CBS: maybe we were wrong about the Bills
vincec replied to dtgolder's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simms has been on the Josh Allen bandwagon from day 1. -
No offense to Marv, but that was Jaron's major problem right there.

Any Updates on the Foster Injury?
vincec replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I stinks for him that he got hurt but he wasn't exactly a key contributor. I'm sure they can find a comparable replacement if he can't play. -
Did he even have a GM? Or was that during the GM by committee period?
-
If they don't activate him now then they might as well cut him and bring in someone else.
-
The only QB he drafted in the 1st round was Lynch, and he was at the end of the round. I know you can point to Tom Brady or, more recently, Lamar Jackson, but the odds of getting a top QB after the first 15 picks seem pretty low given how highly valued the position is. For a QB to fall into the second round he must really have some question marks.

Until you have a good, or least highly promising, QB on your team, you need to draft the first QB you like that is available every draft, IMO. So that means that either Elway didn't think Allen and/or Jackson were good, which is looking false at this point, or he doesn't understand the value of the QB position in the modern game, which seems ridiculous considering he played it. Either way, it's totally on him, IMO.

Predict the Bills record in the last three tough games

4-1, with the loss coming to the Jets in the meaningless finale. -
With all the running they did Feliciano and Long are arguably a better combination anyway.

Jerry Sullivan on our podcast: Anecdote about McDermott
vincec replied to gomper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he did it to you or your family, I'll bet you would care. The Bills winning doesn't justify treating people like sh*t. If it does for you then you need to seriously reexamine your morals. Plus this is besides the actually point of the anecdote, which is that he portrays himself as a god fearing, family oriented, team building individual but then berates people like a school yard bully behind the scenes while the organization suppresses the reporting to protect his image. If this is all OK then why not report it on BB.com or OBD? Obviously it shows what a good leader he is. -
Jerry Sullivan on our podcast: Anecdote about McDermott
vincec replied to gomper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah sure. Completely justifiable way to respond to a story you don't like. "Controlling the small details" by f-bombing and physically intimidating someone trying to his job into doing what you want instead. ? -
Jerry Sullivan on our podcast: Anecdote about McDermott
vincec replied to gomper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The context was in the overall discussion of how the media has been pressured by the Pegulas to suppress any negative reporting on the team. Fairburn first reported than McDermott was unhappy that word had leaked that the Bills posted quotes from Pat Shurmer about Josh Allen around the facility the week before they played the Giants, and then when reporting on an open practice, he noted that the team was practicing fake punts. This apparently pushed McDermott over the edge and he unleashed on the Fairburn like he stole something. He asked him if he was "on the team or not", as you mention above, while berating him. Sullivan noted that the media is so cowed that after this happened, not only did they not call McDermott out or ask for an apology , they didn't even report it. -

There kind of is actually, if it's true. -

Very interesting -
Just think of how good Kaepernick and Taylor looked with Roman at OC compared to how they looked elsewhere. Plus, in Buffalo they had the best running game in the league outside of the QB as well. As has been mentioned, being a good coordinator is totally different from being a good HC (see Phillips, Wade) but he knows the running game like nobody else. If it was a good job then it wouldn't be available. Someone needs to go in there and turn it into something good.

John Brown is leading the AFC in receiving
vincec replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't really studied it carefully, but do the Bills really get that much man coverage underneath with a QB who can run like Allen? What do they do, leave a spy on him? -
Maybe I'm misreading the chart, but doesn't it show that Murphy draws a double team less than the average DE and that, when he is double teamed, he gets off those blocks slower than the average? That doesn't seem like cause for a vindication post.

Seantrel Henderson - OT depth? (Update - visiting Bills)

Yeah, can’t wait to see that... -

Why do you think Tyreek Hill is doing so well? -
Shhh...

I wonder if Ronnie Jones is available?

I like the guy that commented that he wanted to look like Richard Jewell, in honor of the movie coming out. Spot on. If he doesn't call runs on first down then they end up with around 8 carries total in the game.

John Brown showing he can be a #1 WR
vincec replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the focus on getting a "#1 WR" is misplaced. Brown is solid. The problem the team has is that he's apparently the only solid WR they have. Isaiah McKenzie had the second most targets today and he probably couldn't even make a lot of other rosters. -
Steelers Browns: who should get suspended and how long?
vincec replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These suspensions are mostly about PR. This incident happened on a nationally televised game and is being covered fairy heavily by the national press. Therefore, I suspect a relatively stiff suspension for a first time incident, maybe 4 games. This, of course, will be appealed and probably reduced to 2.
