  1. Past hour
  2. Sure. James Cook is not particularly a threat in the passing game. He's pretty good there, but he's not great. Case in point: He is not the team's 3rd down back. Running backs that are true threats in the passing game don't tend to get taken off the field on 3rd downs. If a running back isn't a bellcow and doesn't have major pass catching chops, I prefer not to pay them big money. I don't particularly care to relitigate the issue any further than that, as I've said my piece plenty over the past few months on this forum. Go Bills.
  3. This was a good decision, and a good deal for both sides.
  4. For me, he needs to be utilized more as a pass catcher. That’s not on him though.. I have no idea why he hasn’t been. Getting him against a linebacker in coverage is a cheat code every time.
  5. Wasn't trying to answer it - my statement is pretty obvious. Why is this all being directed at Cook? All of those other guys signed extensions, but only Cook's negatively effects being able to sign guys? Doesn't make sense
  6. One of the reasons why I think this Bills team went heavy on defense in this past draft was largely because I think they know they won't be able to add a lot of defensive free agent talents if they hope to keep the offensive line together. So they are gonna need some cheap talent on defense to come in over the next 3-4 seasons. I think McGovern should be extended as should Torrence (although that won't kick in until 2027) and the Bills will need to likely let Edwards walk but should be able to plug in Anderson or SVPG into that interior offensive line slot. They have a lot of vets on defense who are gonna fall off AJE, D.Jones, Larry O, Bosa, Milano, Tre White, and Hamlin are all gonna be free agents on the defensive side of the ball after this season. While they could bring back a few of those guys I don't think they are gonna be able to restock on defense via free agency. So getting 6 picks on the defensive side maturing and developing a year ahead of time before a possible vet exodus is just good business.
  7. What do you mean pass catching chops? If it's about drops, that narrative is extremely overblown because of his 2nd year. If it's not about that, can you explain?

Darn. I was hoping to see an ad for human taxidermy.
  9. What was the angle? That article barely said anything
  10. How is this going to go down? Unless year 1 in for vet minimum its going to require some tough cuts. Even with vet minimum you are still rolling 1/4 of the signing bonus against this years cap. So the question is still valid, and you did not answer the question at all. Nor did you even attempt to
  11. Those ads are sometimes based on your browsing history. Just saying.
  12. Got any extra sanity to divy out to the fans?
  13. 1) James Cook is a good football player, adds an explosive element to the Bills offense, and makes life easier for Josh Allen. 2) As a matter of team building philosophy, I don't love giving second contracts to running backs that have not consistently displayed bellcow ability and pass catching chops. 3) Giving Cook the most guaranteed money that a running back has gotten in five years is...significant. 4) I believe what likely happened is that the Bills said "look, we can't reach the $15million number you're asking for. But we can up the guarantees". It was a way to meet the agent in the middle, make the player happy, and end the drama. 5) Brandon Beane likely did not want to go into such a critical season -- with the Bills once again on the doorstep of reaching a Super Bowl -- with a disgruntled player on offense and any kind of funkiness in the locker room. His desire for stability and harmony likely contributed to his doing what, for him, is an atypical thing at the running back position. All in all, while the guarantees are high and the move itself goes against my preferred roster building strategy, I'm happy the drama is over, happy for James Cook (players should always get the bag when they can!), and happy that the offensive core is essentially locked in for the next three seasons. Super Bowl contention should continue annually (health permitting), and that's a win for Beane and the Bills.
  14. And True story.. A few hours after posting this he first living thing I saw when I looked out my front window today was a large dog walking down the street by himself carrying a very large stuffed animal! I had never seen that before. Not as good as a Buffalo, but looked like a Christmas reindeer, with antlers and red decorations. Then he dropped it and moved on. I looked out later and the reindeer was gone, so maybe he returned to retrieve it. So I guess I was wrong. A stuffed animal may be just what a homeless pet needs most . Probably gives them a nice (false) sense of security. I was going to go outside and take a picture and post it here. I will be on the lookout for it later and tomorrow.
  15. Interesting angle by PFT
  16. There are signs happening all around... My daughter asked me last night what I was going to COOK FOUR dinner...
  17. Have you looked at the per game numbers? Totals might obscure the truth given that more games are played now in the regular season than in the recent past.
  18. Yeah, after football him and Bosa should team up as contractors that attend and suck every ounce of energy from a party for revenge-minded folks.
  19. He only reads 50% of the threads! And he cant pass protect!
  20. I'm guessing @simon is still celebrating and hasn't logged in yet? The "brown bag flu" He's not Beane. That's for sure
  21. He's totally underperforming...not worth the salary we're paying.
  22. Yes, Buffalo the city with zero Lombardi's and Stanley Cups is such a demanding fan base, we're just like Yankee fans or Patriot fans. God, I feel dumber when I read takes like that.
  23. Yes his vision is elite, but also his twitch, hips, and his first 3 steps are 4.2 speed.
  24. Billy Bob Thornton used to host that.
