It will be interesting to see if Alabama continues to produce injury prone players that if NFL teams continue to draft those players so high. If NFL teams draft Alabama players lower based on wear and tear if will be interesting to see if high end recruits still end up going to Alabama knowing that going to that school will mean lower draft positioning even if they execute and do well. Or will Alabama readjust their injury management systems to help ensure the longer term health of their players. Alabama has to remember that recruits are most attracted by places where they will have a path to be drafted the highest. If going to Alabama carries a reputation of long term durability concerns which results in a lower draft status then it is likely high end recruits might shy away from Alabama once such a reputation is earned.

The thing is if Trubisky falls to number 10 isn't that a sign that teams don't covet him enough to make a huge Wentz like trade up? If Houston is in love with him and they want to do a trade up I don't think you are getting their 2nd this year plus their 1st next year. A more realistic trade down would probably look like Houston's 25th, their 2nd this year, plus Cleveland's 4th this year, and their 4th next year for Trubisky/Pick 10. The Bills can fill a lot of needs at pick 25 then circle back in the 2nd round with 2 picks and add the 1st pick of the 4th round a round where the Bills currently don't have a pick. The Bills also stash a 4th next year to sweeten the deal. That would be a good trade for both sides but I don't see that coming to fruition.

We will see exactly what the Browns do with all of that cap space and draft choices. They had two massive trade downs this decade that allotted them draft picks that they really didn't do a lot with. The trade downs for Juilo Jones and Sammy might have been the right deals in theory but the Browns just didn't produce the players from those additional picks. Now with the Wentz trade downs and all of their other maneuvers they have another treasure trove of picks but what exactly will it manifest into? Good on paper don't always pan out. The Browns are still a mess as they just keep rolling over cap space with no real results and their allotment of draft picks while great isn't a guarantee. So I will wait and see just exactly how well the Browns do in the upcoming draft before I call their strategy successful.

The team gets a 5th rounder if they don't match. I am not too disappointed by this. Either way the team retains a player or they get value in the form of a draft pick back for him.

Tyrod being a decent starting QB and locked in for the next couple of seasons affords the Bills a semi-luxery of having some time to develop a QB behind a decent starter. I don't think there is a QB worth taking at pick 10 but I wouldn't mind them taking a flyer on Chad Kelly in the late rounds. The Team can hold 2 project QB's on the roster and try and hit lightening in a bottle on one of them and see who after a couple of years is worth it.

I would love for the Bills to engineer a couple of trade downs picking up and extra 2nd, 3rd, and maybe even 4th or 5th round pick. Only thing is it take two to tango, what prospect could fall to 10 that a team in the 20ish range would want to trade up for him desperately? Then what other prospect could be coveted around the 20 range that a team in the back end of the 1st or early 2nd round would want to make a trade up? Things have to line up and I am not sure they will. But even one trade down to pick up extra picks would be great since the team has a lot of needs and not enough draft picks to fill those needs at the moment.

His mechanics and accuracy aren't very good, granted you can work on those things to a degree but it's not as teachable as many scouts use to think. Hopefully they can give him 2 more years to working within the system and work on the basics of accuracy and mechanics.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Bills burn a late round pick on Kelly. His off field issues are a bit over blown and speak more him being a bit immature and entitled as opposed to him having deep personal demons or being in with the wrong crowd. He has had some injuries but his talent level is good enough to where a 6th or 7th round pick would be a good enough pick to throw out at him to see if he can sit and develop for a couple of years. I know the team has Jones as a project QB occupying the 3rd spot but having another one is never a bad idea esp when you are spending such a late round pick on him. Kelly could also be placed on IR his rookie year and allowed to rehab his injuries and get comfortable with the system and the organization. I really wouldn't mind seeing Kelly but anything more than a 6th rounder wouldn't be worth it. Honestly do think that he will be undrafted for some reason.

Not a big fan of the team letting him go, at worst he would be great depth at dime back. I know that he is short for his position but a lot of advanced metrics seem to have graded him out above average for his position. Considering that he was under a very reasonable contract and his performance wasn't at all bad I thought it was a very foolish move to let him go esp considering the general lack of depth the team has at that position.

I would definitely put Tyrod over Wentz and Bradford. Wentz is still developing and Bradford stinks. So even pessimistically I would put Tyrod at #19 and I think you could argue he is better than Cousins, Flacco, Tanny, and Dak but you could also make a good argument he is worse than all 4. So realistically I would slot him in the range of 19-15 depending how how you would rate those other QB's. Considering his contract that's not a bad place for the Bills to be. Hopefully with better coaching and some good additions via the draft the Bills can build a good enough team around him to make the playoffs while having a couple of seasons to work on grooming future options at QB.

Kujo and a 2nd with a conditional mid round pick next year with the Bills getting back Sherman and the Seahawks 4th this year would be a fantastic trade for the Bills but I don't see it happening unless the Seahawks are enamored with Kujo to the point where they think Kujo could come in and start of them AND be an upgrade which I doubt there is any evidence that the Seahawks have such a high evaluation of Kujo.

