  2. Thank you! That's insane!! How do they decipher between dives, QB sneaks, lunging for an extra yard, leaps over the pile, etc.? They're outsmarting themselves!
  3. Is it me? Have the rules changed? Earlier today, Heinicke ran in for a TD, diving at about the 2 yard line; the ball was at the half-yard line when his knee was down, but no one touched him (no down by contact), and he slid into the end zone - - TD!! Nope! I thought when a QB slides or any player for that matter, they are giving themselves up and ruled down where they started their slide - OK - fair rule. However when a QB or player dives, it's where the ball is when the runner is down (if they are going down due to contact). If there is no contact, I thought they were down once they were touched or if they enter the end zone - TD! What's the rule? Was there a rule change? (and it seems not fair) BTW on the next play, the QB sneak when he fumbles, regains the ball and extends it over the goal line, THAT also should have been a TD, but they said no again. I don't think he was ever "down", I think he was on top of bodies. Because he lost the ball, it cannot be said his forward progress stopped. He regained possession and extended it into the end zone. Please let me know your thoughts on this one too.
  4. Overall, the Bills weren't good enough last night. But even playing at an average level, they almost won. It's hard to overcome: Arrogant coaching. A simple FG sends the game to OT and an even-chance at winning. Overthinking decisions - sitting pass rushers Basham and Epenesa and playing 'big boys' Phillips & Butler to stop the run. How'd that work Coach? We looked soft last night. Poor red-zone execution. Tennessee looked like a #1 defense, pushed our o-line around. What happened to being Humble? We looked arrogant and got punched in the mouth. We need to smarten-up. We're better that we showed last night.
  5. People are hired for radio and/or TV for a reason. On radio - you should have a good-great voice. On TV, you should be attractive, clean, groomed, etc. If you're not a former player/coach/expert on the subject matter, you need to look and/or sound good (intelligent, pleasing pitch, etc.) For the above reasons, I do not care for Maddy or Murph. I never liked Van Miller - but he was excellent at his job. RJ & Ted Darling were great. Dan what's-his-name will hopefully be an acquired taste. I don't care for Chris Brown either - because he acts like the expert he isn't. Tasker has a great knowledge of the game and I can listen to that all day - no one I know has that. Ditto for Reuben and Thurman, etc.
  6. I liked Mike & Mike. Greeny is insufferable and I loved how Golic kept in check. Golic played the game and had good insight; Greeny is an obnoxious Jet fan who fancies himself as a know-it-all (far from it). When they broke them up - I stopped watching ESPN; now it's NFL Network's Good Morning Football. I have no use for espn except for: When the Manning Bros call the MNF Game on espn2 MAYBE when they start covering a little hockey, though I still watch the NHL Network recap show.
  7. Oh GREAT!!! Another Buffalo superstar with a neck problem!!!! @#$%^&*(!!!!
  8. Did you know . . . During the 1960s, only six professional defensive linemen were unanimous All-League selections for three or more years, Sestak (3), Bob Lily (5), Merlin Olsen (4), Willie Davis (3), Gino Marchetti (3), and Deacon Jones (3). The latter five, all former NFL players, have already been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while Sestak, a star from the AFL, like many other AFL players has been ignored by the Hall of Fame selectors. He was named to the First Team for his position at defensive tackle, along with Houston Antwine. In contrast, Buck Buchanan (a Second Team selection) is a Hall of Famer while Sestak is not. In January 1970, Sestak was selected as a member of the All-Time All-AFL Team, and in 2009 as a member of the Bills' 50th Anniversary Team. In 2019, despite not being in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he was chosen as a finalist for the NFL’s 100th Anniversary Team. Old time players really get shafted.
  9. Ignore him! Bills Mafia-rage gives him relevancy. Don't feed the weasel!!
  10. I recall Bledsoe and the Bills being very hot, then came a game against the Pats and Belecheat unveiled the defensive game plan to neutralize Bledsoe. They kicked our tails and the season headed into the toilet from there as week after week, defenses put pressure up the middle, moving Bledsoe and rendering him ineffective.
  11. Because they are broadcast locally (CBS-Ch 4 in Bflo), it is blacked-out on the NFL Network. https://www.fingerlakes1.com/2021/07/19/nfl-network-to-carry-every-buffalo-bills-preseason-game-live-in-2021/ Excerpt: An important note here is that these live games are subject to blackouts in the local area TV markets. That would mean, for instance, that a local network affiliate in Buffalo could broadcast the game and prevent the NFL Network show from airing at the same time. As always, this works out fine in theory, but it could put places like Rochester and Syracuse into the possible position of being blacked out but not having a local TV broadcast to watch instead.
  12. Browns are rated higher based on how they played the Chiefs last year - and that is valid.
  13. Rather be a 'Bug' than a 'Booger' tho . . .
  14. I'd be shocked if he weren't Top 10. This is voted on by the players and every interview I ever saw or read, they all seem to say he's a 'baller' + more.
  15. I hear you but I look at it more as a free peek for non-subscribers that could turn into paying customers for The Athletic (as long as you overtly cite them as the source). Excerpts like this is why I now subscribe to The Athletic. If I hadn't seen stuff like you shared, I wouldn't have subscribed because I wouldn't have known what I was getting for my money. Now I do and it is worth it!
  16. I still maintain our receivers couldn't get the separation we are all used to against KC because of the injuries: Diggs - oblique, Beasley - leg, Davis - leg, Brown - leg
  17. Guys don't like to wrap-up and tackle because that's how they hurt their shoulders. So they like to ram or stick runners. If the runner has good balance, they bounce off the hit and keep going.
  18. You're right. They're close. But Rodgers (approx) 48 TD's and 2-3 picks is what will earn him the award. Allen is def more deserving than Mahomes this year. Mahomes is winning, Allen is destroying. Completely agree. I don't know if there is a standard - there should be, but I think there isn't one, otherwise we'd know about it. So every voter does their own interpretation when they vote and we all argue/discuss it.
  19. Giddy. Giggling like a school girl. Feels great!
  20. NYC is such a pressure-cooker. Even if you think you can handle it, why would you want to? The NY media is is an angry horde and the distractions are through the roof. I'd consider everywhere else before NYC.
  21. Serious consideration would be nice, but Rodgers should win it. Interesting to note - w/4 AFC POW awards, Josh has won 25% of this season's awards. Mahomes has two and Rodgers one (In NFC).
  22. Where does PFF rank Morse now????? Anyone?
  23. Lots to think about. For clarification - best play or play that means the most (significance). If we keep it to best play, it may be easier - less differing of opinion and it would open it up to every single play ever. My first thought - Terrence McGee's end-of-half kick return against the Saints - if only he had scored!!! I'll need to chew on this. . .
