A Few Thoughts about the Panthers Game - Community Edition
BearNorth replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our WR coach is Adam Henry [Ed.D] 53 yrs old. went to McNeese State. Practice squad player with the Saints in the 90's. Has been the WR coach for 49ers, Browns, Cowboys, Bills. Has coached the likes of Anquan Boldin, Amari Cooper, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, & CeeDee Lamb. Described as a human encyclopedia of WR play. -
OJ had 273 yards rushing and the Bills lost...
BearNorth replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Before OJ, the record was held by Cookie Gilchrist. 243 yards 5 TD's 12/8/63. Field was pretty much unplayable, standing puddles and mud holes on the field. Was funny watching DT's try to tackle a RB the same size as they were. I was at the game with my dad, and we were FROZEN leaving the stadium. -
James Cook wins the Angry Runs scepter against the Panthers
BearNorth replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook has been a star. I do wish Brady and his brain trust would figure out a way to use him more in the passing game tho. 12 receptions 13 targets but only 89 yards. We used him heavily in the Ravens game, but 3 targets in the last three games. I remember a guy named Thurman Thomas used to mean defenses had to account for him, often with a CB or safety in the passing game. -
Some of us were around for 1964, Elbert Dubenion 42 catches 1139 yards 27.1 average 10 TD's.

Game week thread - Chiefs at Bills (Video preview on pg. 19)
BearNorth replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
ST's - Butker has missed 3FG's and 3XP's, to 1 of each for Prater. Punting, Wishnowsky has a slightly higher net average than Araiza, and has given up only 23 punt return yards on the season. I think that's a slight edge to the Bills. -
The New Guys: Hairston, Hoecht, Ogunjobi plus Hancock

He is showing on our practice squad as of this morning. -

This Wande Owens on the PS intrigues me. Yale grad, 5-10 210 - a bigger DB that could help in run support, explosive athletically, 43" vertical 11'3" broad jump 9.59 RAS. Suspect having gone to Yale he probably gets schemes etc pretty well. -
Joe B (The Athletic) on passing game problems (with data)

In what universe would you pay your franchise QB $55MM per year to be a "game manager" -
The New Guys: Hairston, Hoecht, Ogunjobi plus Hancock
BearNorth replied to Ray Stonada's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd take a Hutchinson any day for this defense -
Shakir also did it in the New Orleans game. 43 yard screen to the house, breaking tackles, juking defenders out of their shoes.

Lewis is also our primary backup at Nickel, and Taron has been dinged up this year. So yeah, we're a bit thin and our DB's are having trouble staying healthy.

Bengals LB Logan Wilson requests trade - Was at Wyoming with Josh
BearNorth replied to psuscott16's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Colts have a LB need and cap room, Anarumo is their DC, Wilson was his captain in Cinci. -
two Player that can really change the Bills
BearNorth replied to dbfla10's topic in The Stadium Wall
When we had Thurman, he was a mismatch in the passing game for the LB's of his day. Can we draw up some plays where Cook is used in a similar fashion. Cook has impressed me with his ability to change direction in space, which should give defenses a lot to think about if we use him effectively. -
Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
BearNorth replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coleman RAC ?? - with his 4.6 speed [or lack thereof]? -
Bills’ greatest needs heading into the trade deadline?
BearNorth replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hoecht becoming eligible not an upgrade? seems like he's a bit of a swiss army knife piece. e.g. Lorax 2.0 -
If you look at the newpaper articles, Kim and Terry surround McD in the hiring photo and Whaley is to the left of Kim, so I expect she had a lot of input.

Joe Marino's 9 point plan for improvement
BearNorth replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coleman can't get separation, no separation puts your passing game at higher risk of INT's and 3 and outs.