If the Bills took a WR then they would be hitting a area of dramatic need, the Spiller pick was frivolous since the team already had good running backs. That being said I hope for a trade down into the 20's to pick up another 2nd round pick and have the team get more quality picks while still probably finding a good player at a need position lower in the first round. Hell if they could still get Williams deeper into the first while adding a extra 2nd to address 2 needs I would be very happy, but that isn't the most realistic scenario.

I think ESPN should tell their personalities to shy away from politics on their air at least (Social media is a bit different but a word of caution should be issued.) Sports is the candy store, it is entertainment for the most part. Unless an athlete is doing something overtly political (Which turns into sports news that deserves commentary) then you don't need to interject something as divisive as politics into the conversation. We get enough of politics and news from the internet, social media, and traditional news media like TV and radio. When you tune into sports you do it to escape that, so an organization doing that isn't surprising. My issue tends to be when standards aren't being applied equally. Organizations will often only crack down on political opinions that go against the general political opinion of the organization. A Left leaning organization will crack down harder on right wing political opinions among their talent and vice versa.

I wouldn't give up much more than our 3rd this year and a conditional 5th next year. Injuries and 29 at a position that players don't typically play elite much past their early 30's doesn't make for a long term solution. So realistically you would probably be hoping for 2-3 elite seasons out of Sherman were you to trade for him, optimistically maybe 4. But you could also run the risk of getting 1 or 0 good seasons out of him. With a 10th overall selection you could get a player that is in his prime for 6-10 years and is much cheaper the first 4-5 years of his career. If I am going to sink draft picks into a somewhat short term prospect I am not going to put a 1st round pick into it and I would be very very hesitant to put a 2nd rounder into it. Being that we are very thin at corner a 3rd round pick and a conditional 5th (That could escalate to a 4th) next year would make sense. Not sure Seattle would do it at a decent but not spectacular price for a very very good player but the Bills can not afford to overpay super valuable draft choices into aging veteran players who might be very good but at best only for a short term burst. If The Pats feel that they are a bit more win now and are willing to throw out a 2nd round pick and more then fine go for it. The Bills should throw a bid that they are comfortable with and just stick to that price.

One year deal, interesting that he vastly over estimated his own market.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a 3rd round LB, team doesn't have a pure coverage LB on the roster unless they bring Zach Brown back. I would be shocked to see one taken in the first two rounds but round 3 or later wouldn't surprise me.

I can't help but think that the team will sign a vet at some point after the draft but before training camp. Jones is still a year away from being a viable backup option and the team needs a decent option in case Tyrod goes down. Plenty of decent QB's on the market so I wouldn't sweat them not having one just yet. After the draft there will be a decent amount to choose from.

Interesting claim, seems like injuries and being bit raw coming out of college stifled his career development. But the potential still seems like it could be there. Maybe a good change of scenery and coaching and a off-season to recover from injuries will help him develop better. Already deep line got another player that could make it better.

I would love it if the Bills found a way to get Gordon either for a late conditional pick or just off free agency. He is one of the best WR in the game, although I do think that the Bills would need to have a plan B and C in place for a possible suspension for Gordon but it would be a fairly low risk high reward type move for the Bills to try and get a dynamic player opposite Sammy for relatively little cost. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bills go after him but I don't see it fitting the way this new coaching staff operates.

If the D-line stays healthy I think that unit could be as good if not better than it was in 2014. Hughes, Dareus, Kyle, Lorax, Shaq, Ryan, and Washington could be an elite deep unit. Shaq's development is a huge part of the future of the Defense in general.

I think Whaley needs to go if McD isn't high on working with him. Dysfunctional Head Coach GM relationships never seem to work out. I think he has been decent as a GM overall, above average drafter hit or miss in free agency. So losing him isn't a dramatic loss as I think having him there with a head coach that doesn't trust him just won't work for anybody.

Things could still shake out differently. This whole Brown saga has been very interesting to say the least. No matter where he goes I won't be surprised. Still hope the Bills can get him at a good price since I am a firm believer that the team needs a line backer that can cover.

None of those guys are good in coverage. Lorax is much more of a pass rushing specialist who should be moved around from DE to OLB, and even P.Brown and Ragland are going to have issues in coverage. Zach Brown would be a starting OLB and more importantly be our only LB that can cover well. I don't think the team should over pay for him but I do think that he would be a valuable LB for the Bills to have.

New representation and a visit looks encouraging. It is clear his old agent over leveraged his position in the market. Teams weren't willing to pay him for last years production alone. Brown could be a one hit wonder and he tailed off a little bit in the last 4 games of last season. So it kind of seems that teams just weren't willing to shell out big bucks and a lot of guarantees for one year of good production after 4 years of a less than stellar track record. I hope the Bills get him back at a good price. I suspect Brown was looking for something in the 7-8 million range and the Bills were looking at 4-5, I suspect they come to something around 5 million maybe a tad bit more. Bills really could round out their front 7 very well if they bring back Brown. Not to mention that they have a very big need for a line backer that can be good in coverage something they currently lack and something that Brown brings.
