Josh Allen 2021-22 predictions
billsfan89 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn’t there an extra game this season? With 17 games and only one bye I think 5k yards for Josh is extremely possible. -
When you have a good team your exciting moves are keeping your talent in place and drafting. Bring on the boring.

The safeties are very good, Tre is an All Pro at one of the corner positions and T. Johnson is a good slot corner and Levi is OK. Add in Dane to compete and add depth and that’s a pretty good secondary. My main issue is depth and I think this team will spend a mid round pick to sure up depth and I think they might also go bargain hunting for a vet too. Not too concerned about the secondary overall esp with Levi back.

i think this move doesn’t stop the Bills from getting Ertz or another TE but it certainly gives them options.

Decent Kroft replacement

Sammy isn’t going to happen I just don’t see that relationship mending.

I absolutely HATE our team’s focus on Special Teams
billsfan89 replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One year the Chargers were the number one defense and offense in the league but had a pitiful ST unit and they finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs. ST is important. -
Wish Rudolph would have come cheaper, hoping for an Ertz trade now. Not sure what other options are out on the market, don’t Hate Knox but it is nice to have a vet option.

Beane/McD zoom call today at 2pm
billsfan89 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team is up against the cap due to a cap crunch and managed to retain almost all of their key free agents and replace John Brown and keep some of the team’s depth while still being able to add pieces view the draft and the later stages of free agency where serious bargains could be available. -
Tally kicked of airplane for not wearing mask

If you think you have the right to not wear a mask on a crowded close quarters plane then you are a fool and that’s putting it nicely.- 12 replies

If this wasn’t for a lot of money I like the signing. Fromm needs at least another year to cook before I trust him as a backup. Mitch isn’t going to cut it as a starter but he is a good backup option.
-
He is a good Special teams player?
-
I wouldn’t say he is a JAG but definitely not a massive difference maker either. He was/is a capable rotational defensive linemen. I would have honestly preferred to have kept him with a pay cut over Butler but I get why they kept Butler. For what the Raiders paid he is a decent signing a situational pass rushing DT with some versatility. I wouldn’t be super stoked if I was a Raiders fan but I wouldn’t hate the signing either.
-
Depending on how massive the contract is this wouldn’t be a bad move for the Jets. Davis, Ju Ju, Crowder and Mims is a solid WR corps not setting the world on fire but definitely better than anything Darnold had to work with and a corps a young QB or Darnold can have some chance at success with. I don’t think it would workout with the Jets but if the price is right it is a chance they should take.

I think the Bills shouldn’t be afraid to risk more dead cap down the line in exchange for some immidate space. But I wouldn’t go all out in doing that as it sacrifices roster flexibility which can sustain winning longer term. Make some space now and go for it as the future is far from guaranteed.
-
Nice depth move, like the fact they were able to keep him and tender Ike. Wish they kept Bojo too but you got to make cuts somewhere.
-
Good signing (Fairly low risk high reward) but they still need offensive tackle help, their guard play was actually good for most of 2020. Just weird to see them go so hard after guards when they need tackle help.
-
Sanders was more productive than Brown in 2020. Projecting what either could bring in 2021 and I would give a slight edge to Sanders. I think Sanders in a more limited role can thrive and take the pressure off Davis and Cole just enough to keep the offense chugging along. Hoping they add Ertz or another pass catching weapon to the offense.
-
I am sure Beane is aware, however if you do keep kicking the can down the road it does ***** with your roster flexibility. So I think right now they are in a balancing act of how much dead cap do they want to risk in upcoming seasons vs. how much space they want now?
-
The cap basically is something that can keep kicking down the road for a long time. And even when the bill comes due at worst you can dig yourself out of it in two years (and for most teams one year possibly). This isn't like the 2000's NBA where you have two bad contracts sitting on your books with 4=5 years left and the cap kills your team for a long time. You kick the can down the road until your window to win is destroyed and you eat a lot of dead cap for a season or two. I thought so too but maybe the moves aren't official until the league year starts so they found a trade partner?

The state of the roster is good. All three key starters were retained but Ty, Bojo and Roberts were lost. Bojo was replaced by a solid punter on a longer term deal at an affordable rate. Ty and Roberts have yet to be replaced. The team in free agency also found John Brown's replacement in Sanders so a lateral move on the only player lost in cuts, a solid rental to buy them a year to see just how good Davis and Hodgins are. They just tendered Ike so the O-line is likely to be further retained hopefully and Wallace while not retained was offered a contract. Finding a pass rusher and 1-2 other starting needs are critical but for the most part depth is going to be a big concern. Finding a new returner, finding a swing tackle, and possibly more depth in the secondary are all key areas of depth needed.
-
Solid, would hate to let a competent O-line player go.

Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
billsfan89 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ertz’s ceiling of play is certainly higher than Rudolph even factoring in the down year for Ertz but Rudolph isn’t a bad “plan B” at worst you being in Rudolph to take on the Kroft role of being a solid more steady but less dynamic complement to Knox. But I would prefer Ertz as I think he still has a very good year or two left. I just wouldn’t over pay for him. I offer a 5th in 2021 and a conditional 5th in 2022 that could escalate to a 4th. If the Eagles get a better offer then they can take it and I sign Rudolph. -
I think it has to be a more serious injury than we thought too. Agents know their players markets and they know what they can get and if they asked Brown to take a pay cut I am sure he would have. Good signing for the Raiders a good “buy low” opportunity.
