Preseason Week 1 Giants at Bills - Game thread
Gregg replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
One of the things I would have liked for McDermott to do would have been to go for the TD before half. The Bills were trailing 16-7 and Trubisky hit that long pass and it looked the WR might take it in for a TD but got tackled at the 5. Why kick the FG there. It's preseason so it's not like winning this game is important. That was the perfect time to practice a play near the goal line. The Bills may find themselves in a situation where they need to convert a 2-point conversation or need a TD to win the game in the regular season. I would have gone for a TD instead of kicking the FG in that situation. -
What does this mean? It means if you accept anything past 33 thermocycles as a positive you are saying that someone is positive with zero clinical relevancy. They have no clinical symptoms and aren't shedding virus so they can't transmit. Yet they locked people down for days anyway because the result was "positive" At around 35+ cycles you've either amplified viral debris, caught a non specific false positive.....or you've just happened to catch a very early infection. Which is precisely why you don't use PCR to mass screen for positives, you use cheap at home rapid immunoassays that can be tested at home reliably and as often as needed to catch true positives The PCR covid assays were clown world to anyone who has ever developed and performed diagnostic PCR tests. IOW not Quack. He swallowed this ***** deep. Through a fire hose and then puked it out as if his MD makes him an authority in any way, shape or form.

You know it was McDermott that gave the keys to Brady to run the offense…. And no mention of Dabell since he was our OC in 2020? I mean aren’t we talking about 2020 specifically and now you’re bringing up Dorsey? 😂 Doing more with less 😂 We break a franchise record and Josh gets his MVP with a depleted offensive roster…Brady must be that good wear he turned water into wine. Wait, you criticize me for cherry picking stats and you proceed with one cherry picked stat?

Rest in peace, is it half of TBD or the 2025 Buffalo Bills?

If there are any "realists" out there who expected to see what the 2025 Bills' regular season defense is going to look like in the preseason, I've got some really great investments I'd like to talk to you about. -

Well written, as I was going to write a similar response. Either people are too young or have short memories, our team was horrible during the Kelly SB era in the pre-season. Levy was smart enough to know PS is just an evaluation with zero game planning. The Ravens for the longest time had an undefeated PS, but can’t seem to win a playoff game. We’ve had a number of playoff wins, and the PS doesn’t matter. So relax, and enjoy this team coming together. We’ll be fine. Are the same people griping when we win 13-14 games this season?

So it should be clear we won’t get there rushing 4

To me, our defense didn't look any bit different than last year. I know it's the first preseason game and we shouldn't make assessments based on one game. while I agree, there's still some of the same things we've all seen and discussed: soft cushions; can't get off the field on 3rd downs; can't get to the QB. I'm not getting ready to mash the panic button. But until I see hints of anything different, I'll be expecting a rinse and repeat defense this year. -
I'm a McDoubter as well, but slightly disagree here. I think both/either would take the Saints to the playoffs in that Division. The best saying I've read about McDermott is "He's the type of coach that can take a 4-13 team to the Wild Card round. And also the type of coach that will take a 14-3 team to the Wild Card round" He'd do very well in current situations like New Orleans or Carolina. With "very well" being relative. But would likely disappoint in KC, Philly, Detroit...

I have no doubt. Exactly why I'm not touching the stuff. I don't have the financial liquidity to weather that storm.

People remember White from the game where the Bills D beat him up and he was truly a gamer. But his body of work is not too good. Unless you like a lot more INT's than TD's. Trubisky has led two teams the playoffs. I think White has a chance but he has to be really convincing is how I look at it. And I dont think they will worry that much about 1.2 million. They need to create space for practice squad and in season replacement guys which they can do with some restructures....you should keep the backup you think is the right move for the team not 0.4% of the cap.

This will have added bonus of us not having to take as many penalties for OL not reporting eligible 😆

Knox is a good blocker from all the metrics and pundits analysis but I think he's also a solid pass catcher so I do wonder if the Bills are considering a lot of 3 TE sets with Knox/Hawes in blocking roles and Kincaid in the slot or split wide even? I love seeing Brady adding wrinkles and not trying to stay complacent.
