The new stadium is somewhat perpendicular to the old stadium. Not quite 90 degrees. So now the wind hits more of the visitor sideline than the end zone. But with the canopy and so-called wind confusion panels on the outside, it should not be windy inside the bowl. As for the sun, it will travel from home sideline to visitors.

I was wondering about how the stadium is oriented wrt to the prevailing wind vs the sun - assume they took both into account. One thing I was thinking is that you would be much better off buying tickets on the side of the prevailing wind - on the other side even if you are under the edge of the canopy the rain/snow will blow on you. On the side with the wind at your back you will definitely be protected if you are on the edge of the canopy or probably even a little over.

I was driving by a few months ago and took pics of the new stadium. Standing in the street next to the new stadium and looking over to the old one, seemed funny in comparison. I love the old stadium though. Great sight lines, history. Looking forward to the new one though!
