  1. I assume that this is a joke so I will only say that the goal of getting people off of welfare should be to get them good jobs, not find any excuse possible to kick them off. And redistributing this money to billionaires for their personal profit is so undemocratic, mean spirited and devoid of morals that it is difficult to see how anyone could say it in seriousness.
  2. Can you imagine Barry Sanders not being your starting RB? Damn.
  3. So take money from people on welfare and give it to billionaire owners who peddle entertainment? Awesome.
  4. Campbell is my all time favorite RB, but he wouldn't be as effective vs the big boys today. He would still be a very, very good RB, because he was more than just power, but he wouldn't be the human highlight reel of power running that he was in his era.
  5. Everyone would have some trouble because defenders are so much bigger and stronger than they were in previous eras. This is especially true for the bigger backs. Jim Brown was bigger than half the defensive ends he played against. He might have a little more trouble breaking the DEs tackle as he goes around the line and running over the LB these days. The guys that relied primarily on quickness and vision would probably do the best. Being a good receiver would also be a big plus in today's game. I like Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Gale Sayers, Marshall Faulk or Thurman Thomas.
  6. The Ryan hiring seems asinine in retrospect but there were a lot of people who thought that he'd put the defense over the top, taking them from top 5 to #1.
  7. Apparently. I saw the title and thought this was going to be about Bridgewater but I guess not.
  8. I think inside zone and man blocking plays suit our lineman better. You need a more athletic line to run outside zone plays. Agree. How can you get better than the best in the league? There's really only one way to go by changing things.
  9. Forget Bridgewater. Head to Washington to work on Cousins.
  10. It's a tough board for tough people..
  11. I think the fans should strike. We want reduced ticket prices at the stadiums, reduced concessions costs and no more TV blackouts. Complete boycott of opening day next season. No attendees at the stadiums and no one watching on TV. I'll bet that one week of that would do it.
  12. I was thinking the exact same thing reading this thread. And before people chime in, I know that it was in the parking lot outside the water park as they were closing... like that makes a huge difference. Regarding Washington though, why would you take out your gun when the police arrive to clear the parking lot? There HAS to have been something going on there that was threatening in some way. Otherwise taking out your gun just when the police get there is the definition of asking for trouble...
  13. Either that or the police shoot you. No big deal.
  14. Me too. And also vs Seattle (grudgingly). I absolutely can't root for Pete Carroll and Richard Sherman. The look on Sherman's face when NE picked off that pass in the end zone was probably worth seeing NE win the game....
  15. This DL is not as good as the one 3 years ago with M Williams. Shaq has a long way to go to be Mario from 3 years ago. Also, the DL won't get the same freedom to penetrate that Schwartz gave them. I expect them to be solid but not dominant. They really need this to be a season where Lawson and Washington take big steps forward otherwise this could easily turn into a weakness by next season after K Williams retires.
  16. So he tweets to the public but the comment isn't meant for their ears. Your argument makes no sense at all, so I think it's time to move on. Carry on.
  17. He is tweeting it for all the public to see. Those are the "average joe's" I'm talking about. Who do you think reads his tweets? He knows his audience as well as you do. If you think it's cool for him to announce to the public that he deserves more money then that's fine, but don't pretend that he's doing something else or that the public gives a crap about what he thinks he deserves.
  18. It is more widely publicized, but I'm not sure it's more powerful or effective. It certainly doesn't help his public image and I doubt that it has any impact on the NFL owners, who are likely to try and negotiate the best deal they can regardless of what Sammy Tweets.
  19. But why is this idea that he is underpaid being communicated on a wide scale to people who make much less and are likely to be unsympathetic (as you see by this thread)? Let your agent and/or the players reps deal with the Owners. Millionaires complaining to the average joe about how they are underpaid is low class no matter how you look at it.
  20. I agree with this and Hughes has been less effective since the decline and departure of Mario on the other side. However, I voted LB. There isn't a top level starter in the group unless last season in the 3-4 was a rebirth for Alexander instead of an outlier.
  21. "You do dumbass things, pretty soon you're going to be labeled as a dumbass."
  22. Not me. I was one of the losers listening on the radio. But I'll tell you, hearing that game with Van Miller making the calls was pretty great too.
  23. Yeah. If you don't like Sammy Watkins post then stop watching football and listening to music. Nice post. It's hard to argue with iron clad logic like that. You should look into a law career.
  24. If it has nothing to do with anyone else then why is he broadcasting it on twitter for everyone else to see? Your defense of him is asinine. He want's everyone to see the grave injustice of what he makes compared to other athletes... as if what he makes now isn't an outrage to everyday people already. He will get very little sympathy as you can see from the reaction on this thread. And these are Bills fans. Imagine what the reaction of the general public would be who don't give a crap about Sammy Watkins at all.
