McDermott not in Top 10 of NFL coaches per PFF.
RochesterLifer replied to 14774's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been following this thread with some amusement and bemusement. Except for the Chiefs, no franchise in the NFL has sustained the Bills' consistent level of excellence. It's really that simple and is the irrefutable indictment of PFF's top ten coaching list. 2024-25 may have been McDermott's best year, as we kept our top level of competitiveness while transitioning our core. Any top 10 coaching list without McDermott is not a top 10 coaching list. I understand and share the frustrations listed in this thread. - The defensive line churn. - The heavy reliance on Josh. Although our improved O-line and running game are nice steps forward. - And, of course, the still elusive Lombardi trophy. Honestly, I'm 64 with cancer - please win the go***mned thing while I am here to cherish the moment. Don't let thoughts of purity and perfection deny you the opportunity to enjoy this period of greatness. They create the denial of a happy life. -
What Are You Most Excited About This Coming Season?

Our receivers. Think they’re going to a lot better than most have predicted. -
Brandon Beane "might be the most sensitive GM in the entire NFL"?

I mean OJ went to trial and the Patriots lost a draft pick. none of that happened with the Bills. I remember you even said for Bills fans to not get too attached to that extra first rounder we picked up. But of course, we hung onto it. And you said the Carolina Panthers “complained” but I haven’t seen any evidence that happened either. Or that they leveled any kind of accusation. So again, maybe the Bills and McD carried over some info from the Panthers. It wouldn’t be that surprising. But now the story/narrative has taken on new legs over the years. -
I certainly hope so ..... he's a beast!

For most coaches those blunders are things like "ah we ran on 4th and 1 instead of giving our QB a chance" where the thought process was defensible and the fan reaction was entirely outcome dependent. You're not typically seeing cases where the coaching decision was so bad that it effectively ended the game. In those cases the offending coach is usually quickly fired, like Matt Eberflus after the Thanksgiving game in Detroit last year. Another example to me was in the Ravens playoff game when we had our backup DL on the field for the entire final drive, which gave us no chance of stopping them, but luckily we got saved from that fatal coaching blunder through sheer luck on the 2PC. My fear with McDermott for a while has been that I think you need to win those moments at least once or twice in your playoff run to ultimately win a Super Bowl. I don't know if he just tightens up too much in those high leverage moments or what, but he has consistently failed in those moments in some pretty shocking ways. Some of the other criticisms of McDermott I can find some explanations, like maybe the defensive breakdowns in the playoffs really are just because of talent and/or injuries, but I can't find an explanation for those end of game moments. -
There isn't much that could get me to stay seated during the national anthem, not sure if this would or not. Fortunately I didn't have to make the choice.

Reid made in his 6th year with McNabb & 0:13 is the equivalent of attempted murder in the coaching world. There is no statute of limitations. Most of the board hopes you are right, but when you start talking logic and statistics, you are building the case to move on if we are serious about a Super Bowl. -
I feel pretty confident that most fan bases feel the same way from time to time. Nothing is perfect in life, but I do enjoy that we get to some big moments. Fingers crossed that he gets the Bills over the hump sooner rather than later.

Those coaches are gone, yet we made equally terrible coaching decisions at the end of the Rams game this past season. One of my concerns with McDermott is that I haven't seen improvement. Too frequently in high leverage moments we are still seeing boneheaded coaching blunders and that has persisted year over year. Oh well. Just gotta hope he figures it out this year, nothing else I can do. -
Paint and punch-list consisting of installing or replacing non working fixtures, such as lighting and appliances are typically the last things done on a large construction project. My guess is that some of the high tech systems may have programming kinks to work out also. If memory is correct (which is not all the time these days) I seem to recall the scoreboard having issues on opening night at Rich Stadium.

I liked it last year at this time when you told us we need to celebrate even if it took a whole month to do so. That was fun. Then you said it wasn’t necessary to celebrate Leah T beating women in the pool. The picking and choosing has to get complicated.

