Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?

Tre White comeback player of the year. -
Forest - nobody’s talking about this signing but he may be the best safety on our roster

Good watch but not as cool as usual. Previous years showed more insider stuff, this just rehashed stuff (like calls to draftees) that we’ve seen before. How about footage of taking guys out to dinner after their pro-day? How about calls to UDFA so we get a feel on how that works? How about trades that didn’t go through?

Different scenario. Those were considered top 10 talent (in McGahee's case, pre-injury) in their years. Ton of guys in their position carry an attitude - I think Amari Cooper was one too. But the guys drafted by Bills in recent years, are towards the bottom of a round, like 30, so you don't know if you are going to make that round. A lot of money at stake. Bottom 1st rounders average something like $13 million 4 year rookie contract. Mid-2nd rounders may get half of that. For people in their position and their agents, every pick going by costs them money. When you look back, if a guy gets a 2nd contract, it looks petty worrying about 1st round vs 2nd round money, but you know what? Even half of the 1st round guys don't make it.

Not only a great cover but a contender for "One Song to Listen to For the Rest of Your Life...."

Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?

Not to mention Dorian Strong, who just feels like a Benford-ish fit if he brings it. That's a serious infusion of high-end DB talent/traits/pedigree/production. Along with Forrest entering the S competition; hope he gets a fair shake at it. They identified DL and DB deficits and filled them in a draft nicely designed to do so. I wonder if a pure S pick was at any point tempting. CHECK THIS ANALOGY DAMN: drafting a true S in first half of 2025 draft could have been blocked by the presence of Bishop (2nd rounder year before) and Rapp (decent starter signed for 2 more years), the same way Coleman (2nd rounder year before) and Samuel (signed for 2 more years) could have blocked a more significant draft investment at WR, even though WR is a much more premium position than S, and Coleman and Samuel have not done a ton for the Bills to date. The Bills lean pretty heavily on player development. Pessimists will say that kind of hope isn't a strategy. Optimists will say that guys drafted on the first two days are just that certain set of circumstances away from outgrowing their ceilings. -
Seems like the OP is not impressed with length, but instead prefers a tight end with a little more girth.
-
to be fair….the NFL wants to wait to see what happens in free agency and some big names in the draft go to before releasing the schedule.

What is your favorite totally random Bills game?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The 2003 season opening 31-0 beat down of New England. I thought the Bills were going to be THE premier 2000s AFC team. Mostly because of the defense. I thought they were building something special. If I only knew how bad it would eventually become. An honorable mention to the Texans game where JP Losman hit a couple 83 yard bombs to Evan’s (how poetic) and the game winner to Peerless Price. Just a great game with some huge plays that went down to the wire. -

The issue with sanders doesn’t appear to be his ability to play QB -
Like Willis McGahee and Stephon Gilmore?
-
its so great to see players who are genuinely happy to be bills

Deone Walker's strength at this point in his development is not really run defense. To date, he's been much better rushing the passer. 2023 college tape, Senior Bowl tape, injury recovery with NFL strength and conditioning, plus the promise of intensive NFL coaching, projects a high ceiling overall for Walker. But he's not a plug-and-play run stuffer at all right now. -
Jordan Hancock if Taron misses any time. Hoping he takes Cam Lewis' role, and that he knows that on 4th down you KNOCK IT DOWN

Our QB looks more like a TE than our actual TE does... That being said, everyone said he'd be a huge weapon in the slot! But they forgot, most of what we have are guys who would be good in the slot 😆

Trump_is_Mentally_fit is a Dip S**T . And if it means getting the other countries to pay as much as we are paying to them or them dropping their tariffs then I'm all for it ! It takes someone with balls to make changes that truly matter and seeing as your nuts haven't dropped yet your reply in no way surprises me ! You would rather stay the course that the country has been on and continue to just give away ***** tons of money to who ever had their hands out so we eventually go bankrupt and that is BS at it's finest and the new typical American that doesn't want to fight for what is right just concede ! You say there is a needless recession well to this point where I'm at gas prices have come down a little, I'm still working, my bills are paid, and most around our region are full on going forward they haven't stopped building the new stadium in Nashville or OP so where's the recession ? Oh yah them dam eggs are way over priced sorry I forgot about that ...

Oh Canada!

(1) It is recognized that there is no right under the Constitution of Canada to effect the secession of a province from Canada unilaterally and that, therefore, an amendment to the Constitution of Canada would be required for any province to secede from Canada, which in turn would require negotiations involving at least the governments of all of the provinces and the Government of Canada. "No Minister of the Crown shall propose a constitutional amendment to effect the secession of a province from Canada unless the Government of Canada has addressed, in its negotiations, the terms of secession that are relevant in the circumstances, including the division of assets and liabilities, any changes to the borders of the province, the rights, interests and territorial claims of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada, and the protection of minority rights". -
I think Hairston is going to take off with this defense, plus with an improved pass rush there should be more balls for the pickings. Hopefully we drafted the anti-Elam.

Trump ❤️ Tariffs

The Noble Family Farm idea is still true for many, many farmers. For lots of others, not so much. Corporate owned farms are expanding rapidly. They’re not even called “farmers” anymore; they’re “growers.” And yes, the bundle of subsidies and price supports are with taking a close look at. Maybe your attempt to educate me wasn’t fully successful. Maybe you were relying on an antiquated view of American farming. -

Would love to see Bosa be a consistent disrupter at DE. If he can stay healthy, it would be a dynamic on our DL that we haven’t had in a very long time! -

Haha fair points. I was gonna say Pickett- But now that you put it that way, they are probably gonna be wasting a 5th round pick regardless . (By cutting sanders or Pickett) -
Really bad pick. Either the FO really panicking picked, or Dalton has not worked hard enough. Being optimistic…perhaps he is just a guy who does not put on muscle when lifting/getting stronger.
