  1. Mead, I hear what you are saying but I don't believe we can consider AJ our future QB just yet. If the Beane/McD had thought so they probably would have targeted him earlier with a more substantial contract
  2. Yeah, I'm not advocating that they don't "overpay" if that's what their value chart says, more that they just stick to their valuations. And I do agree that they very likely regard one or a couple of the QB prospects highly because of the moves you mentioned. I still think there is a good chance they get a QB early
  3. "Trust the process" We have been hearing it for over a year now and now more than ever, Beane/McD need to live up to their mantra. When they were hired I read up on them as I'm sure all of you had and one of the things that instantly stuck out to me was the detailed nature of their vision. They proved their mettle with the Watkins/Darby trade, this is not to rehash the validity of the trade but to reinforce that they did indeed have a process and they had the stones to follow through with it despite the withering criticism from certain quarters of the fanbase. They have a draft board, they need to trust their board and stick to it. They have a value for each player and they need to trust that value and not feel the pressure to chase. If they value someone very highly and it's above what the trade/draft charts then pull the trigger. If they like a player but the player has now significantly gone above the value they set for that person then Trust the process and move to the next player. Their scouts have been at it all year, they have been laser focused on this and they need to trust their valuations and stick to it. That's my hope.
  4. Welcome to the board. As intriguing as Lamar is I'm not sold on him. But if Beane picks him I will trust the process and roll with it.
  5. I imagine there is an intense debate going on with the Giants and it basically boils down to whether they want to make a run at the super bowl within the next 1-3 years or make the decision to help solidify their future over the next 10 years. Right now my hunch is that they are leaning with "Win now" and Barkley is awfully intriguing. Then again this issue with OBJ sort of throws a wrench in things and they may be leaning towards a QB. I think they will listen to offers but no matter what scenario their line of thinking falls, I think ultimately their asking price will be too much.
  6. Bills Detective was trolling/poking fun at some of the wild over reactions and extreme and absurd hot takes we have seen over the past couple hours. What's funnier is that there are 6 nincompoops who agreed with his troll job.
  7. Because we have a bunch of overreacting ninny's as fans.
  8. I've been saying for a long time now that 4 will be taken in the top 10 and to bank on it.
  9. It's possible and there have been some rumors to substantiate that.
  10. One thing about Elway, he is willing to swing and miss on QB's, and often. If he likes one of the QBs a lot and they are still available at 5, he's picking that QB, despite the big Keenum contract.
  11. If Rosen was the Bills target, I don't think we get him. If Mayfield is the target, then I think Cleveland has got to be the trade partner. I just don't see the Giants passing on Barkley and if they were it would be an outrageous demand.
  12. This concept is clearly too much for some of our Bills fellow brethren to comprehend.
  13. Nonsense! No Relaxing! Be hysterical! Threaten Beane's Job if he doesn't trade up and overpay! Mortgage the farm! Mortgage your kids farm! Mortgage off and sell everything!!!! Trade up NOW!!!!
  14. They wanted Chubb, trading with the Bills wouldn't have gotten them Chubb. Why are you guys having a hard time with this concept?
  15. It's going to be a kings ransom to get to 2, specially now that the Jets overpaid by all metrics in order to do so. The Colts from everything I heard really wanted Chubb and by making this trade with the Jets, they probably still get Chubb and 3 more second rounders. If they had made this trade with the Bills they probably don't get Chubb. I'm thinking Rosen may be out of the question now unless they are willing to give up a ridiculous premium. I hope to god that Mayfield is the guy they truly want and if so a trade up with Cleveland at 4 may be a possibility. Also, this idea that you pay whatever it takes for an unknown quantity is absurd. Don't get me wrong I want to go after Rosen or Mayfield if that is truly their target but you just don't hand over a blank check, there has to be a limit to what you are willing to pay. Beane has proven himself to be much more competent than anyone we've had in decades and anyone assuming that his job is on the line simply because we decide to not get fleeced on a trade up to 2 is talking out of their ass.
  16. The Colts will still get their guy in Chubb - which they probably wouldn't have if the they had traded with the Bills and they get all these other picks. Win win for the Colts.
  17. That's not his strength. Not terrible but not good either.
  18. Welcome! Preston Brown - Nothing special, won't wow you. But he's durable and consistently decent. Cordy Glenn - Has pro bowl talent but is not durable and has recently had lots of problems staying on the field.
  19. Milano is about it.
  20. Great topic and good question. So I have to categorize this in a few different buckets. Who do I believe will have the biggest impact? Star Lotulelei - His stats won't be eye popping but I believe he will make the rest of the defense better because of his ability to clog the middle. Being able to help stop the run will force more teams to throwing the ball more and giving opposing offenses more third and longs which plays right into our DB's strengths. Who do I believe will grade out as the highest pickup? Vontae Davis - Despite his recent downturn I believe he will bounce back. I think under McD he will get back to basics and at this stage of his career going more into zone coverage will play into his strengths and not expose him as much due to him losing a step speedwise. Why do I think it's playing into his strength, because he has always been good at playing the ball and he is a ferocious tackler which is what is needed in McD's defensive scheme. I think he's going to excel this year. Who do I believe is going to be the bargain pickup? McCarron - Don't get me wrong, I don't believe he will be the franchise QB, but I do believe he will be serviceable and I do believe that he will be about on par with TT. Not the same type of player as TT but about the same overall impact which was OK. And getting an OK QB while we are grooming our franchise QB at the price we got him for would be amazing. Who do I believe will be the biggest fan favorite? Murphy - I don't believe he is just going to be a fan favorite, but I also believe he is going to be highly productive. We desperately need to be able to get after the QB better than we did last year. He will help us do that. I think he's going to be stout against the run, I believe he will get after the QB and I do believe he will embrace the city and instantly become one of our favorites.
