  1. Because we know who you are! Seriously - are you signed-in?
  2. Hard to gauge NT's. I always thought he was stout and the very best run plugger in the league. That being said, however, his stats seem to support those who say he was very good, but not necessarily HOF-worthy. Some Stats below: Yr Team W-L Rush Def Rank Games 1991 SF 10-6 5 16 1992 SF 14-2 4 16 1993 SF 10-6 16 12 1994 Denver 7-9 17 15 1995 Bflo 10-6 11 16 1996 Bflo 10-6 14 16 1997 Bflo 6-10 15 16 1998 Bflo 10-6 5 16 1999 Bflo 11-5 4 16 2000 Bflo 8-8 6 16 2001 Bears 13-3 2 16 2002 Bears 4-12 26 2 2003 Pats 14-2 4 10 2004 Raiders 5-11 22 16 2005 Raiders 4-12 25 16 2006 Browns 4-12 29 16 2007 Browns 10-6 27 1
  3. In my worthless opinion, I think the Colts name belongs to Baltimore, Browns to Cleveland, Rams to LA (Cleveland was before my time - LOL), Cardinals to St. Louis (if they ever get another team) and Oilers belong to Houston. Raiders should adopt a new name if/when they go to Vegas. Raiders belong to Oakland. Expansion/relocating franchises should get fresh starts with new names. If/when a former NFL city gets a new team, it should be able to resume with the historical nickname of their former team. The Ravens s/b the Colts and the Indy franchise should be the Shuckers, Hoosiers or something else. Oh yeah - I so agree with you on the Jazz. It was a great and fitting name for the New Orleans franchise. When the Pelicans re-entered the league, they should have had the option to "buy" or "claim" their Jazz name. On the plus side for Utah - they could have taken advantage of all the marketing gimmicks associated with adopting a new name and identity.
  4. No - but he did analyze tons of draftees and was most often wrong. Also, the Raiders weren't the 1st to hire a GM from the boobtube - the Lions hired Matt Millen . . . hmmmm, how did that work out?????
  5. Yep. Let that sink in . . . Respect and accolades come with winning. Hopefully we turn the corner this year and the winning starts next year.
  6. Kicking Teams / specialists practice together most often, so if the punter is capable - he does the holding. That said, for fakes it would be best if a QB held or someone who could throw and run . . . Logan Thomas? Micah Hyde? Interesting question.
  7. OMG!! Who will they get against Detroit and Miami!?!?!?!?! Who's left? Spielman is more Lion than Bill - so it won't be him. Maybe Jordan Phillips can lead the charge against the fish!! Bill Munson can lead the charge against the Lions! Granted, it's not the player that played for the Lions, but his namesake that worked in the Bills' offices. Close enough? We're obviously scraping the bottom of the barrel now . . . .
  8. Absolutely! Josh is a much greater throwing threat than Tyrod, hence the line isn't as crowded and he has more space to work with. Tyrod was able to excel in close quarters with his shiftiness. Josh is a more complete player as Tyrod isn't near the thrower Josh is.
  9. No. I loved the Dareus pick when it occurred and waited and waited for it to pay off - it did, but only about 25% of the time. It wouldn't be worth it - just look at his performance with the talent around him in Jacksonville. Dareus should be dominant - he's not. Kyle Williams is better and Jordan Phillips would be a better fit here.
  10. I love how Campbell's ankles were almost broken by the misdirection. All he could do is watch. He was never blocked/touched!
  11. Precisely why it is NOW common practice in the NFL to take the clock down to 4 seconds - so there is no opportunity for a kick return.
  12. OK so the 3 of us call it the Ralph! That's it! It's official - write it in blood!! ? I get why the Pegula's sold the rights, but I wish they would call it New Era Field at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Then we could call it a whole host of things - The Ralph and The Cap being 2 favs! That way they could splash New Era's name all around the inside and we would still have good names for the joint.
  13. I love articles like this - the strategy, the thinking, the conversations and maneuvering. I could read them all day - they are perfect for this dead period of the year when there are no real sports to watch. (I no longer care about baseball.)
  14. I know no one cares, but I think they thought they would have more info to tell us but something happened and they were not able to get clear info in time for the presser (they were probably waiting on lawyers to advise them) - hence the cryptic info.
  15. Murph seems like a nice guy but I don't care for his game calls and as an interviewer - I can't even listen to him. He constantly phrases his questions with his assumptive answers leaving the interviewee to simply answer with a YES! Drives me crazy!!! If he's interviewing Joe Blow - I want to hear what Joe thinks/says!! I love Sal - would like more access to him (radio/tv/etc.)
  16. Not that I am defending these guys - I have no opinion, but what are the chances of the 3 of them - from 1 team, being ranked consecutively? Slim to none, I'd say. Looks like typical Bleacher Report laziness to me! #104 Cedric Thronton #103 Adolphus Washington #102 Jerel Worthy
  17. The only loss is Gilmore and there's no way we were going to pay him $15 million! Sucks that he's going to the Pats, but it's good to see they're tying up that much cap space on him. Williams really didn't play last year and his neck injury was tragic, but at least he can walk away. But make no mistake, he was not really part of the secondary last year - and by the way - the secondary sucked w/Gilmore (as did the whole defense). So as I see it, any additions are good. Best of luck to the new coach and remember, Whaley is pretty adept at recognizing pro talent and has a very good track record w/FA's (see Zac Brown and LorAx).
  18. I do wish this was called more. With so many rules slanted toward the offense, it would be nice if this one would be called and alleviate the pressure these plays put on a defense.
  19. It will be interesting though, when the NFL Network does one of its Top 10 Shows for the Greatest Comebacks - where the Bills-Oilers Game will rank. Bills comeback was biggest-ever, no doubt - do the math. However, the greatest comeback? It will be hard to beat the Pats win in OT due to the stage and stakes.
  20. Poor guy - never got a break . . . Always victimized . . . Puleaseeeee!
  21. Yep. They're arrogant all right! And deservedly so! Oh, and it sucks - I hate them too!! Depending on your age you may remember the early 90's around here - we were the same way and the rest of the country hated us and we basked in it! It's a lot of fun being hated because you're good! After the 2nd Super Bowl (#26), it felt like the Playoffs and the Super Bowl was a birth right. That was fun and it made our winters a heckuva lot shorter! Go Falcons!!!!
