our depth guys will be starting. In the past three seasons, he has played over 50% of ST snaps that he's been active for.
  18. My father went to South Park with Warren Spahn, 363 wins in the majors, part of the unit that captured the Bridge at Remagen, would have been over 400 wins without his Army time in WW2
  19. Unlike other years, everything seems to be bunching so closely that the Bills may have to use their regulars in week 18 just to hang on to whatever seed they are in position for.
  20. Yes, my mother grew up in Blasdell in the 1930's and she talked about how the kids would go out to the sand pits [stadium site] and look for arrowheads.
  21. I follow a guy named Ken Massey who crunches all the results [from many sports]. He has us favored in all the rest of our games, He sees the toughest [lowest probability of winning] as at Houston 57% and home vs. Philly 59%. He has @NE as 61%, & @Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay both at 64%. The Tampa game is shaping up as HUGE for a non-conference game as the Bucs are in a food fight with Rams, Seahawks, and Eagles for the bye in the NFC.
  22. Interesting, since it was the Vinovich crew, and for many years he has been ranked as one of the top zebra's, did the 2024 Super Bowl. His crew is noted for "letting them play"
  23. yes and an Ivy League education as well, a true scholar-athlete.