If you want to truly understand how petty, how vindictive, how personal all of this is: https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2025/06/28/star-witness-against-kilmar-abrego-garca-was-due-be-deported-now-hes-being-freed/?pwapi_token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWFzb24iOiJnaWZ0IiwibmJmIjoxNzUxMDgzMjAwLCJpc3MiOiJzdWJzY3JpcHRpb25zIiwiZXhwIjoxNzUyNDY1NTk5LCJpYXQiOjE3NTEwODMyMDAsImp0aSI6ImVkZTBmMDcyLWEyOTEtNGU5Zi04NGIwLWY5YzdiZGYwMmQxYiIsInVybCI6Imh0dHBzOi8vd3d3Lndhc2hpbmd0b25wb3N0LmNvbS9pbW1pZ3JhdGlvbi8yMDI1LzA2LzI4L3N0YXItd2l0bmVzcy1hZ2FpbnN0LWtpbG1hci1hYnJlZ28tZ2FyY2Etd2FzLWR1ZS1iZS1kZXBvcnRlZC1ub3ctaGVzLWJlaW5nLWZyZWVkLyJ9._Nch735ocr9BypFYB3Xw3tJUhhZe5g2iCY6LIT4QPPA The administration is releasing a 3-time convicted felon who was set to be deported to get his testimony against Abrego-Garcia. It is commonplace to give small-time crooks this kind of benefit to go after the bigger fish. This is ass backwards. They are letting the more serious offender go free (and avoid deportation) in order to get revenge on a stupid schmuck who had the bad luck of being illegally deported due to an "administrative error." All of this just to avoid saying, "oops, we made a mistake."

I said when we drafted Davis he could eventually unseat cook. He can easily be a starter in the NFL

Brandon Beane "might be the most sensitive GM in the entire NFL"?
BADOLBILZ replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
1) In the same way that the evidence of any Patriots cheating or the murders OJ was accused of was just circumstantial. We don't know. 2) The common knowledge part was that the Panthers believed the Bills had accessed their draft information.........don't conflate that with any other part of the argument. 3) Whether you had a point other than to argue......we don't know. It's your word against evidence that suggests otherwise. 4) As for maligning Beane's character..........he's a high ranking executive executive in a bloodsport renowned for it's greed........the NFL generates $20B+ annually......lying and manipulating is part of his job. Even telling fans that your organization doesn't have the financial ability to make any big moves and then signing a Von Miller to a $20M aav deal was lying and manipulating. Expecting him to be different behind closed doors or with people he's negotiating with would be stupid. - Today

House Passes One Big Beautiful Bill

My prediction is if Cook has a season with more carries and more production than last season, teams will be lining up to give him 15million plus. Beane is steadfast about not paying him now but when Josh has an underachieving running game with less of a threat to break a big run, the offense will be limited to mostly Josh and the passing game. That’s not the formula we used to make him the MVP and get to within a win of the SB.

House Passes One Big Beautiful Bill
ChiGoose replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sure hope no GOPers use electricity since their bill is going to raise electricity costs across the board. President Donald Trump and Republicans are itching to kill tax credits that lower the cost to build wind and solar, which are now largely cheaper than fossil fuels like natural gas and coal. More wind and solar on the electricity grid helps keep utility bills lower, and Biden-era tax credits were set to rapidly ramp up the amount of those cheaper, renewable projects being built. When combined with the electric vehicle consumer tax credit likely being cut, annual electricity and transportation costs in every state in the continental United States will be higher than they would have if the tax credits stayed intact, analysis from think tank Energy Innovation found. Bad news for red states: ”Annual household energy costs could rise $845 per year in Oklahoma by 2035, and $777 per year in Texas. That’s because these states would be set to deploy a massive amount of wind and solar if Biden-era energy tax credits were left in place. If that goes away, states will have to lean on natural gas to generate power.” “Blue states that are deliberately putting more clean energy onto their grids would still see prices rise over the coming decade, albeit far less, Orvis said. They are more immune to price shocks because they won’t be as heavily reliant on gas and coal.” If the bill is bad for seniors in nursing homes, and bad for anyone who uses electricity (especially in some GOP states), it makes you wonder why they are so intent on passing this turd… -
Is this their standing promotion or is this time limited?

Most of these stadiums are not fully finished when they are opened. the cowboys stadium I remember specifically was not fully finished and they had a ribbon cutting ceremony, a concert then played the whole first season in the stadium while they finished the small details. i imagine it’s the same thing here

And people just come here to brag about their season ticket location. I find this pretty low...
