  1. I'm thinking Covid limits opportunities to get together and Josh has only been considered top notch the last 2 years.
  2. The success of an onside kick is way too low (8%). The touchback kick allows you to SET-UP your defense. The squib kick COULD result in a big return (Hardman plays well against the Bills, Hill was not back for the kick) - but it would have drained 7 seconds IF he tried a legit return. I am OK with what the Bills did on the kick-off, though I would be equally OK with the squib and would have went crazy had they tried an onside kick (unless they somehow recovered it - a very low 8% probability). My issue was the 13 seconds and the soft coverage. They should have rushed 2-3. That 3rd rusher could have tackled Kelce (defensive holding penalty), the other two rush and keep Mahomes in front of them. The other 8 defenders can provide normal coverage (one of them has to also tackle Hill) and make one of their other players beat us. This way we burn 5 seconds per play (do this 2-3 times, however many times we need to). As a game cannot end on a defensive penalty, their last play should have between 0-4 seconds and be no where near FG territory. If they beat us with a hail mary or trick play, so be it.
  3. You're right and what you say makes a point that I have been trying to make to many . . ."And my overarching point was that Mahomes and Allen were both at the top of their games last night, and that much (not all) of the struggles we observed with both defenses was due to the 2 best QBs in the NFL operating their respective offenses in that 4th quarter at a level that you may never see again." After 60 minutes they were dead even - one was NOT superior to the other, then OT came, Kansas scores and the Chiefs are great and the Bills are really good, but not great. What if the Bills get the ball and score a TD? Are they great and the Chiefs have fallen a notch? For this game, we'll never know, but I say both are great and DC's need to figure out how to stop/slow them down. Until then, it'll be a lot of fun watching these two.
  4. If I'm Ken Dorsey, thinking about my career, the decision comes down to how much I know about Daboll's offense. If I have it down cold, I stay on in Buffalo as OC and continue working with Josh and hopefully get the Lombardi Trophy. If I still have more to learn about the offense, I go with Daboll until I fully understand it - then I am free to go off confidently on my own to what ever situation looks best for me at that time.
  5. The NFL touts fairness: The last place team drafts first. (Fair & equitable.) The first place team drafts last. (Fair & equitable.) When the game begins, the coin flip winner gets to choose how the game starts. The coin flip loser chooses how the 2nd half starts. (Fair & equitable.) **In OT, after both teams killed themselves for 60 minutes and proved they were equals, the NFL lets a coin flip decide who gets the ball - and that's it. Nothing for the coin flip loser. No more fair & equitable. The coin flip loser must stop the coin flip winner with their defense or they go home. Not only is this unfair (in a league that touts their fairness), in a game like the Bills Chiefs on 1/23/22, it is especially so in that neither defense was particularly effective during the first 60 minutes or to further make the point, in the last minute and 54 seconds during which 25 points were scored and the lead changed hands several times!! I submit the following: In OT, in the playoffs, the coin flip winner has won 10 out of 11 occurrences (7 on the first drive or 64%)!! I cite: https://dknation.draftkings.com/2022/1/24/22899288/nfl-overtime-rules-coin-flip-odds-win-loss-playoffs-regular-season I propose there be a 10 minute OT Period. After each teams' offense possesses the ball, the highest score wins. (The only exception is if the kicking team or initial defense scores a safety.) I would also propose after TD's are scored, the scoring team MUST try a 2pt conversion. No PAT kicks.
  6. I hear you and agree; however, when you beat the evil empire (Pats), people feel gratitude because they don't need to see or hear about them anymore and the result is more positive hype..
  7. My bad! Thanks for the correction. Apologies if I got anyone's hopes up!

  9. Yeah, Aaron Rodgers always seems to throw TD's when he has a free play. He doesn't throw it away on free plays.
  10. . . .probably because Brady uses the short passing game as a substitute for the run game.
  11. I think the softness argument is overstated. The defense is not soft - they were gashed for 1 run. If that hadn't happened, we win 10-6! Pats ran 46 times for 222 yds or 4.8/carry; take away the TD and it was 3.5 yds/carry. Incidentally, the same goes for Titan's Henry and his long run. The defense allowed 14 pts, 1 TD. If we had said that would happen before the game - everyone of us would have taken that in a heartbeat. The problem is the sputtering offense: a finesse O-Line Avg running backs (at best) An over-insistence to run the ball. 25 19 rushes (6 were by Josh) The coaches (by insisting to run) made it look like we were playing not to lose. -The Bills need to use short passes as their run game. RB, TE & WR screens; RPO's for Josh; funnel screens. -If they want to run, let the pass set it up. Trying to establish the run-game when you really don't have one will not work on team with stout D-Lines. -I felt like every time we ran the ball, we were giving the Pats a play off. -Josh played well. If he had 9-10 more passes - what would have happened? -This was a close game and we lost. We need to be more effective in the red zone. Had Bass hit his 33 yarder, he would have had an attempt to win it on our last possession. We were not trounced. I wouldn't be surprised if we blow the Pats out on the 26th. Don't get me wrong, I am plenty frustrated, but mostly because we are not playing as we have been designed to play. We are a high-octane offense whose coaches feel the need to play like our 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust opponents. Had the Bills come out fast and scored 2-3 TD's, the game would have been over - but, alas, we tried to establish the run and it was not effective. (And that's an understatement. By the way, Brady threw 51 times last week and around only 10 were for longer that 10 yds. We'll see this week how to use a controlled passing game as a component of the run game.
