Players today know their worth. They also know they have a small window to secure their post-NFL financial futures, so they are willing to play hard ball with ownership, especially when they play positions where salaries have exploded in the last 2 or 3 years. Trubiskey looked significantly better in the pre-season than he did in Pittsburgh or even last season with the Bills. I think that the Bills roster is considerably better than many on TSW think it is, and Trubiskey helps make it better. He's highly unlikely to be able to win 5 or 6 games if Allen was out, but I think he could lead the Bills to 3 or 4 wins out of 6 games, depending upon the opponents. I don't think any team with a high caliber starting QB like Allen could ask for much more if their backup QB has to play a string of games.

That may be their intention but there is no practice squad at this time and can’t be until after 4:00 today.

This isn’t too surprising

Would Jesus like Alligator Alcatraz?
Wolfgang replied to SectionC3's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I didn't vote for Jesus... I don't do fictional characters... I don't care about anyone's fraudulent religion... I don't care about anyone's antiquated political ideology... I did vote for the purge that began last week... This is only the beginning... This is change I can believe in... Have a nice day... -
Wow, would love to check out some or your previous posts now!! Nothing like seeing it all, and everything in the pre season, through the darkest of dark lenses. Always look at the Bills with excrement covered glasses? Obviously some concerns, and especially in the secondary, but the Bills will likely be one of the best teams in the league--and that ridiculous comment, laughable cliche, that it is all on 17 now. The Bills will have one of the best rosters in the NFL, with a much improved defense, and maybe an historically good offense now. With so many young 'uns on defense, it will take some weeks for them to hit their stride, but enough here for another great start. Clean off your glasses! They are really distorting reality. But we will see soon, for real, IF the sky is really falling. Did you have similar high hopes at the end of last pre season? I would guess; YES! Would bet a lot on that!

oh he’s going to an AFC team 1000%. AFC East, who knows.

He looked great the first preseason game outside of the TD. Horrible the second and ok the third. Was impressed with his understanding of coverages at times.

Can you imagine if Beane had done this (‘22 draft)…

That they've suffered for a long time and "deserve" a Super Bowl Championship and that nothing less will make them happy. -
I think they'd be good enough to beat the Jets, at least once.

GunnerBill replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sorry the bolded is wrong. Belichick drafted guys who fitted his scheme and only guys who fitted his scheme - you had to be smart, but you had to be able to play his scheme. It was part of what sunk his drafting at the end. As NFL defenses changed to be smaller and faster and the college game followed suit Belichick got stuck drafting people for his scheme which often meant passing on superior talents. Yes, he had the ability to be multiple in the way he used his players, he is and always was a great football coach and strategist. But he was very rigid to his player prototypes. The Patriots had the smallest draft board in the league when he was there. I was told by someone pretty well connected that one year right at the end of the Brady era the Patriots had just 53 draftable players on their board because they had decided so many others were not suitable for the scheme. -
Buffalo wasn’t going to keep a separate kick returner and punt returner. Shenault isn’t a punt returner at all.
-
go army beat navy
-
Shenault was horrible in ST coverage in that last preseason game. He missed on 2 if not 3 tackles on different kicks.
-
Absolutely.
-
also tells us what we need to know about how much writers know
-
He’s past the “prove it deal” part of his career and well into the “sign with whatever team is desperate enough to give you a one-year deal” phase. There are worse places to be 30 years old and wealthy than Miami.
-
Looked so in practice.
-
He's fully expected to make their roster and maybe even start depending the health of Diggs' brother.

No fan is above the rest. Maybe celebrity fans who are from the area or who have embraced the team and advocate for the Bills. Del Reid, Pancho, Elvis, Pinto Ron, the chefs, etc. No better than the rest and no hall of fame necessary. I see there is a Bills cruise "featuring" this Del Reid to be on it. Is there anyone who would be excited for that "opportunity"? I couldnt pick that guy out of a lineup of 2 people. I sat there is some abhorrent weather when the team was in the midst of a playoff drought, mathematically eliminated from the playoffs just like everyone else.

Is White really that much better than Jackson at this point?
-
I am good with Dane being gone even with injuries at corner. The first “minor” surprise to me is I thought Shenault would win return job over cordington. Neither has any value at position but if ever was plan Z, I rather see shenault at WR than cordington at CB
-
Which 2?
-
Jackson lining up next to Benford vs Baltimore is a nightmare scenario imo... Hopefully White is good to go
-
Well, I guess we disagree there. The very reason I thought he’d make the 53 is because he is a great STer who can also fill a backup role on D.
-
There’s no question Hairston won’t be playing, given that he hasn’t been able to do anything other than ride the bike. White, though, has been a mystery. I actually think the bills are just adding Dane to the PS and calling him up for the first few games. Otherwise, cutting him doesn’t make sense, and I doubt they are going to sign someone off the street to the 53 at CB at this point.
