  1. They used the word "injury". Sounds like it could be a car accident or some sort of accident that occurred not related to football.
  2. The end result is the following list of players for Buffalo, in order of the positions listed in the guide: RB Damien Williams FB Derrick Coleman WR John Brown WR Andre Roberts TE Jeff Cumberland OT Austin Pasztor DT Daequan Jones DT Kyle Williams DE Ezekiel Ansah DE Arthur Moats LB Bruce Carter CB EJ Gaines I'm very high on Ezekiel Ansah, I think he would dramatically improve our front 7, even though I do believe we probably won't want to pay the high price he will be commanding. He's most likely a $12 M a year guy. John Brown makes a lot of sense with his ability to stretch the field. He probably could be had a decent price. Bruce Carter is a guy I loved coming out of college. Lots of speed and can cover TE's.
  3. My ideal off season would be to FA pickups-re-signing: Alex Smith Nigel Bradham Gaines Kyle Williams Dontari Poe Draft picks 1A) Maurice Hurst - DT 1B) Rashaan Evans - ILB 2A) Equanimeous Brown - WR 2B) Billy Price - Guard
  4. Good point, so if one well-regarded QB coach didn't work out for us, then surely any other well-regarded coach will suck as well.
  5. I'm not going to get into all that, but I will say this. Without doubt, Jordan used to receive tons of phantom calls as well. Their was much more of a conspiracy back then among fans that believed that the NBA did everything necessary to protect their biggest asset, which was Michael Jordan. I'm a Jordan guy, I admire him for everything he has done and I believe he is the greatest of all time along with Pele and Maradona, but Brady deserves to be in that conversation.
  6. I'd still go with Jordan, but Brady deserves to be in the conversation as the GOAT of any sport. For my take, he is the best football player to have ever lived, what he does is very Jordanesque in that when he decides to really turn it on he is often times unstoppable. I just can't wait till he retires.
  7. For me this would be a dream first round draft.
  8. Schwartz is gonna bring the heat
  9. It's easy to second guess things right now, Taylor looked to be the best option we had available to us. Foles just came off of a bad year with the Rams, even though I attribute that to the Rams organization and coaching more than anything but none the less it was not a good year for him. Taylor did lead us to the playoffs so I'm not going to cry about that but without doubt we could do much better than Tyrod and in retrospect Foles most likely would have been a slight upgrade.
  10. He's been a tremendous pickup for the Eagles. You gotta hand it to them. Look at what Foles has done in the post season this year. Vs the Falcons Foles was 23 of 30, completing 77% of his passes for 246 yards with a QB rating of 101. Now vs the best defense in the NFL he was 26 for 33 completing over 80% of his passes with three touchdowns and no picks with a QB rating of 141. I just read something interesting about him, he is only the second QB since the NFL merger to have had his first 3 NFL post season games with over a 100 QB rating. No matter what anyone says, up until now he has been a baller in the playoffs. Yeah, the guy has been pretty good.
  11. No matter how you slice it and dice it, the decision from the Eagles to bring back Foles was one of the best off season moves they made. He's been very good since taking over for Wentz and without him they most likely wouldn't go to the Super Bowl. Aside from his terrible stint with the Rams he's been pretty good and he has shown some flashes of being better than that. Another point that I think is important, I think this speaks very well of Doug Pederson and Frank Reich. Look at how successful their QB's have been. Wentz played at a probowl level and he goes out and then Foles steps in and plays at nearly the same level. Great job those guys have done with their offense.
  12. They both had excellent games. This was the best I had seen Dareus play in quite some time. Hopefully for him he can stay focused on football and stay out of trouble in the off season.
  13. Mills is actually a very serviceable player for his price. Don't get me wrong I want to upgrade from him but I think he provides quality depth. Not sure I would want to cut him.
  14. That is an excellent point. It is much easier to have a successful passing game and therefore better stats than it used to be. A 60% passer back then is akin to a 65%+ passer today.
  15. Cleveland would instantly be a much better team. That would make sense for them.
  16. If we are able to get him for around the $25 million a year range, you do it. But I doubt that we would be able to get him for that price, he will have a lot of suitors lined up and QB's as good as Cousins very rarely hit the open market. So there will be a lot of interest for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets closer to $30 M a year and I think he'll probably end up in Denver. The next best option would be Smith, not quite as good as Cousins, but he's a good smart QB. He'll lead you to the playoffs and a team that will consistently win. Could be had at a much cheaper price and you could still be looking for your young franchise QB while you have a good QB at the helm.
  17. Cousins and Smith would be big upgrades over what we've had. Cousins is the more quality thrower and they would both lead us to more playoff appearances. Cousins would break the bank while Smith would be more manageable but probably couldn't take us as deep in the playoffs as Cousins. I wouldn't be upset with either one of the two.
  18. That is not middling. Since 2011 he has won more than twice as many as he has lost, he has nearly 3 times more TD's than interceptions and a QB rating in the mid to upper 90's. Not middling by any stretch of the imagination.
  19. He has not been "middling" by any stretch. He's been pretty good until this past year where he was excellent. And I don't know anything that Reid doesn't know, Reid most likely believes that he could do better with Mahomes, hence the trade up to get him. All one has to do is look at his stats, his win loss record and the amount of times he's gone to the post season. His weakness has been that he doesn't make the wow passes and he hasn't played his best football in the playoffs. I'd love to have a guy like Alex while we are searching for our young franchise QB. He'd be a great guy to mentor that QB. He's not great, he's good.
  20. Yes, really. He's been a pretty good QB over the past 7 years and a really good QB this past year. QB's now a days are playing well into their late 30's. Look at Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger, and Rivers. These guys are still playing at an extremely high level and there is no reason to believe that Smith won't continue to play well. Look at his stats since 2011 He has 69 and 35 record as a starter. 133 TD's and 43 interceptions with an average QB rating throughout that period of just below 100. He has consistently had over a 90 QB rating every single year since 2011 except one year and even in that year he had an 89 QB rating. He's one of the 5 most mobile QB's in the league, he's smart and with him as the QB, we are probably looking at a consistently winning record and multiple playoff appearances over the next few years. In the meantime you still keep searching for your young franchise QB. He certainly is a step up from Tyrod and I'd be happy to see us trade for him. He's worth a 2nd and a 3rd.
  21. He most likely is not towards the end of his career. He is in the prime of his career and the way most QB's are playing and as agile as he still is, he probably has at LEAST 5-6 more good years left.
  22. I'm going to trust what Beane/McD's evaluation. Lamar has gotten better each year and would be the best running QB since Michael Vick. I do believe he will have a career in the NFL I just don't know if it will be as a successful starting QB. Rudolph is less sexy but he's a good pocket passer. Throws with anticipation, good accuracy and has the look of what a pocket passer should look like. His lack of arm strength is a concern but I don't find it to be all that weak either. If I had to choose myself, which would be a very uninformed view it would be Rudolph.
  23. I'm guessing any day now we will see more hires