  12. . . .remember, Marino had nothing behind him - why he & the Fish always came in 2nd.
  13. Buffalo vs. Jacksonville . . . remember when Tyson lost to Buster Douglas - it was completely out of left field . . . when Douglas showed he was for real in that bout, it was too late for Tyson to respond. Same thing happened to Bills v Jags. Our 'boxers' (the OL) couldn't come back from the early haymakers and we had our 3rd loss. It almost happened vs Miami, but we knew that was a divisional game and we had more respect for them. To me, the silver lining vs the Jags is they were the lowest opponent we are going to face in 2021 - and look what happened - I think (and hope) a lesson was learned last week and we come out guns blazing for each opponent the remainder of the season. No more, "We got this" - BS! It's the NFL and we are gonna see most teams' best efforts against the Bills.

  15. Thank you! That's insane!! How do they decipher between dives, QB sneaks, lunging for an extra yard, leaps over the pile, etc.? They're outsmarting themselves!
  16. Is it me? Have the rules changed? Earlier today, Heinicke ran in for a TD, diving at about the 2 yard line; the ball was at the half-yard line when his knee was down, but no one touched him (no down by contact), and he slid into the end zone - - TD!! Nope! I thought when a QB slides or any player for that matter, they are giving themselves up and ruled down where they started their slide - OK - fair rule. However when a QB or player dives, it's where the ball is when the runner is down (if they are going down due to contact). If there is no contact, I thought they were down once they were touched or if they enter the end zone - TD! What's the rule? Was there a rule change? (and it seems not fair) BTW on the next play, the QB sneak when he fumbles, regains the ball and extends it over the goal line, THAT also should have been a TD, but they said no again. I don't think he was ever "down", I think he was on top of bodies. Because he lost the ball, it cannot be said his forward progress stopped. He regained possession and extended it into the end zone. Please let me know your thoughts on this one too.
  17. Overall, the Bills weren't good enough last night. But even playing at an average level, they almost won. It's hard to overcome: Arrogant coaching. A simple FG sends the game to OT and an even-chance at winning. Overthinking decisions - sitting pass rushers Basham and Epenesa and playing 'big boys' Phillips & Butler to stop the run. How'd that work Coach? We looked soft last night. Poor red-zone execution. Tennessee looked like a #1 defense, pushed our o-line around. What happened to being Humble? We looked arrogant and got punched in the mouth. We need to smarten-up. We're better that we showed last night.
  18. People are hired for radio and/or TV for a reason. On radio - you should have a good-great voice. On TV, you should be attractive, clean, groomed, etc. If you're not a former player/coach/expert on the subject matter, you need to look and/or sound good (intelligent, pleasing pitch, etc.) For the above reasons, I do not care for Maddy or Murph. I never liked Van Miller - but he was excellent at his job. RJ & Ted Darling were great. Dan what's-his-name will hopefully be an acquired taste. I don't care for Chris Brown either - because he acts like the expert he isn't. Tasker has a great knowledge of the game and I can listen to that all day - no one I know has that. Ditto for Reuben and Thurman, etc.
  19. I liked Mike & Mike. Greeny is insufferable and I loved how Golic kept in check. Golic played the game and had good insight; Greeny is an obnoxious Jet fan who fancies himself as a know-it-all (far from it). When they broke them up - I stopped watching ESPN; now it's NFL Network's Good Morning Football. I have no use for espn except for: When the Manning Bros call the MNF Game on espn2 MAYBE when they start covering a little hockey, though I still watch the NHL Network recap show.
  20. Oh GREAT!!! Another Buffalo superstar with a neck problem!!!! @#$%^&*(!!!!
  21. Did you know . . . During the 1960s, only six professional defensive linemen were unanimous All-League selections for three or more years, Sestak (3), Bob Lily (5), Merlin Olsen (4), Willie Davis (3), Gino Marchetti (3), and Deacon Jones (3). The latter five, all former NFL players, have already been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while Sestak, a star from the AFL, like many other AFL players has been ignored by the Hall of Fame selectors. He was named to the First Team for his position at defensive tackle, along with Houston Antwine. In contrast, Buck Buchanan (a Second Team selection) is a Hall of Famer while Sestak is not. In January 1970, Sestak was selected as a member of the All-Time All-AFL Team, and in 2009 as a member of the Bills' 50th Anniversary Team. In 2019, despite not being in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he was chosen as a finalist for the NFL’s 100th Anniversary Team. Old time players really get shafted.
  22. Ignore him! Bills Mafia-rage gives him relevancy. Don't feed the weasel!!
