Beane: "I have no intent to move up or down"

I am so done with you being done with this team, I'm done! Done! Done! Done! -
Daniel jeremiah mock has a key Bills message
Magox replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So if there is a criticism of Jackson or comparing him to TT runs the risk of being labeled as lazy or racist? Sounds risky and unfair. Personally I think Lamar is way ahead where TT was at this point of his career. Which makes him an intriguing prospect due to his arm strength and athleticism, but I do believe the comparison of not being a top end anticipation thrower is valid. This is an area that he doesn't execute as well as some of the other prospects and I believe is completely valid to question. Having said that, if the Bills have not traded up for either Rosen or Mayfield and Jackson is available at 21 then I think Jackson or for that matter Rudolph are available you have to seriously consider them. I like both of their potential. -
You saying Bulldog likes watching Schopp engage in intercourse? I'm confused

I was talking in the context that his athleticism was a given. I don't believe Beane/Mcd will select anyone that isn't an effort sort of player. With Tavens freakish athleticism if he passes the Mcd/Beane effort/team player mentality they are seeking he will be awfully hard to pass up on. -

If we do not trade our 2 1sts for a QB, and Taven Bryan checks out as an effort/McD sort of player and he is available then he would certainly be hard to pass up. -
I will do it, but not today. I'm in bed in Vegas with a hangover typing from my phone.

Last year at this time we were discussing his perceived value to be over 14m+ a year.
-
Sorry Bandit, but even if we just looked at Gaines value to this defense last season vs Watkins value to the Rams, it's not even close. This team was markedly better with Gaines on the field whereas Watkins put up lackluster numbers. But even if you want to try to make the case that Watkins was almost as valuable to the Rams as Gaines was to the Bills, which I strongly disagree with, the fact that the Bills got a 2nd rounder makes this a clear KO of a trade for the Bills. Remember the value that everyone thought Watkins was going to be demanding to remain a Bill beyond his option year? We dodged a bullet and I'm glad we got good value out of that trade
-
That's not the point. The point is that he believes he's worth more than he is.
-
I would be very surprised if they had already offered a 2nd rounder, I could see them throwing a feeler towards the Eagles to see if they might be interested in trading him for that pick but not offer. It's too early in the process to commit a 2nd. Not saying they wouldn't ultimately do that and I wouldn't be opposed, just that there are way too many more evaluations and scenarios that have to play out before they make such an offer. It doesn't comport with who they are.

Bucky Brooks NFL combine winners (Allen) & losers (Rosen).

Often times the combines is a showcase for fool's gold. Buyer beware -
Assuming Darnold and Rosen go 1-2 ... would you make this trade?
Magox replied to Bakin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really want Mayfield or Rosen and even though I voted No, I would definitely trade both 1sts, Cordy and a 2nd for him. Tbh, if push came to shove I would probably trade the 2019 1st as well even though it is a very steep price. -

I think from a raw talent perspective he is extremely impressive, but I'm not sold on him and I'd hope we wouldn't mortgage the farm on him. However, I would be completely fine with doing so for Mayfield and Rosen. I think those guys will be legitimate franchise QBs. -

I hope he does and even more importantly I hope it's not us. -
Not sure I agree with this characterization. Unnamed anonymous scouts or ex scouts and some talking heads I don't think accurately reflect what pro contracted scouts believe. I could be wrong
-
Beane and co. Are looking at every scenario and option. White could possibly be someone they like alot and he would be the scenario to be the guy to groom behind whatever veteran QB we go with, while using all the other high draft picks to improve the team.

3-1: Brandon Beane on WGR from the Scouting Combine
Magox replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I think about $5m a year sounds about right and probably should be close to being able to get it done. His play throughout the season wasn't as high of a level as it had been in the past but he did turn it up back to his old play at the end of the season. The intangibles for him are off the charts and the Bills are a better team with him playing than not. I suspect he'll be back. -
I found the that decision to not attempt at least to my knowledge to retain him. He seemed like to me a natural fit. Now that is just crazy. I do think he is probably worth around the $6-$8m a year range but $10m??

Because Ducasse didn't struggle nearly as much the peanut gallery know at TBD believed that he did. -
Marcus Peters to Rams - '18 4th & 19 2nd round picks
Magox replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It appears that the Rams are in a win now mode at the expense of the future. They have made some questionable trades if this indeed is true. -
I suspect there are a few considerations at play, primarily the fact that they are willing to pay the $6 million as an insurance policy guaranteeing that they have an adequate option with Taylor. However that does not preclude the option of drafting a QB or for that matter upgrading at the position via FA. Beane has stated that 2019 was going to be the year that they would be looking good in terms of cap space and paying the roster bonus doesn't affect that. I think another consideration which would be secondary is that by paying the bonus we do have more potential draft capital and TT is much more attractive draft bait with the Bills paying the bonus. However I do disagree with the notion that the Bills would trade him for whatever value they could get. That doesn't make sense, they would most likely only trade him if they have a better option in place unless the trade offer was too good to pass up. I'm not convinced that TT will be our starting QB next season but I am convinced that this is the strategy and that it's quite possible he could be our QB.

Kim Pegula seeks compromise with players on social protests

Comparing how Basketball and Football is not exactly the same. The average basketball fan most likely doesn't have the same demographic makeup as the average football fan. I would be willing to guess that the average basketball fan is much more to the left than the average football fan. -
Just goes to show you that Beane knows much more than our resident "experts" on the board.

What makes it more difficult for the Rams is that they traded away a quality starting DB and more importantly a 2nd rounder. Sammy's lack of production must have come to a shock to them and now they are stuck with this decision to make. The only saving grace is that the Rams played really well this year and that masks the poor decision they made to trade away 2 good assets for one lackluster one.
