So he tweets to the public but the comment isn't meant for their ears. Your argument makes no sense at all, so I think it's time to move on. Carry on.
-
He is tweeting it for all the public to see. Those are the "average joe's" I'm talking about. Who do you think reads his tweets? He knows his audience as well as you do. If you think it's cool for him to announce to the public that he deserves more money then that's fine, but don't pretend that he's doing something else or that the public gives a crap about what he thinks he deserves.
-
It is more widely publicized, but I'm not sure it's more powerful or effective. It certainly doesn't help his public image and I doubt that it has any impact on the NFL owners, who are likely to try and negotiate the best deal they can regardless of what Sammy Tweets.
-
But why is this idea that he is underpaid being communicated on a wide scale to people who make much less and are likely to be unsympathetic (as you see by this thread)? Let your agent and/or the players reps deal with the Owners. Millionaires complaining to the average joe about how they are underpaid is low class no matter how you look at it.

I agree with this and Hughes has been less effective since the decline and departure of Mario on the other side. However, I voted LB. There isn't a top level starter in the group unless last season in the 3-4 was a rebirth for Alexander instead of an outlier.

Not me. I was one of the losers listening on the radio. But I'll tell you, hearing that game with Van Miller making the calls was pretty great too.

Yeah. If you don't like Sammy Watkins post then stop watching football and listening to music. Nice post. It's hard to argue with iron clad logic like that. You should look into a law career.
-
If it has nothing to do with anyone else then why is he broadcasting it on twitter for everyone else to see? Your defense of him is asinine. He want's everyone to see the grave injustice of what he makes compared to other athletes... as if what he makes now isn't an outrage to everyday people already. He will get very little sympathy as you can see from the reaction on this thread. And these are Bills fans. Imagine what the reaction of the general public would be who don't give a crap about Sammy Watkins at all.
-
Not mad, more turned off. Multi-millionaires bitching about not making enough money in public is very low class. It's really a slap in the face to the other 99% of the world. Do it in private or have your agent work on it. But hey, class has long since left the realm of public discussion so I guess it's all good.

You mean he exempts himself if NFL players make more money? I missed that part.

Who's closer... Bills or Sabres?
vincec replied to ultimatebeing17's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both are a ways out so who knows. So many things would have to come together for both franchises that it's impossible to predict. If I had to randomly guess I'd say it's the Bills, because if they can ever find a top QB they'll be half way there in today's NFL. There are probably only 10 teams or so with a QB that's good enough to win a Super Bowl with so if you are one of them then you have really improved your odds. Whereas in the NHL you need more more of a critical mass of talent... unless you can find the next Hasek or something- a once in a generation type player. -
PFF: The Unstoppable Run Schemes of the Buffalo Bills
vincec replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, but the Bills weren't running just one concept last season. That was a major key to their success. They would run zone, man, read option, iso, traps, misdirection, etc. They would run the QB, RBs and WRs. That's a lot to prepare for and defense's just couldn't handle all of it. The Cowboys were more of an example of a team that ran a few simple concepts but just imposed their will. The Bills OL is not at that level. -
PFF: The Unstoppable Run Schemes of the Buffalo Bills
vincec replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's going to take a step back with less variety in the schemes. Last year's run game was so developed and diverse that it could really attack any defense regardless of its alignment or disposition. I think this year it's going to be up to the passing game to step it up a notch and back defenses off, otherwise it's going to be hard to maintain the level of effectiveness that they had last season. -
Vince Young cut (update: and complaining)

Not to pile on here, but VY was just cut by the CFL. How can he possible think that he is ready for the NFL over anybody? -
Build your own Bills coaching staff....
vincec replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there are two answers. If you were going to do it based on performance and reputation, without regard to actually having a functioning coaching staff that could work together and compliment each other, then my answer is: HC Doug Marrone: Best W-L percentage of the guys mentioned. The HCs final measure. OC Chan Gailey: Seemed to do the most with the least. If he had a top QB and WR there's no telling how good the offense may have been when he was here. DC Gregg Williams: Best of a tough field. ST Dick Jauron: I don't think any of those guys knew much about ST, but the best ST the Bills ever had were with Mularkey and Jauron as HC so one of those two. If you are thinking of putting together an actual staff, then: HC Mike Mularkey: I don't seen how Marrone and Gailey could work together, so one of them has to go. Mularkey and Gailey both have those Pittsburgh roots. OC Chan Gailey DC Gregg Williams ST Dick Jauron -
The strategy of a quick, short passing game is fine. What the Pats do well is get the best personnel and schemes to execute it. The run their offense quickly and spread the field which limits the defense's ability to put it sub packages and disguise their defense. The have an army of WRs who are very quick off the line and can run after the catch. They have two great TEs who are very tough in the short passing game. And of course they have one of the best QBs all time. So it's very hard to play against this. You can't disguise what you're doing to buy time for your DL, it's very hard to match up against all their receivers/TEs and where you leave a mismatch, Brady usually finds it.

Bills 1964 and 1965 Championship Game films
vincec replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chargers: #1 rushing offense, #1 passing offense, #1 total offense. #1 rushing defense, #1 passing defense, #1 total defense. Shut out 23-0, at home. How about that for a championship game performance? Too bad the 1990s teams couldn't muster a game like that at least once. -
Either that or the LT threw himself at his shoes in a half backed cut block.

Bill O'Brien and Marvin Lewis are both too low. Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy are both too high.

Chiefs Extend Andy Reid and Part Ways with GM Dorsey
vincec replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. There is no reason to believe that Andy Reid wasn't call in the shots in the draft. -
The line is not full of premium athletic specimens, so they aren't getting any love. I know that Roman's schemes helped a lot with the run game but they deserve some love.
-
I'm not sure I understand how the run blocking grade can be an A- when they had the best running game in the league by every possible measure. What does it take to get an A?
