Mass media can dish it out, but can't take it?

And yet here you are OP...discussing what they want you to talk about. Thats how it works. Turn off the tv, stop reading CNN etc. Life is very good once you tune it out. -

Yup. Once McBeane arrived, he was just the President in name only. He had nothing to do with the players or coaching. They could have kept him or not and it wouldn’t have made a difference. Here “a minute” means 2 years so…14 minutes. And yeah, Josh being here for another decade is the expectation. With or without McD and/or Beane. That’s been settled for awhile now. There’s no denying they’ve sucked. The point has been the Bills are significantly more important and are successful, as are the rest of Terry’s teams. -
Just once, ONCE, it would be refreshing to see an insincere thank you thread. One dripping with sarcasm and spite. Is that too much to ask?

Wasn't there someone named "I eat crayonz" that used to rile people up back in the day??

Brandon Beane "might be the most sensitive GM in the entire NFL"?

Love it. This is one step away from the great Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett line in Good Omens: “It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.” -

I don't KNOW but I have always suspected that the Gutekunst interview was a solid for him. I suspect Beane and he knew each other (they are a couple of years apart in age and both from North Carolina).... because the timing of it was odd. The interviewed Brown, Beane and Gaine. Then they interviewed Beane a second time, then a couple of days later brought in Gutekunst. I think he wanted Green Bay to see him as a coveted candidate. You will recall at the time that everyone in Green Bay knew Ted Thompson was not well and not much longer for the role. There was basically two "teams" in the Packers personnel department at the time - team Wolff (Eliot) who most people assumed was the heir apparent as his dad was Thompson's predecessor and team Gutekunst. Gute was definitely seen as the outsider and to that point had limited outside interest whereas because of his name Wolff had taken multiple GM interviews by that stage. I think Gute needed the people in Green Bay to think "man we have two really sought after guys here" to give them a choice to make. -

John Thune is on the record for not trying to override the parliamentarian's decisions. This is the way the Senate decided to do things. And, of course, that same parliamentarian also found certain Biden "budget" provisions outside the scope of the reconciliation process. -
If that’s the case, I’m on pace to have been posting for 400 years by Christmas. Too much pride

Selective Justice: The Hypocrisy of MAGA

While it seems you may have missed the intended spirit of my reply, I understand what you're saying. Your perspective is different than mine, and divergent opinions make the world an interesting place. I would like to offer some additional perspective to clarify my thoughts: In response to my post, you said this: Where did I say I look down on painters. I didn't say that, though I guess I can see why you feel I inferred it. In your original post, you said: "Had some poor ***** painter..." and later described that individual as "...someone so stupid". On this message board, asterisks typically replace words that are considered derogatory, uncivil or offensive. You defined the individual by his/her occupation, seemingly suggesting his occupation was relevant to being poor and *****. I was uncertain if his/her being a painter was as important as him/her being poor, *****, or "stupid". So, I asked. Thank you for clarifying. As for 'creating angles', again, I think we're on the wrong track here. In your initial post, you asked "I mean how do you talk to someone so stupid." In response to this query, I shared some basic strategies on how you might talk to someone given how you positioned the interaction. In spite of your characterizations, I feel comfortable I have a pretty solid skillset based on my life experience, understanding of course that seeking positive continuous improvement is part of the journey. Remember, make respect your default. The rest follows. -

One thing I have noticed from many years of observing the NFL and professional sports is that the media, the GMs, the players... they're all people. And they do people things. -
TBone and NJSue provided us some hilarious donnybrooks in posts back in those days. I don't miss the endless RJ/Flutie debates. It make me feel reeeeal old!

Andy Reid, of course.

I think Rivers will get in. In order for Josh to do it this way (no SB), he would to produce at or above his current level for 10 more seasons.

We have this whole gigantic thread about talking heads saying things, so this is nothing new. If "pushing back" means PR damage control or outright lying about their reports, then that isn't having a thin skin, that is defending the truth. We got burned in the Cooper trade and it didn't work out, and our WR corps still isn't anything to write home about even now. -
And tbd members can't help but link these articles and/or feed them clicks. They do it for Nick Wright too. They never learn.

Waiting for Simon to ban him for this thread…
