There was another QB around EJ Manuel era that was all neck. Name escapes me though. That dude was total pencil neck.

Will the Bills Win another game on the Road this season?
Chuck Schick replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
The home/away thing is so over rated for most teams. I don't think any of the Bills problems they have had can be attributed to having been on the road. And vice versa -
Anyone know when they might replay the game on NFL Network?
-
Oddly, if they had used the toss sweeps against Miami, their run game probably would have done better. Probably why Brady tried them this week.

I agree. I feel that Joe Brady at times is so focused on the run game that he overlooks setting up a good passing scheme. Which requires studying both areas in the opponents weakness in the pass and run. Like Daboll, who was brilliant at setting up a passing scheme per opponent. Brady is brilliant at setting up a running scheme. We all saw that when the passing scheme wasn't working with Daboll calling the plays at times he had no answer and just kept calling pass plays that weren't working. It seemed like he neglected the run game in many games so the offense was one dimensional. Brady, OTOH, looked great up until this season as against Atlanta/Miami when their defenses stopped the run the Buffalo passing game just wasn't good either. The difference is that we have seen Joe brady look brilliant at both in some games as in last season against the Lions and Rams. These assistant coaches need to have a plan B or C when the primary game plan gets shut down. My take is he will learn that no matter what the opponents record is they had better have a proper contingency ready.

This. We can get even out the head to head and record with NE when we rematch. But only if we win our games before then. But even then NE still has the tie breaker as they are 2-0 in the division and we are 2-2. So even if we beat NE and tie their record, they will be 2-1 and we would be 3-2. I am not worried about a Wildcard, there is little doubt we will get in with at least a wild card. We need to win the division at the very minimum if not still get the 1 seed. Both are very much still in play. This isn't a team that needs to play 3 road playoff games. Not with this defense and not with roller coaster Josh we have this year. We need to get the division and we need to push for the 1 seed.

Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things, and why we need it

Chris Simms said pretty much the same thing yesterday. While Cosell said it a different way, he means basically the same thing too. -
I’m not that smart but I’d guess they probably all know all the plays. It’s just a matter of a small selection they game plan with and practice each week based on that plan.

Tabor did a great job showing multiple returns in the Bills game this weekend. Below is a breakdown of two that popped because of fantastic execution by the entire unit. This first one is the one Mecole Hardman returned. The Bills set up a sideline return where they doubled the 3 to the return side and kicked out the 1&2 with our widest guy and the off-returner. The natural cross-block that occurs creates an extra gap and widens the lane for the returner. Everyone else up front is working to reach the guy aligned head up on them except the furthest guy away, he will work to pick up #3 away and the unit will burn #1 & #2. This second return was to Davis. As you can see they came out with a different alignment. This return is designed to go to either side based on which way the ball is kicked. Ultimately it worked very similarly to the first one where you get a naturally kick from the off-returner as well as the widest guy to the side of the kick on the 30. The other two are just looking to scoop the most dangerous man coming free inside them to create the natural lane for the returner inside 1, 2, & 3. Like the first scheme, the front line with look to reach the man head up to inside of them, and will burn the backside #1 & #2. It's interesting the Buccaneers didn't adjust their numbers on their coverage team, something we clearly took advantage of.

Week 12, Bills v. Texans, PREDICT THE SCORE!

Brady went in with the same small ball offense against Miami and Miami stuffed it. It took Brady too long to adjust and they probably practiced nothing in an open offense. Especially one that still featured Coleman who was jogging through lazy routes. Atlanta game you are right, they weren’t prepared. Atlanta figured out how to use our motion against us and it’s why the protection calls were wrong. Cus they showed one thing and let the motion play out. Josh called protections and the D swapped the other way. Josh got confused. As did Brady on how to adjust to it.

Why don’t you find it for us? -
I often wonder, and will defer to those on here with more coaching and scheming experience, how much flexibility there is by Week 11. Are teams still installing new plays at this point? Or is the playbook more or less set? And therefore it’s just a question of play selection not play installation?

Ah gotcha...I think maybe both him and McD realized that it is that time of the year that they have to let the MVP be the MVP and just trust that he will get it done. No more time for playing conservatively or safe and trying to protect him as much as possible...just let him go out and be Josh...not surprisingly he responded after a little bit of a rough start by "Going Sicko" as he calls it on them.

JA - 1st player in NFL history with multiple 3 pass/3 run games
GoBills808 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
tbh I've thought about the bomb to diggs, in the context of that particular drive and the game in totality, and what it represented way more than is healthy😂😂 I think they panicked there. I think they looked at 8mins left and calculated that even tho they had played basically a perfect ball control game on offense up to that point, the likelihood of capping it off w an 8min scoring drive was low and they needed one more possession to be safe. After it failed they got stuck in no man's land and we all know how it played out from there. I think that play, more than anything else, was such a poignant admission of why this whole low risk conservative approach isn't the way to go. Even after the perfect game script they were forced to abandon it and get completely out of character -
That’s nothing! I run and hot cold during EVERY game.
-
Sorry. I'm saying that Deboll got fired from the Giants and all a sudden Brady opens up the Bills offense as in he's feeling the heat. That's what took from it. I also like your analogy. Thats good!

Stroud practicing, but still in protocol and unlikely to play until after Thanksgiving.

How is that possible if we got ran all over and zero pressure?
