  1. Johnson would have a better case if he didn't stink. He had plenty of opportunity to prove that he was worthy of being a starting QB in the NFL after he left Buffalo and failed. So, Flutie looks like the right choice in retrospect.
  2. How do you know he's not #3? 0 surprises besides that. Lol. I think a better term might have been "preliminary."
  3. Lol. Nice I'm sure they'll try and have been trying for that matter. The good thing about Sammy though is that he can create the space himself and can even make tough catches when there is no space. He just needs to stay on the field and get some decent QB play from Taylor.
  4. Agree 100%. He is still young and was improving each year. Not sure what happens to get him cut, but just about everyone on TBD was ok with it, which surprised me.
  5. Right. I'm sure there's no correlation.
  6. That was the best. It's like saying that someone would be a great WR if the coaches could only figure out how to get him open.
  7. Agree. But that's more because Tannehill sucks. This isn't the Cutler of 10 years ago.
  8. 😆Correct.
  9. He's better then Tannehill so it's an upgrade. They'd probably be better off tanking than bringing in Cutler to eke out 7 or 8 wins.
  10. It's hard to know what to make of reports that Lawson is beating Dawkins and Mills in the pass rush because Mills is a relatively weak pass protector and Dawkins is a rookie. It could be that Lawson is a better pass rusher than people thought or it could be that the tackles are worse than people thought. Hopefully it's the former but we won't know until they line up against some other teams.
  11. Who was Craig's QB again?
  12. It does? OK. Drafting one OL or RB in the top 3 rounds in his 3 NFL drafts (Kouandjio) doesn't really make a strong case to me. But you obviously have a different perspective on what it takes to create a strong running game so maybe Marrone has it figured out. Oh, and Whaley absolutely was trying to get him the players he wanted.
  13. My assertion is that Marrone talks about creating a dominating running game (OP) and runs the heck out of the ball (#1 in rushing attempts in 2013) but doesn't do anything to improve the running attack (employs a basic run scheme, didn't pick up any improvements at RB or OL while in Buffalo). That is why his running attacks have been ineffective (#14 and #26 in YPC). Which one of these facts is inaccurate? Do you think Marrone put the same amount of effort into developing a strong running game as Ryan did when he got here? Be honest and stop with the cherry picking above.
  14. #2 in total yards (#1 in attempts so that may offer some insight into what he's saying now) but #14 in YPC and then with his influence #26 in 2014. If you believe in the running game then you bring in players like Incognito, McCoy and Taylor draft guys like Miller. During Marrone's tenure they were drafting WRs and QBs instead. You also install a system like Roman had with multiple schemes and options so that you are difficult to defend. Heck, they even brought in WRs who were run specialists like Tate and Harvin. Everything was about helping the running game. That's how you become #1 in YPC and total yards for two straight seasons. Now, whether you can win a Super Bowl this way any more is a different question...
  15. What makes you say that? The Bills spent a ton of time in last year's training camp trying to improve their short and intermediate passing game over the middle (remember all the "OVER THE MIDDLE" posts from Astro's camp reviews.) It didn't lead to any sort of improvement once the season started.
  16. So they basically cut him.
  17. Can a DL tweak his hamstring if he's properly stretched out and warmed up? Just asking.
  18. What confuses me is how Marrone can possibly think that he can run the ball that effectively based on the horrific rushing game he had here in Buffalo. They were in the bottom half of the league both years I believe. When he left, the Bills hired an OC who actually knew something about the running game and the immediately moved to #1 in the league. If you are going to base your offense on the running game then you need a real running back and more than 4 rushing plays in your playbook.
  19. That's what I was thinking too. He should know him better than McD.
  20. This is without question. I know several parents that have already done this. Who knows the long term effect of this however.
  21. That's because they keep drafting them #1
  22. You may be right. Maybe they would have blown out the Giants. They SHOULD have blow out the Giants with Kelly. And I doubt that Washington blitzes Marino like they did Kelly with that quick release of his. That could easily have been another win with Marino at the controls.
  23. I didn't pick him, but in his defense he played well against the Giants and those Cowboys teams were among the best and most complete teams of all time. There was no beating them. The only Super Bowl that I thought he played poorly in was against Washington. Everyone here is picking Marino, with good justification, but he got embarrassed in his one Super Bowl trip so that's not everything.
  24. Moon, Fouts or Jurgensen
